Isaïe 39
1 En ce temps-là, Marodach Baladan, fils de Baladan, roi de Babylone, envoya à Ézéchias des lettres, des messagers et des présents, parce qu'il avait appris sa maladie mortelle et sa guérison.
At that time, Merodach-Baladan, son of Baladan, king of Babylon, has sent letters and a present to Hezekiah when he hears that he has been sick and has become strong.
2 Et à cause d'eux Ézéchias fut réjoui, et il leur montra la maison de Nechotha, et l'or, et l'argent, les parfums, les aromates et la myrrhe, puis l'arsenal et ses magasins, enfin tout ce qui se trouvait dans ses trésors. Et il n'y eut rien qu'Ézéchias ne fit voir dans son palais et dans ses domaines.
And Hezekiah rejoices over them, and shows them the house of his spices, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good ointment, and all the house of his vessels, and all that has been found in his treasures; there has not been a thing in his house, and in all his dominion, that Hezekiah has not showed them.
3 Mais le prophète Isaïe alla trouver le roi Ézéchias, et il lui dit: Que vous ont dit ces hommes, et d'où sont-ils venus? Ézéchias répondit: Ils sont venus vers moi d'une contrée lointaine, de Babylone.
And Isaiah the prophet comes to King Hezekiah and says to him, “What did these men say? And from where do they come to you?” And Hezekiah says, “They have come to me from a far-off land—from Babylon.”
4 Et le prophète reprit: Qu'ont-ils vu dans ton palais? Et le roi répondit: Ils ont vu tout ce que mon palais renferme; il n'y a rien que je ne leur aie montré, soit dans mon palais, soit dans mes trésors.
And he says, “What did they see in your house?” And Hezekiah says, “They saw all that [is] in my house; there has not been a thing that I have not showed them among my treasures.”
5 Et le prophète Isaïe dit à Ézéchias: Écoute la parole du Seigneur des armées.
And Isaiah says to Hezekiah, “Hear a word of YHWH of Hosts:
6 Voilà que les jours approchent où tout ce que renferme ton palais, tous les trésors que tes pères ont amassés jusqu'à ce moment, seront pris et iront à Babylone, et ils n'en laisseront rien; ainsi l'a dit Dieu.
Behold, days are coming, and all that [is] in your house, and that your fathers have treasured up until this day, has been carried to Babylon; there is not a thing left, said YHWH;
7 Quant à tes fils que tu as engendrés, ils les prendront, ils les feront eunuques dans le palais du roi de Babylone.
and of your sons who come forth from you, whom you beget, they take, and they have been eunuchs in a palace of the king of Babylon.”
8 Et Ézéchias dit à Isaïe: Juste est la parole que le Seigneur a prononcée; mais que la paix et la justice se maintiennent tous les jours de ma vie.
And Hezekiah says to Isaiah, “The word of YHWH that you have spoken [is] good”; and he says, “Because there is peace and truth in my days.”
