Isaïe 35
1 Réjouis-toi, désert altéré; que le désert tressaille d'allégresse, qu'il se couvre de fleurs comme le lis.
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
2 Et les déserts du Jourdain fleuriront, et ils seront dans la joie: la gloire du Liban leur a été donnée, et les honneurs du Carmel; et mon peuple verra la gloire du Seigneur et la grandeur de Dieu.
It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, [and] the excellency of our God.
3 Fortifiez-vous, mains affaiblies, genoux tremblants.
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
4 Consolez-vous l'un l'autre, cœurs défaillants; prenez courage, n'ayez pas peur; voici notre Dieu, il vous rend et il vous rendra justice; il viendra lui-même, et il nous sauvera.
Say to them [that are] of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come [with] vengeance, [even] God [with] a recompence; he will come and save you.
5 Alors s'ouvriront les yeux des aveugles, et les oreilles des sourds ouïront.
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Alors le boiteux sautera comme un cerf; la langue nouée parlera facilement, parce que l'onde aura jailli dans le désert, et un torrent sur une terre altérée.
Then shall the lame [man] leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
7 Et les champs arides seront changés en nappes d'eau, et il y aura des fontaines sur une terre altérée; là seront la joie des oiseaux, le séjour du roseau et des étangs.
And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, [shall be] grass with reeds and rushes.
8 Là il y aura une voie pure, qu'on nommera la voie sainte, et jamais être impur n'y passera; et il n'y aura point de voie impure, mais les dispersés y marcheront et ne s'égareront pas.
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it [shall be] for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err [therein].
9 Il n'y aura pas de lion; nulle bête farouche n'y viendra ou n'y sera trouvée; mais là marcheront les hommes rachetés
No lion shall be there, nor [any] ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk [there: ]
10 Et rassemblés par le Seigneur; là sera leur refuge, et ils rentreront à Sion, transportés d'allégresse; et une joie perpétuelle couronnera leurs têtes; on verra sur leur front la louange et le ravissement; la joie aura pris possession d'eux; la douleur, la tristesse, les gémissements se seront enfuis.
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
