Isaïe 27
1 En ce jour-là Dieu tirera son épée sainte, sa grande et forte épée, contre le dragon fuyant, contre le dragon aux replis tortueux, et il tuera le dragon.
On that day will the Lord punish with his heavy and great and strong sword leviathan the flying serpent, and leviathan the crooked servant; and he will slay the crocodile that is in the sea.
2 Et ce jour-là il y aura un beau vignoble, et le désir de chanter sur la vigne.
On that day sing ye a song of the vineyard of excellent wine.
3 Je suis une ville forte, une ville assiégée; vainement je lui porterai à boire. Car elle sera prise la nuit, et le jour ses murs tomberont;
“I the Lord do keep it; every moment will I water it: that no one shall hurt it, night and day will I keep it.
4 Il n'est point de femme qui ne s'en soit emparée. Qui me placera pour garder la récolte dans un champ? A cause de cet état de guerre, je l'ai négligée. C'est pourquoi le Seigneur a fait toutes les choses qu'il avait ordonnées. J'ai été brûlée.
Wrath have I not: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would pass through them, and I would burn them altogether.
5 Ses habitants crieront: Faisons la paix avec lui, faisons la paix.
If he but take hold of my strength, make peace with me; make peace with me.”
6 Ceux qui viennent sont des enfants de Jacob. Et Israël germera, et il fleurira, et la terre sera remplie de son fruit.
In the future shall Jacob yet take root; Israel shall bud and blossom, and shall fill the face of the world with fruit.
7 Est-ce que Dieu les frappera, comme il a frappé? Les tuera-t-il comme il a tué les autres?
Hath he smitten him, as he smote the one that smote him? or was he slain with the same slaughter as those of him that were slain?
8 Il les renverra avec des paroles de reproche et de colère. N'est-ce pas vous qui, dans un esprit de dureté, vouliez les tuer du souffle de votre courroux?
In measure, by driving him forth, thou strivest with him: he removed him with his violent storm on the day of the east wind.
9 A cause de cela l'iniquité de Jacob lui sera remise; et cela même sera pour lui une bénédiction, puisque je lui remettrai ses péchés lorsqu'ils auront brisé les pierres de leurs autels, et qu'ils les auront réduits en poudre, et que leurs arbres n'existeront plus, et que leurs idoles seront abattues, comme leurs grands bois sacrés.
Therefore by this [only] shall the iniquity of Jacob be atoned; and this shall be all the fruit of the taking away of his sin; when he maketh all the stones of the altar as limestones that are beaten in pieces, when there shall not arise again any groves and sun-images.
10 Le troupeau qui demeure là sera épars comme un troupeau abandonné; et il restera longtemps au pâturage, et le bétail s'y reposera.
For [by this] the fortified city shall be desolate, the habitation be forsaken, and left like a wilderness; there shall the calf feed, and there shall it lie down, and consume its branches.
11 Et à la longue il ne trouvera plus d'herbe, à cause de la sécheresse. Femmes qui venez de voir un tel spectacle, approchez; car ce peuple est sans intelligence. A cause de cela, celui qui les a formés sera pour eux sans miséricorde; celui qui les a formés ne leur pardonnera point.
When its boughs are withered, they shall be broken off; women will come and set them on fire; for it is not a people of understanding; therefore he that made it will not have mercy on it, and he that formed it will show it no favor.
12 Et ce jour-là Dieu parquera les hommes depuis le lit du fleuve jusqu'au Rhinocorure. Et vous, rassemblez un à un les fils d'Israël.
And it shall come to pass on that day, that the Lord will beat off [the fruit] from the channel of the River up to the brook of Egypt; but ye shall be gathered up one by one, ye children of Israel.
13 Et ce jour-là on sonnera à grand bruit de la trompette; et ceux qui étaient perdus en Assyrie, et ceux qui étaient perdus en Égypte reviendront, et ils adoreront le Seigneur sur la montagne sainte, en Jérusalem.
And it shall come to pass on that day, that the great cornet shall be blown, and then shall come those who are lost in the land of Asshur, and those who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, and they shall prostrate themselves before the Lord on the holy mount at Jerusalem.
