Isaïe 24
1 Voilà que le Seigneur va dévaster la terre; il va la rendre déserte; il va dévoiler sa face et disperser ceux qui habitent en elle.
Lo! the Lord schal distrie the erthe, and schal make it nakid, and schal turmente the face therof; and he schal scater abrood the dwelleris therof.
2 Et le peuple sera comme le prêtre, le serviteur comme le maître, et la servante comme la maîtresse; le marchand sera comme l'acheteur, le préteur comme l'emprunteur, et le débiteur comme le créancier.
And it schal be, as the puple, so the preest; as the seruaunt, so his lord; as the handmaide, so the ladi of hir; as a biere, so he that sillith; as the leenere, so he that takith borewyng; as he that axith ayen, so he that owith.
3 La terre sera entièrement détruite, la terre sera entièrement dépouillée; car la bouche du Seigneur a dit ces choses:
Bi distriyng the lond schal be distried, and schal be maad nakid by rauyschyng; for whi the Lord spak this word.
4 La terre est dans le deuil, le monde est désolé, les grands de la terre ont pleuré.
The erthe morenyde, and fleet awei, and is maad sijk; the world fleet awei, the hiynesse of the puple of erthe is maad sijk,
5 Elle a péché par ceux qui l'habitent, parce qu'ils ont transgressé la loi et altéré les commandements de l'éternelle alliance.
and the erthe is slayn of hise dwelleris. For thei passiden lawis, chaungiden riyt, distrieden euerlastynge boond of pees.
6 C'est pourquoi une malédiction consumera cette terre en punition du péché de ceux qui l'habitent. C'est pourquoi ses habitants seront pauvres, et il n'y restera qu'un petit nombre d'hommes.
For this thing cursyng schal deuoure the erthe, and the dwelleris therof schulen do synne; and therfor the louyeris therof schulen be woode, and fewe men schulen be left.
7 Le vin pleurera, la vigne pleurera; et ils gémiront, tous ceux qui avaient l'âme en joie;
Vyndage morenyde, the vyne is sijk; alle men that weren glad in herte weiliden.
8 Il a cessé, le bruit joyeux des tambours; elle a cessé, la voix de la cithare.
The ioie of tympans ceesside, the sowne of glad men restide; the swetnesse of harpe with song was stille.
9 Les hommes sont confondus; ils ne boivent plus de vin, et la bière est pleine d'amertume pour ceux qui en boivent.
Thei schulen not drynke wyn; a bittere drynk schal be to hem that schulen drynke it.
10 Toute la ville est déserte; elle ferme ses maisons pour qu'on n'y puisse entrer.
The citee of vanyte is al to-brokun; ech hous is closid, for no man entrith.
11 Partout elle crie pour avoir du vin; toute joie sur la terre a cessé, toute joie est partie de la terre,
Cry schal be on wyn in streetis, al gladnesse is forsakun, the ioie of erthe is `takun awei.
12 Et les villes seront inhabitées, et les maisons vides crouleront.
Desolacioun is left in the citee, and wretchidnesse schal oppresse the yatis.
13 Toutes ces choses arriveront sur la terre au milieu des nations. Et de même que l'on secoue un olivier, ainsi seront-elles secouées. Et si la vendange s'arrête,
For these thingis schulen be in the myddis of erthe, in the myddis of puplis, as if a fewe fruitis of olyue trees that ben left ben schakun of fro the olyue tre, and racyns, whanne the vyndage is endid.
14 Ils pousseront de grandes clameurs; mais ceux qui auront été épargnés sur la terre se réjouiront tous ensemble de la gloire du Seigneur, et la mer en sera troublée dans ses eaux.
These men schulen reise her vois, and schulen preise, whanne the Lord schal be glorified; thei schulen schewe signes of gladnesse fro the see.
15 C'est pourquoi la gloire du Seigneur ira jusqu'aux îles de la mer, le nom du Seigneur y sera glorifié.
For this thing glorifie ye the Lord in techyngis; in the ilis of the see glorifie ye the name of the Lord God of Israel.
16 Seigneur Dieu d'Israël, des extrémités de la terre nous avons appris vos prodiges, vous, espérance de l'homme pieux. Et l'on dira: Malheur aux prévaricateurs qui transgressent la loi!
Fro the endis of erthe we han herd heriyngis, the glorye of the iust. And Y seide, My priuyte to me, my pryuyte to me. Wo to me, trespassours han trespassid, and han trespassid bi trespassyng of brekeris of the lawe.
17 La peur, l'abîme et les pièges sont pour vous qui habitez la terre.
Ferdfulnesse, and a diche, and a snare on thee, that art a dwellere of erthe.
18 Et voici ce qui arrivera: celui qui fuira de peur tombera dans l'abîme; et celui qui sortira de l'abîme sera pris au piège; car les cataractes du ciel seront ouvertes, et les fondements de la terre en seront ébranlés.
And it schal be, he that schal fle fro the face of ferdfulnesse, schal falle in to the diche; and he that schal delyuere hym silf fro the dich, schal be holdun of the snare; for whi the wyndows of hiye thingis ben openyd, and the foundementis of erthe schulen be schakun togidere.
19 La terre sera pleine de trouble, la terre sera pleine d'angoisse.
The erthe schal be brokun with brekyng,
20 Elle s'est détournée de sa voie comme un homme ivre et débauché; elle sera chancelante comme la cabane du gardien des vergers; et parce que l'iniquité a prévalu en elle, elle tombera et ne pourra se relever.
the erthe schal be defoulid with defoulyng, the erthe schal be mouyd with mouyng, the erthe schal be schakun with schakyng, as a drunkun man.
21 Et le Seigneur étendra sa main sur l'armée du ciel et sur les rois de la terre.
And it schal be takun awei, as the tabernacle of o nyyt, and the wickidnesse therof schal greue it; and it schal falle down, and it schal not adde, for to rise ayen. And it schal be, in that dai the Lord schal visite on the knyythod of heuene an hiy, and on the kyngis of erthe, that ben on erthe.
22 Et la grande Synagogue de la terre sera réunie et jetée en prison; et la forteresse sera fermée; et après plusieurs générations ils seront visités.
And thei schulen be gaderid togidere in the gadering togidere of a bundel in to the lake, and thei schulen be closid there in prisoun; and aftir many daies thei schulen be visited.
23 Et la brique sera liquéfiée, et le mur croulera; parce que le Seigneur règnera du haut de Sion et de Jérusalem, et en présence des anciens il sera glorifié.
And the moone schal be aschamed, and the sunne schal be confoundid, whanne the Lord of oostis schal regne in the hil of Sion, and in Jerusalem, and schal be glorified in the siyt of hise eldre men.
