Osée 8
1 Ils seront frappés au sein d'un coup rapide contre terre, ou comme l'aigle s'abattant sur la maison du Seigneur, parce qu'ils ont transgressé Mon alliance et péché contre Ma loi.
Set the trumpet to thy mouth. [He cometh] as an eagle against the house of Jehovah, because they have transgressed my covenant, and rebelled against my law.
2 Et ils crieront vers Moi, en disant: Ô Dieu, nous Te reconnaissons!
They shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee; [we], Israel.
3 Israël a pris en haine le bien; ils M'ont poursuivi comme un ennemi.
Israel hath cast off good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4 Ils ont fait pour eux, et non pour Moi, des rois qui ont régné, sans Me les faire connaître; avec leur argent et leur or, ils se sont fabriqué des idoles, et c'est pour cela qu'ils ont été exterminés.
They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5 Répudie ton veau, Samarie; Ma colère est exaspérée contre eux: jusques à quand sera-t-il impossible qu'ils soient purifiés
Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast [thee] off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will they be incapable of purity?
6 en Israël? C'est un artisan qui l'a fait; il n'est point Dieu; c'est pourquoi ton veau t'a égaré, Samarie.
For from Israel is this also: — a workman made it, and it is no God: for the calf of Samaria shall be [broken in] pieces.
7 Ils ont semé du grain éventé, et leur destruction en fera la récolte. Ils n'ont pas une gerbe dont on puisse faire de la farine, et s'il y en a, les étrangers la mangeront.
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk; should it sprout, it would yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
8 Israël a été dévoré; il est maintenant parmi les nations comme un vase inutile,
Israel is swallowed up: now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
9 parce qu'ils sont allés aux Assyriens. Éphraïm a refleuri contre lui-même; ils ont aimé les présents.
For they are gone up [to] Assyria [as] a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10 Et c'est pourquoi ils seront livrés aux gentils; alors Je les recevrai, et ils cesseront en peu de temps d'oindre des rois et des princes.
Although they hire among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall begin to be straitened under the burden of the king of princes.
11 Car Éphraïm avait multiplié les autels; mais ceux qu'il a aimés étaient des autels de péché.
Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.
12 J'avais écrit pour lui une multitude de préceptes; mais ces lois ont été réputés par lui comme étrangères, même les autels qu'il aime.
I have prescribed unto him the manifold things of my law: they are counted [as] a strange thing.
13 Aussi quand ils immoleront une victime et en mangeront les chairs, le Seigneur ne les agréera pas. Alors Il Se souviendra de leur iniquité, et tirera vengeance de leurs crimes. Ils seront retournés en Égypte, et ils mangeront des viandes impures chez les Assyriens.
They sacrifice flesh [for] the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; Jehovah hath no delight in them. Now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14 Tel Israël aussi a oublié son Créateur, et ils ont planté des bois sacrés, et Juda a multiplié les villes fortifiées; mais sur ces villes J'enverrai la flamme, et elles seront dévorées jusqu'aux fondations.
For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
