Genèse 1
1 Au commencement Dieu créa le ciel et la terre.
In the beginning God created the heauen and the earth.
2 Or la terre était invisible et vide; les ténèbres étaient au-dessus de l'abîme, et l'Esprit de Dieu était porté sur les eaux.
And the earth was without forme and void, and darkenesse was vpon the deepe, and the Spirit of God mooued vpon the waters.
3 Et Dieu dit: Soit la lumière, et la lumière fut.
Then God said, Let there be light: And there was light.
4 Dieu vit que la lumière était bonne, et il sépara la lumière des ténèbres.
And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated the light from the darkenes.
5 Dieu appela la lumière jour; il appela nuit les ténèbres. Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin; un jour.
And God called the Light, Day, and the darkenes, he called Night. So the euening and the morning were the first day.
6 Dieu dit ensuite: Qu'il y ait un firmament au milieu des eaux; qu'il sépare les eaux des eaux; et il en fut ainsi.
Againe God said, Let there be a firmament in the mids of the waters: and let it separate the waters from the waters.
7 Dieu créa le firmament, il sépara les eaux qui étaient au-dessus du firmament, des eaux qui étaient au-dessous du firmament.
Then God made the firmament, and separated the waters, which were vnder the firmament, from the waters which were aboue the firmament: and it was so.
8 Il appela le firmament ciel. Et Dieu vit que cela était bien. Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin, et ce fut un deuxième jour.
And God called the firmament Heauen. So the Euening and the morning were the second day.
9 Après quoi Dieu dit: Que les eaux, au-dessous du ciel, soient réunies en un seul amas, et que l'aride apparaisse. Et il en fut ainsi: les eaux, au- dessous du ciel, furent réunies en un seul amas, et l'aride apparut.
God said againe, Let the waters vnder the heauen be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appeare. and it was so.
10 Dieu appela l'aride terre; il appela mers l'amas des eaux. Et Dieu vit que cela était bien.
And God called the dry land, Earth, and he called the gathering together of the waters, Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11 Et Dieu dit: Que la terre produise des plantes herbacées, portant semence selon les espèces et les similitudes, et des arbres fertiles en fruits, qui aient en eux les semences propres à chaque espèce sur la terre. Et il en fut ainsi:
Then God said, Let the earth bud forth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seed, the fruitfull tree, which beareth fruite according to his kinde, which hath his seede in it selfe vpon the earth: and it was so.
12 La terre produisit des plantes herbacées, portant semence selon les espèces et les similitudes, et des arbres fertiles en fruits ayant en eux les semences propres à chaque espèce sur la terre. Et Dieu vit que cela était bien.
And the earth brought foorth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seede according to his kind, also the tree that beareth fruit, which hath his seed in it selfe according to his kinde: and God saw that it was good.
13 Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin, et ce fut un troisième jour.
So the euening and the morning were the third day.
14 Dieu dit ensuite: Que des luminaires soient dans le firmament du ciel, pour luire sur la terre et séparer les jours et les nuits; qu'ils soient les signes des temps et des jours et des années;
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heauen, to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signes, and for seasons, and for dayes and yeeres.
15 Qu'ils brillent au firmament du ciel, pour éclairer la surface de la terre. Et il en fut ainsi:
And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heauen to giue light vpon the earth: and it was so.
16 Dieu créa les deux grands luminaires: le plus grand luminaire pour présider aux jours, le luminaire le plus petit pour présider aux nuits. Il créa les étoiles,
God then made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesse light to rule the night: he made also the starres.
17 Qu'il plaça dans le firmament du ciel pour éclairer la surface de la terre,
And God set them in the firmament of the heauen, to shine vpon the earth,
18 Présider aux jours et aux nuits, et séparer la lumière des ténèbres. Et Dieu vit que cela était bien.
And to rule in the day, and in the night, and to separate the light from the darkenesse: and God saw that it was good.
19 Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin, et ce fut un quatrième jour.
So the euening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 Et Dieu dit: Que les eaux produisent des reptiles, âmes vivantes, et des oiseaux volant sur la terre, sous le firmament du ciel. Et il en fut ainsi:
Afterward God said, Let the waters bring foorth in abundance euery creeping thing that hath life: and let the foule flie vpon the earth in the open firmament of the heauen.
21 Dieu créa les grands poissons, et tout reptile (âme vivante) que les eaux produisirent par espèces. Il créa tous les oiseaux ailés par espèces. Et Dieu vit que cela était bien.
Then God created the great whales, and euery thing liuing and mouing, which the waters brought foorth in abundance according to their kinde, and euery fethered foule according to his kinde: and God sawe that it was good.
22 Puis Dieu les bénit, disant: Croissez et multipliez, remplissez les eaux des mers; et que les oiseaux multiplient sur la terre.
Then God blessed them, saying, Bring foorth fruite and multiplie, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the foule multiplie in the earth.
23 Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin, et ce fut un cinquième jour.
So the euening and the morning were the fifte day.
24 Dieu dit ensuite: Que la terre produise des âmes vivantes, selon les espèces: quadrupèdes, reptiles, bêtes fauves de la terre, par espèces. Et il en fut ainsi:
Moreouer God said, Let the earth bring foorth the liuing thing according to his kinde, cattel, and that which creepeth, and the beast of the earth, according to his kinde. and it was so.
25 Dieu créa les bêtes fauves de la terre, par espèces, les bestiaux selon leurs espèces, et tous les reptiles de la terre par espèces. Et Dieu vit que cela était bien.
And God made the beast of the earth according to his kinde, and the cattell according to his kinde, and euery creeping thing of the earth according to his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26 Alors Dieu dit: Créons l'homme à notre image et ressemblance, qu'il ait tout pouvoir sur les poissons de la mer, sur les oiseaux du ciel, et sur les bestiaux, et sur toute la terre, et sur les reptiles se traînant à terre.
Furthermore God said, Let vs make man in our image according to our likenes, and let them rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer the beastes, and ouer all the earth, and ouer euery thing that creepeth and moueth on the earth.
27 Et Dieu créa l'homme; il le créa à l'image de Dieu; il les créa mâle et femelle.
Thus God created the man in his image: in the image of God created he him: he created them male and female.
28 Et Dieu les bénit, disant: Croissez et multipliez, remplissez la terre, et dominez sur elle; soyez maîtres des poissons de la mer, et des oiseaux du ciel, et de tous les bestiaux, et de toute la terre, et de tous les reptiles qui se traînent à terre.
And God blessed them, and God said to them, Bring forth fruite and multiplie, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer euery beast that moueth vpon the earth.
29 Voyez, dit Dieu, je vous donne toutes les plantes à semence qui germent à la surface de la terre; que tous les arbres qui portent des fruits à semence soient à vous, pour être votre nourriture.
And God said, Beholde, I haue giuen vnto you euery herbe bearing seede, which is vpon al the earth, and euery tree, wherein is the fruite of a tree bearing seede: that shall be to you for meate.
30 Que toutes les bêtes fauves de la terre, tous les oiseaux du ciel, tous les reptiles qui se traînent à terre, et ont en eux une âme vivante, aient pour nourriture toute herbe verdoyante. Et il en fut ainsi.
Likewise to euery beast of the earth, and to euery foule of the heauen, and to euery thing that moueth vpon the earth, which hath life in it selfe, euery greene herbe shall be for meate. and it was so.
31 Et Dieu regarda toutes les choses qu'il avait créées; et les trouva excellemment bonnes. Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin, et ce fut un sixième jour.
And God sawe all that he had made, and loe, it was very good. So the euening and the morning were the sixt day.
