Genèse 9
1 Dieu bénit Noé et ses fils, et il leur dit: Croissez et multipliez, remplissez la terre et dominez sur elle.
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
2 Vous inspirerez crainte et terreur à toutes les bêtes fauves de la terre, aux oiseaux du ciel, à tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, et à tous les poissons de la mer. Je les livre à vos mains.
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, and on every fowl of the air, on all that moves on the earth, and on all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
3 Tout ce qui se meut et a vie vous servira d'aliment; je vous donne de même, dans les champs, toute plante potagère.
Every moving thing that lives shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
4 Cependant, vous ne mangerez pas de chair ayant encore le sang et la vie.
But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall you not eat.
5 Car votre sang, le sang de votre vie, je le rechercherai jusque dans les griffes des bêtes fauves, et je rechercherai la vie de l'homme jusque dans les mains de l'homme son frère.
And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.
6 Celui qui versera le sang de l'homme, le versera au prix de son propre sang, parce que j'ai créé l'homme à l'image de Dieu.
Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
7 Mais croissez et multipliez, remplissez la terre, et dominez sur elle.
And you, be you fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
8 Et Dieu parla à Noé et à ses fils, disant:
And God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
9 Je rétablis mon alliance avec vous, avec votre postérité,
And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
10 Avec toute âme vivante, oiseaux et bestiaux, et avec toutes les bêtes fauves de la terre qui sont sorties de l'arche avec vous.
And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
11 J'établirai mon alliance en votre faveur; la chair ne périra pas de nouveau par le déluge, et il n'y aura plus de déluge qui détruise la terre.
And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
12 Et le Seigneur Dieu dit à Noé: Voici le signe de l'alliance que j'établis entre moi et vous et toute âme vivante, pour toutes les races futures:
And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 Je place mon arc dans la nue, et il sera le signe de mon alliance avec la terre.
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14 Lorsque je rassemblerai les nuées sur la terre, l'arc paraîtra dans la nue.
And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15 Et je me souviendrai de mon alliance avec vous et avec toute âme vivante et toute chair, et il n'y aura plus de déluge qui détruise toute chair.
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 Mon arc sera dans la nue; et à sa vue je me souviendrai de l'alliance éternelle entre moi et la terre, et toute âme vivante et toute chair qui est sur la terre.
And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look on it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.
17 Dieu dit à Noé: Tel est le signe de l'alliance que j'ai établie entre moi et toute chair qui est sur la terre.
And God said to Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.
18 Or, les fils de Noé qui sortirent de l'arche étaient Sem, Cham et Japhet; Cham fut le père de Chanaan.
And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.
19 Tels sont les trois fils de Noé, pères des hommes qui furent semés sur toute la terre.
These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth covered.
20 Noé commença à travailler à la terre, et il planta une vigne.
And Noah began to be an farmer, and he planted a vineyard:
21 Et il but du vin, et, s'étant enivré, il se mit nu en sa demeure.
And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
22 Or, Cham, le père de Chanaan, vit la nudité de son père, et il s'en alla le dire à ses deux frères au dehors.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers without.
23 Mais Sem et Japhet ayant pris un manteau, l'étendirent ensemble sur leurs épaules, s'approchèrent à reculons, et cachèrent la nudité de leur père; leur visage regardait à l'opposé, et ils ne virent point la nudité de leur père.
And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.
24 Or, Noé, étant sorti du sommeil causé par le vin, apprit ce qu'avait fait à son sujet son fils puîné.
And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.
25 Et il dit: Maudit soit l'esclave Chanaan; il sera le serviteur de ses frères.
And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.
26 Il dit ensuite: Béni soit le Seigneur, le Dieu de Sem, et l'esclave Chanaan sera serviteur de Sem.
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 Que Dieu multiplie Japhet, que celui-ci habite sous les tentes de Sem, et que Chanaan soit son esclave.
God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
28 Noé vécut, après le déluge, trois cent cinquante ans.
And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
29 Et tous les jours de Noé formèrent neuf cent cinquante ans, et il mourut.
And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.
