Genèse 6
1 Il vécut dans le temps que les hommes commencèrent à être nombreux sur la terre, et que des filles leur étaient nées.
And it came to pass when men had begun to multiply on the face of the ground and daughters had been born to them,
2 Or, les fils de Dieu, ayant vu que les filles des hommes étaient belles, prirent pour femmes, parmi toutes, celles dont ils firent choix.
that the sons of God saw the daughters of men! that they were, fair, —so they took to themselves wives of whomsoever they chose,
3 Et le Seigneur Dieu dit: Mon esprit ne restera pas toujours avec ces hommes, parce qu'ils ne sont que chair. Désormais leurs jours formeront cent vingt ans.
And Yahweh said—My spirit shall not rule in man to times age—abiding, for that, he also, is flesh, —Yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.
4 Or, il y avait des géants sur la terre, en ces jours-là; car depuis que les fils de Dieu s'étaient unis aux filles des hommes, elles leur avaient enfanté ces géants, ces hommes fameux.
The giants, were in the earth in those days, and also, after that, when the sons of God began to go in unto the daughters of men, and sons were born to them, the same, were the heroes that were from age-past times the men of renown.
5 Or, le Seigneur Dieu ayant vu que les méchancetés des hommes étaient multipliées sur la terre, et que chacun en son cœur tous les jours s'appliquait à penser au mal,
Then Yahweh saw that great, was the wickedness of man in the earth, and that, every purpose of the devices of his heart, was only wicked all the day;
6 Il s'attrista en lui-même d'avoir créé l'homme sur la terre. Et il réfléchit.
and it grieved Yahweh, that he had made man in the earth, —and he took sorrow unto his heart.
7 Et Dieu dit: J'effacerai de la face de la terre l'homme que j'ai créé; tout sera détruit depuis l'homme jusqu'aux bestiaux, depuis les reptiles jusqu'aux oiseaux du ciel, parce que j'ai regret de les avoir créés.
And Yahweh said—I must wipe off man whom I created from off the face of the ground, from man unto beast unto creeping thing, and unto the bird of the heavens, —for I am grieved that I made them.
8 Noé cependant trouva grâce devant le Seigneur Dieu.
But, Noah, had found favour in the eyes, of Yahweh.
9 Voici les générations de Noé. Noé, homme juste, irréprochable dans sa vie, Noé était agréable à Dieu.
These, are the generations of Noah, Noah, was, a righteous man blameless, in his generations, —with God, did Noah walk.
10 Et Noé engendra trois fils: Sém, Cham et Japhet.
And Noah begat three sons, —Shem, Ham and Japheth.
11 Or, la terre était corrompue devant Dieu, et pleine d'iniquités.
And the earth corrupted itself before God, —and the earth was filled with violence,
12 Et le Seigneur Dieu vit la terre toute corrompue, parce que toute chair sur la terre avait corrompu ses voies.
And God beheld the earth, and lo! it had corrupted itself, —surely all flesh had corrupted its way, on the earth.
13 Et le Seigneur Dieu dit à Noé: Le temps fatal de tous les hommes est arrivé devant moi, parce que la terre est pleine de leurs iniquités; voilà donc que je vais détruire eux et toute la terre.
So God said unto Noah: the end of all flesh, hath come in before me, for, filled, is the earth with violence, because of them, —behold me, then, destroying them with the earth.
14 Ainsi, fais-toi une arche d'arbres équarris; tu composeras l'arche de cellules, et tu l'enduiras de bitume, au dedans et en dehors.
Make for thee an ark of timbers of gopher, rooms, shalt thou make with the ark, —and thou shalt cover it within and without with pitch.
15 Voici comment tu feras l'arche: trois cents coudées de long, cinquante coudées de large, trente coudées de haut.
And, this, is how thou shalt make it, —three hundred cubits, the length of the ark, fifty cubits, the breadth thereof, and thirty cubits the height thereof.
16 Tu construiras l'arche en rassemblant les bois les uns au-dessus des autres; tu donneras au faîte une coudée de plus d'élévation; tu feras la porte de l'arche sur les flancs; elle aura des chambres basses, un étage au- dessus, et un troisième étage.
A place for light, shalt thou make to the ark and to a cubit, shalt thou finish it upwards, and the opening of the ark—in the side thereof, shalt thou put, —with lower, second and third stories, shalt thou make it.
17 Car voilà que je prépare un déluge; j'amènerai de l'eau sur la terre pour anéantir toute chair ayant souffle de vie sous le ciel, et tout ce qui est sur la terre périra.
And, I, behold me! bringing in the flood—even waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh wherein is the spirit of life, from under the heavens, —everything that is in the earth, shall cease to breathe:
18 J'établirai mon alliance avec toi; puis tu entreras dans l'arche, et avec toi entreront tes fils, ta femme, et les femmes de tes fils.
therefore will I establish my covenant with thee, —and thou shalt enter into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives, with thee.
19 Ensuite, de tous les bestiaux, de tous les reptiles, de toutes les bêtes fauves, et de toute chair, tu introduiras dans l'arche deux couples pris parmi tous, pour être nourris avec toi; il y aura mâle et femelle.
Moreover of all the living creatures of all flesh—two of each, shalt thou bring into the ark to keep alive with thee, —male and female, shall they be.
20 De tous les oiseaux ailés, par espèces, et de tous les reptiles se traînant à terre, selon leurs espèces, deux couples, pris parmi tous, mâles et femelles, entreront près de toi, pour être nourris avec toi.
Of the bird after its kind and of the beast after its kind, [and] of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of each, shall come in unto thee. for keeping alive.
21 En même temps tu prendras avec toi de tous les aliments que vous mangez, tu les transporteras près de toi, et ce sera pour votre nourriture et pour la leur.
But thou, take to thee of all food that is eaten, and gather it unto thee, —and it shall be for thee and for them for food.
22 Et tout ce que lui ordonna le Seigneur Dieu, Noé l'accomplit exactement.
And Noah did [so], —according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
