Esdras 1
1 La première année de la domination de Cyrus, roi des Perses, la parole du Seigneur qu'avait proférée la bouche de Jérémie le prophète, devait s'accomplir; le Seigneur excita l'esprit de Cyrus, roi des Perses, et il envoya en tout son royaume une proclamation par écrit, disant:
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and [put it] also in writing, saying,
2 Voici ce qu'a dit Cyrus, roi des Perses: Le Seigneur Dieu du ciel m'a donné tous les royaumes de la terre, et lui-même a jeté les yeux sur moi pour que je lui bâtisse un temple à Jérusalem en Judée.
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which [is] in Judah.
3 Qui donc, parmi vous tous, est de son peuple? Son Dieu sera avec lui, et il partira pour Jérusalem en Judée; qu'il y bâtisse le temple du Dieu d'Israël; le seul Dieu est celui qui réside à Jérusalem.
Who [is there] among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which [is] in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he [is] the God, ) who [is] in Jerusalem.
4 Tous ceux de ce peuple qui vivent encore, en quelque lieu qu'ils habitent, les hommes de ce lieu les aideront de dons en argent, en or, en meubles, ou en bestiaux, outre ce qu'ils offriront volontairement pour le temple de Dieu à Jérusalem.
And whoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, besides the free-will-offering for the house of God that [is] in Jerusalem.
5 Alors, se levèrent les chefs de famille de Juda et de Benjamin, et les prêtres et les lévites, tous ceux que l'Esprit de Dieu excita à partir et à relever le temple du Seigneur à Jérusalem.
Then arose the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all [them] whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which [is] in Jerusalem.
6 Et tous ceux qui les entouraient leur fortifièrent les mains avec des vases d'argent, de l'or, des meubles, des bestiaux et des présents, outre les dons volontaires pour le temple.
And all they that [were] about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, besides all [that] was willingly offered.
7 Et le roi Cyrus offrit les vases du temple du Seigneur que Nabuchodonosor avait enlevés de Jérusalem, et qu'il avait dédiés au temple de son Dieu.
Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought from Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;
8 Cyrus, roi des Perses, les donna par la main de Mithradate le trésorier, et celui-ci les compta avec Sasabasar, chef de Juda.
Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
9 En voici le nombre: trente coupes d'or, mille d'argent, vingt-neuf de divers genres, trente coupes d'or,
And this [is] the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,
10 Quatre cent dix doubles coupes d'argent, et mille autres vases.
Thirty basins of gold, silver basins of a second [sort] four hundred and ten, [and] other vessels a thousand.
11 Il y avait en tout cinq mille quatre cents vases d'or et d'argent qui furent emportés par Sasabasar, du lieu d'exil de Babylone, à Jérusalem.
All the vessels of gold and of silver [were] five thousand and four hundred. All [these] did Sheshbazzar bring with [them of] the captivity that were brought from Babylon to Jerusalem.
