1 Et voici les fils de la terre promise qui partirent de la captivité et du lieu d'exil où les avait transportés Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, pour retourner à Jérusalem et en Juda, chacun en sa ville.
And these [are] sons of the province who are going up—of the captives of the expulsion that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed to Babylon, and they return to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his city—
2 Ceux qui partirent avec Zorobabel furent: Josué, Néhémias, Saraïas, Réhétias, Mardochée, Balasan, Masphar, Bachué, Rehum, Baana. Voici le dénombrement du peuple d'Israël
who have come in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
3 Fils de Pharès: deux mille cent soixante-douze.
sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred seventy-two;
4 Fils de Saphatia: trois cent soixante-douze.
sons of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy-two;
5 Fils d'Arès: sept cent soixante-quinze.
sons of Arah, seven hundred seventy-five;
6 Fils de Phaath -Moab, issus des fils de Josué et de Joab: deux mille huit cent douze.

sons of Pashhur, one thousand two hundred forty-seven;

The Levites: sons of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodaviah, seventy-four.

The singers: sons of Asaph, one hundred twenty-eight.
42 Fils des portiers: fils de Sellom, fils d'Atér, fils de Telmon, fils d'Acub, fils d'Alita, fils de Sobaï: en tout, cent trente-neuf.
Sons of the gatekeepers: sons of Shallum, sons of Ater, sons of Talmon, sons of Akkub, sons of Hatita, sons of Shobai, the whole [are] one hundred thirty-nine.

57 Fils de Saphatia, fils d'Atil, fils de Phacherath, fils d'Aseboïm, fils d'Emeï;
sons of Shephatiah, sons of Hattil, sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, sons of Ami.
58 Total des Nathinéens et des fils d'Abdeselma: trois cent quatre vingt- douze.
All the Nethinim, and the sons of the servants of Solomon [are] three hundred ninety-two.
59 Et voici tous ceux qui partirent de Thelmelech: Thelaresa, Cherub, Hédan, Emmer; et ils n'étaient point capables de déclarer leurs familles paternelles ni leur race; car ils étaient nés hors d'Israël.
And these [are] those going up from Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsa, Cherub, Addan, Immer, and they have not been able to declare the house of their fathers, and their seed, whether they [are] of Israel:
60 Fils de Daldia, fils de Rua, fils de Tobias, fils de Necoda: six cent cinquante-deux.
sons of Delaiah, sons of Tobiah, sons of Nekoda, six hundred fifty-two.
61 Et parmi les fils des prêtres, les fils de Labia, les fils d'Accus, les fils de Berzellaï, qui épousa l'une des filles de Berzellaï le Galaadite, et qui prit son nom;
And of the sons of the priests: sons of Habaiah, sons of Koz, sons of Barzillai (who took a wife from the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and is called by their name);
62 Ceux-là cherchèrent leur généalogie, mais ils ne la trouvèrent pas, et ils furent rejetés du sacerdoce.
these have sought their register among those reckoning themselves by genealogy, and they have not been found, and they are redeemed from the priesthood,
63 Et l'athersastha leur dit de ne point manger des choses les plus saintes jusqu'à ce qu'un prêtre fût suscité, portant lumières et perfections.
and the Tirshatha says to them that they do not eat of the most holy things until the standing up of a priest with [the] Lights and with [the] Perfections.
64 Or, toute l'Église réunie montait à environ quarante-deux mille trois cent soixante âmes.
All the assembly together [is] forty-two thousand three hundred sixty,
65 Sans compter leurs serviteurs et leurs servantes au nombre de sept mille trois cent trente-sept, parmi lesquels il y avait deux cents chantres et chanteuses.
apart from their servants and their handmaids; these [are] seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven: and of them [are] two hundred male and female singers.
66 Ils avaient sept mille trente-six chevaux, deux cent quarante-cinq mulets,
Their horses [are] seven hundred thirty-six, their mules, two hundred forty-five,
67 Quatre cent trente-cinq chameaux, six mille sept cent vingt ânes.
their camels, four hundred thirty-five, donkeys, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
68 Et quelques-uns des chefs de famille, lorsqu'ils entrèrent dans le temple du Seigneur à Jérusalem, offrirent volontairement de le relever au lieu qui était préparé,
And some of the heads of the fathers in their coming to the house of YHWH that [is] in Jerusalem, have offered willingly for the house of God, to establish it on its base;
69 Autant que le comportaient leurs richesses; ils donnèrent donc, au trésor des travaux, soixante et un mille mines d'or pur, cinq mille mines d'argent, et cent costumes sacerdotaux.
according to their power they have given to the treasure of the work; of gold, sixty-one thousand drams, and of silver, five thousand pounds, and of priests’ coats, one hundred.
70 Et les prêtres, et les lévites, et ceux du peuple, et les chantres, et les portiers, et les Nathinéens, et tout Israël, s'établirent dans leurs villes.
And the priests dwell, and the Levites, and of the people, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the Nethinim, in their cities; even all Israel in their cities.
