Ézéchiel 35
1 Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying,
2 Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage contre la montagne de Séir, prophétise contre elle, et dis-lui:
Son of man Set thy face against Mount Seir, —and prophesy against it;
3 Ainsi dit le Seigneur: Voilà que je suis contre toi, montagne de Séir, et j'étendrai sur toi la main, et je ferai de toi un désert, et tu seras dépeuplée.
and thou shalt say to it Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee Mount Seir, —Therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, And I will make thee a desolation and an astonishment:
4 Et tes villes seront désertes, et tu seras un désert, et tu sauras que je suis le Seigneur.
Thy cities, will I lay waste, And thou—a desolation, shalt become, So shalt thou know that I, am Yahweh.
5 En punition de ton inimitié perpétuelle, et de ce que tu as tendu des embûches à la maison de Jacob, quand ses ennemis avaient le glaive à la main, au temps de son iniquité, lorsqu'elle était à son comble;
Because thou hast had an age-abiding enmity, And hast delivered up the sons of Israel unto the hands of the sword, - In the time of their misfortune, In the time of the final punishment for iniquity,
6 En punition de cela, par ma vie, dit le Seigneur Maître, puisque tu as péché dans le sang, le sang te poursuivra.
Therefore, as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, Surely regarding blood, will I deal with thee, Blood therefore, shall pursue thee, -Since blood thou hast not hated, Therefore blood, shall pursue thee,
7 Et je ferai de la montagne de Séir un désert, et elle sera dépeuplée, et j'y détruirai hommes et bétail.
So then I will deliver up Mount Seir to desolation after desolation, - And will cut off therefrom him that passeth by and him that returneth,
8 Et je remplirai de cadavres tes collines et tes vallées, et dans toutes tes plaines tomberont des morts percés du glaive.
And I will fill his mountains with his slain, — As for thy hills and thy hollows and all thy channels, they who are thrust through by the sword shall fall therein:
9 Je ferai de toi un désert éternel, et tes villes ne seront plus habitées, et tu sauras que je suis le Seigneur.
Desolations age-abiding, will I make thee, And thy cities, shall not be inhabited, - So shall ye know that, I, am Yahweh.
10 Parce que tu as dit: Deux nations et deux terres seront à moi, et je les aurai pour héritage, et le Seigneur y réside;
Because thou hast said, the two nations, and the two lands, mine, shall become, that we may possess it Whereas Yahweh, had been there,
11 À cause de cela, par ma vie, dit le Seigneur, je te traiterai selon ta haine, et je me ferai connaître à toi, lorsque je te jugerai.
Therefore as I live, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, I will even deal according to thine anger, and according to thine envy, wherewith thou hast dealt, out of thy hatred with them, - So will I make myself known among them as soon as I shall judge thee
12 Et tu sauras que je suis le Seigneur. J'ai entendu la voix de tes blasphèmes, quand tu as dit: Les montagnes d'Israël, devenues désertes, nous ont été données pour que nous les dévorions.
And thou shalt know that, I Yahweh, have heard all thy revilings which thou hast uttered against the mountains of Israel saying, They have become desolate, — To us, have they been given for food;
13 Et ta bouche a dit contre moi des paroles superbes, et j'ai tout entendu.
And so ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, And have caused to abound against me your words, —I, have heard!
14 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: À la joie de toute la terre, je te rendrai déserte.
Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — When all the earth is rejoicing, a desolation, will I make thee:
15 Tu seras un désert, montagne de Séir, et toute l'Idumée sera détruite, et tu sauras que je suis le Seigneur leur Dieu.
As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it had become a desolation, so, will, I, do unto thee, — A desolation, shalt thou become, O Mount Seir And all Edom all of it, So shall they know that, I, am Yahweh.
