Ézéchiel 29
1 En la douzième année, le dixième mois, le premier jour du mois, la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
In the tenth year, in the tenth [month], in the twelfth [day] of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Fils de l'homme, tourne ton visage contre le Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, et prophétise contre lui et contre l'Égypte entière.
Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt:
3 Et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur: Voilà, que je suis contre toi, Pharaon, grand dragon couché au milieu de tes fleuves, et disant: Les fleuves sont à moi, c'est moi qui les ai créés.
speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.
4 Je mettrai un hameçon dans tes mâchoires; je collerai à tes nageoires les poissons de ton fleuve, et je le tirerai du milieu de ton fleuve.
And I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, with all the fish of thy rivers which stick unto thy scales.
5 Et je te jetterai soudain sur le rivage avec tous les poissons de ton fleuve. Tu tomberas sur la face de la terre; tu ne seras pas relevé; tu ne seras pas enseveli; je t'ai donné en pâture aux bêtes de la terre et aux oiseaux du ciel.
And I will leave thee [thrown] into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the earth and to the fowls of the heaven,
6 Et tous ceux qui habitent l'Égypte sauront que je suis le Seigneur. En punition de ce que tu as été pour la maison d'Israël un appui faible comme un roseau.
And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
7 Lorsqu'elle te tenait par la main, tu as plié; et lorsque par dérision on l'applaudissait des mains, et qu'elle se reposait sur toi, tu t'es brisé, et tu lui as rompu les reins.
When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and didst rend all their shoulders: and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
8 À cause de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur: Voilà que je tire contre toi le glaive, et j'exterminerai les hommes et le bétail.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and will cut off from thee man and beast.
9 Et il y aura ruine et désolation en la terre d'Egypte; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur; en punition de ce que tu as dit: Les fleuves sont à moi, c'est moi qui les ai créés.
And the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste; and they shall know that I am the LORD: because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it.
10 En punition de cela, voilà que je suis contre toi et contre tous les fleuves, et je livrerai la terre d'Égypte à la désolation, au glaive et à la ruine, depuis Magdolos et Syène jusqu'aux confins de l'Éthiopie.
therefore behold, I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even unto the border of Ethiopia.
11 Le pied de l'homme n'y posera plus, les troupeaux n'y passeront plus, et pendant quarante ans elle ne sera plus habitée.
No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.
12 Et je mettrai la terre d'Égypte au rang d'une terre déserte, et ses villes seront au rang des villes désertes pendant quarante ans. Et je disperserai l'Égypte parmi les nations, et je vannerai son peuple en tous lieux.
And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be a desolation forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
13 Et voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Après quarante ans, je rassemblerai les Égyptiens d'entre les nations où ils auront été dispersés.
For thus saith the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the peoples whither they were scattered:
14 Et je ferai entrer les Égyptiens captifs, et je les établirai en la terre de Phathorès, en la terre d'où ils auront été enlevés; et ce sera un royaume humilié
and I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdom.
15 Plus qu'aucun autre royaume. Elle ne s'élèvera plus au-dessus des nations; je les aurai réduits à un petit nombre pour qu'ils ne soient plus les plus grands parmi les peuples.
It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it any more lift itself up above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
16 Et ils ne seront plus pour la maison d'Israël un espoir en qui elle ait confiance, lui rappelant son iniquité, lorsqu'elle se mit à leur suite; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
17 Et la vingt-septième année, le premier jour du premier mois, la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first [month], in the first [day] of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
18 Fils de l'homme, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a fait servir son armée à frapper Tyr d'une grande servitude; toute tête y est devenue chauve, toute épaule ensanglantée. Et ni lui ni son armée n'ont reçu de salaire pour m'avoir servi contre elle.
Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it:
19 Ainsi dit le Seigneur Maître: Voilà que je donne à Nabuchodonosor la terre d'Égypte, et il en fera sa proie, et il en enlèvera des dépouilles; ce sera le salaire de son armée;
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
20 En récompense du service qu'il m'a rendu contre Tyr, je lui donne la terre d'Égypte; voici ce que dit le Seigneur Maître.
I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompence for which he served, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord GOD.
21 En ce jour une corne sortira du front de toute la maison d'Israël; et, au milieu d'elle, je t'ouvrirai la bouche, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
In that day will I cause an horn to bud forth unto the house of Israel, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
