Exode 15
1 Alors, Moïse chanta, avec les fils d'Israël, ce cantique au Seigneur; ils dirent: Chantons au Seigneur, car il s'est glorifié avec éclat, et il a précipité dans la mer le cheval et le cavalier.
Then Moses [Drawn out] and the children of Israel [God prevails] sang this song to Adonai, and said, “I will sing to Adonai, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.
2 Il m'a sauvé, il a été mon secours et mon protecteur; c'est mon Dieu, et je le glorifierai; c'est le Dieu de mon père, et je l'exalterai;
Yah is my strength and song. He has become my yishu'ah ·salvation·. This is my God, and I will praise him; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3 C'est le Seigneur qui broie les armées, le Seigneur est son nom.
Adonai is a man of war. Yahweh [He sustains breathing] is his name.
4 Il a précipité dans la mer les chars du Pharaon et son armée, et les grands de son royaume montés sur des chars; la mer Rouge les a engloutis.
He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea].
5 Il les a cachés sous les flots; ils se sont enfoncés dans l'abîme comme une pierre.
The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.
6 Votre droite, Seigneur, a été glorifiée en sa force; votre main droite, Seigneur, a brisé les ennemis.
Your right hand, Adonai, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Adonai, dashes the enemy in pieces.
7 À la plénitude de votre gloire, vous avez exterminé nos persécuteurs, vous avez déchaîné votre colère; elle les a dévorés comme de la paille.
In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.
8 Au souffle de votre colère, l'eau s'est séparée, les eaux se sont dressées comme une tour; les flots se sont affermis au milieu de la mer.
With the blast of your nostrils, the waters piled up! The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 L'ennemi a dit: Je poursuivrai, je saisirai, je partagerai les dépouilles; je rassasierai mon âme, je tuerai à coups de glaive; ma main prévaudra.
The enemy said, ‘I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’
10 Vous avez envoyé votre souffle: la mer les a cachés; ils ont été submergés, comme du plomb, sous les ondes impétueuses.
You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
11 Qui donc est semblable à vous parmi les dieux, ô Seigneur? Qui donc est semblable à vous, Dieu, glorifié au milieu des saints, admirable en gloire, fécond en prodiges?
Who is like you, Adonai, among the deities? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, fearful in tehilah ·praise song·, doing wonders?
12 Vous avez étendu votre droite, la terre les a engloutis.
You stretched out your right hand. The earth swallowed them.
13 Dans votre justice vous avez guidé votre peuple que vous avez racheté, vous l'avez consolé par votre force, pour le conduire au séjour saint de votre repos.
“You, in your chesed ·loving-kindness·, have led the people that you have redeemed. You have guided them in your strength to your holy habitation.
14 Les nations ont entendu et se sont irritées; les douleurs de la femme qui enfante ont saisi le peuple Philistin.
The peoples have sh'ma ·heard obeyed·. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Philistia.
15 Les chefs d'Edom et les princes des Moabites se sont hâtés, la crainte les a frappés; tous ceux de Chanaan se sont consumés.
Then the chiefs of Edom [Red] were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Moab [From father]. All the inhabitants of Canaan [Humbled] have melted away.
16 Que la terreur et l'épouvantement les assaillent; qu'ils soient pétrifiés par la grandeur de votre bras, jusqu'à ce que soit passé votre peuple, ô Seigneur, jusqu'à ce que soit passé ce peuple que vous avez acquis.
Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone— until your people pass over, Adonai, until the people pass over who you have purchased.
17 Conduisez ce peuple, établissez-le en la montagne de votre héritage, en la demeure digne de vous que vous vous êtes préparée, Seigneur, en ce lieu consacré qu'ont préparé vos mains.
You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, Adonai, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.
18 Le Seigneur règne sur les siècles, sur les siècles et au delà.
Adonai shall reign forever and ever.”
19 Les chevaux du Pharaon, ses chars et leurs écuyers, sont entrés dans la mer; et le Seigneur a ramené sur eux les flots, et les fils d'Israël ont marché à pied sec au fond de la mer.
For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Adonai brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel [God prevails] walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.
20 Alors, Marie, la prophétesse, sœur d'Aaron, prit en ses mains un tambour, et toutes les femmes sortirent à sa suite, en dansant et en frappant leurs tambours.
Miriam [Rebellion] the prophetess, the sister of Aaron [Light-bringer], took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.
21 Et Marie entonna le chœur, disant: Chantons au Seigneur, car il s'est glorifié avec éclat; il a précipité dans la mer le cheval et le cavalier.
Miriam [Rebellion] answered them, “Sing to Adonai, for he has triumphed. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
22 Après cela, Moïse fit quitter aux fils d'Israël les bords de la mer Rouge, et il les conduisit dans le désert de Sur. Ils firent trois journées de marche dans le désert, et ils ne trouvèrent point d'eau à boire.
Moses [Drawn out] led Israel [God prevails] onward from the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea], and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23 Arrivés à Mara, ils ne purent boire l'eau qui s'y trouvait, parce qu'elle était amère; c'est pourquoi ils appelèrent ce lieu Amertume (Mara).
When they came to Marah [Bitter], they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah [Bitter], for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah [Bitter].
24 Et le peuple murmura contre Moïse, disant: Que boirons-nous?
The people murmured against Moses [Drawn out], saying, “What shall we drink?”
25 Moïse aussitôt cria au Seigneur, et le Seigneur lui montra un arbre dont il jeta le bois dans l'eau; et l'eau devint douce. Là, Dieu lui proposa sa loi et sa justice, après l'avoir éprouvé.
Then he cried to Adonai. Adonai showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and a judgement for them, and there he tested them;
26 Et le Seigneur lui dit: Si tu écoutes la voix du Seigneur ton Dieu et fais ce qui lui est agréable, si tu observes ses commandements et restes docile à sa justice, je ne te frapperai d'aucune des plaies dont j'ai frappé l'Égypte, car je suis le Seigneur ton Dieu, ton Dieu qui te guéris.
and he said, “If you will sh'ma ·hear obey· sh'ma ·hear obey· Adonai your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his mitzvot ·instructions·, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery]; for I am I am Yahweh Rafa' [Yahweh your Physician, Yahweh your Healer].”
27 De là, ils vinrent à Elim, où il y avait douze sources d'eau vive et soixante-dix palmiers; et ils campèrent au bord des eaux.
They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
