Exode 14
1 Le Seigneur dit ensuite à Moïse:
And he spoke Yahweh to Moses saying.
2 Parle aux fils d'Israël, qu'ils se détournent, qu'ils transportent leurs tentes à l'opposite du campement actuel, entre Magdol et la mer, en face de Béelséphon; tu les feras camper là, près de la mer.
Speak to [the] people of Israel so they may turn back and they may encamp before Pi-hahiroth between Migdol and between the sea before Baal-Zephon opposite it you will encamp at the sea.
3 Et le Pharaon dira à son peuple: Les fils d'Israël sont errants dans la contrée, et pris par le désert.
And he will say Pharaoh of [the] people of Israel [are] wandering in confusion they in the land it has shut on them the wilderness.
4 Mais, moi j'endurcirai le cœur du Pharaon; il vous poursuivra, et je serai glorifié en lui et en toute son armée; et tous les fils des Égyptiens sauront que je suis le Seigneur. C'est, en effet, ainsi qu'ils firent.
And I will make strong [the] heart of Pharaoh and he will pursue after them and I will gain honor by Pharaoh and by all army his and they will know Egypt that I [am] Yahweh and they did so.
5 On annonça au roi des Égyptiens que le peuple avait fui; et le cœur du Pharaon et celui de ses serviteurs se tournèrent contre le peuple, et ils dirent: Qu'avons-nous fait? pourquoi avons-nous congédié les fils d'Israël, de sorte qu'ils ne nous serviront plus?
And it was told to [the] king of Egypt that it had fled the people and it was changed [the] heart of Pharaoh and servants his to the people and they said what? this have we done that we have let go Israel from serving us.
6 Le Pharaon attela donc ses chars, et il emmena avec lui tout son peuple.
And he harnessed chariot his and people his he took with him.
7 Il prit six cents chars d'élite, avec toute la cavalerie des Égyptiens, et tous les grands du royaume.
And he took six hundred chariot[s] chosen and all [the] chariotry of Egypt and officers [were] over all of it.
8 Et le Seigneur endurcit le cœur du Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, ainsi que celui de ses serviteurs; le Pharaon poursuivit les fils d'Israël; mais, dans leur marche, les fils d'Israël étaient conduits par une puissante main.
And he made strong Yahweh [the] heart of Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and he pursued after [the] people of Israel and [the] people of Israel [were] going out with a hand raised.
9 Les Égyptiens, les ayant poursuivis, les trouvèrent campés près de la mer. Tous les chevaux, tous les chars du Pharaon, sa cavalerie et son armée se déployèrent, contre le camp, en face de Béelséphon.
And they pursued Egypt after them and they overtook them encamped at the sea every horse of [the] chariotry of Pharaoh and horsemen his and army his at Pi-hahiroth before Baal-Zephon.
10 Le Pharaon s'approcha; et les fils d'Israël, ayant levé les yeux, virent les Égyptiens campés derrière eux, et ils eurent grande crainte. Les fils d'Israël invoquèrent le Seigneur.
And Pharaoh he drew near and they lifted up [the] people of Israel eyes their and there! Egypt - [was] marching after them and they were afraid exceedingly and they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh.
11 Et ils dirent à Moïse: C'est parce que nous n'avions pas de tombeaux en Égypte, que tu nous as amenés pour mourir dans le désert. Pourquoi nous as-tu fait cela en nous tirant de l'Égypte?
And they said to Moses ¿ because not there not [were] graves in Egypt you brought us to die in the wilderness what? this have you done to us by bringing out us from Egypt.
12 N'est-ce point là ce que nous te disions en Égypte: Laisse-nous servir les Égyptiens; mieux vaut pour nous les servir que d'aller périr dans le désert.
¿ Not [is] this the word which we spoke to you in Egypt saying cease from us so let us serve Egypt for [is] better for us serving Egypt than to die us in the wilderness.
13 Rassurez-vous, répondit Moïse au peuple, faites halte, et soyez attentifs au salut que le Seigneur va vous envoyer aujourd'hui même. Ces Égyptiens que vous apercevez en ce moment, vous ne les verrez plus à jamais.
And he said Moses to the people may not you be afraid stand firm and see [the] deliverance of Yahweh which he will bring about for you this day for which you have seen Egypt this day not you will repeat to see them again until perpetuity.
14 Le Seigneur combattra pour vous, pendant que vous resterez tranquilles.
Yahweh he will fight for you and you you will keep quiet!
15 Et le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Que cries-tu vers moi? Parle aux fils d'Israël, et qu'ils lèvent leur camp.
And he said Yahweh to Moses why? are you crying out to me speak to [the] people of Israel so they may set out.
16 Pour toi, prends ta baguette: étends la main sur la mer, ouvre ses flots; les fils d'Israël entreront au milieu de la mer comme sur un sol affermi.
And you raise staff your and stretch out hand your over the sea and divide it so they may go [the] people of Israel in [the] middle of the sea on the dry ground.
17 Et j'endurcirai le cœur du Pharaon et de tous les Égyptiens; ils y entreront après vous, et je serai glorifié en ce Pharaon, en son armée entière, en ses chars et en sa cavalerie.
And I here I [am] about to make strong [the] heart of Egypt so they may go after them and I will gain honor by Pharaoh and by all army his by chariot[s] his and by horsemen his.
18 Et tous les Égyptiens connaîtront que je suis le Seigneur, lorsque je me serai glorifié en ce Pharaon, en ses chars et en ses chevaux.
And they will know Egypt that I [am] Yahweh when gain honor I by Pharaoh by chariot[s] his and by horsemen his.
19 Cependant, l'ange du Seigneur qui précédait les fils d'Israël, changea de place et passa derrière eux; la colonne de nuée, quittant leur front, se posa derrière eux.
And he set out [the] angel of God who had been going before [the] camp of Israel and he went behind them and it set out [the] pillar of cloud from before them and it stood behind them.
20 Elle se mit entre le camp des Égyptiens et le camp des fils d'Israël, et s'y tint; il y eut obscurité et ténèbres; les deux camps étaient séparés par la nuit, et, durant toute la nuit, ils ne se rejoignirent point.
And it went between - [the] camp of Egypt and between [the] camp of Israel and it was the cloud and the darkness and it lit up the night and not it drew near this to this all the night.
21 Alors, Moïse étendit la main sur la mer, et le Seigneur, durant toute la nuit, fit souffler un vent violent sur la mer: les flots s'ouvrirent ' et la mer fut à sec.
And he stretched out Moses hand his over the sea and he drove Yahweh - the sea by a wind an east wind strong all the night and he made the sea into dry ground and they were divided the waters.
22 Et les fils d'Israël entrèrent au milieu de la mer comme sur un sol affermi; les eaux formaient un, mur à droite et un mur à gauche.
And they went [the] people of Israel in [the] middle of the sea on the dry ground and the water for them [was] a wall from right their and from left their.
23 Les Égyptiens les poursuivirent; toute la cavalerie du Pharaon, les chars et les écuyers entrèrent à leur suite au milieu des flots.
And they pursued Egypt and they went after them every horse of Pharaoh chariotry his and horsemen his into [the] middle of the sea.
24 La veille du matin arrivée, le Seigneur abaissa ses regards sur l'armée des Égyptiens, du milieu de la colonne de nuée et de feu, et il confondit l'armée des Égyptiens.
And it was in [the] watch of the morning and he looked down Yahweh to [the] camp of Egypt in a pillar of fire and cloud and he confused [the] camp of Egypt.
25 Il embarrassa les essieux de leurs chars, il les poussa violemment; et les Égyptiens se dirent: Fuyons loin de la face d'Israël, car le Seigneur combat pour eux contre nous.
And he turned aside [the] wheel[s] of chariots its and he caused to drive it with difficulty and it said Egypt let me flee from before Israel for Yahweh [is] fighting for them (against Egypt. *LB(ha)*)
26 Mais le Seigneur dit à Moïse: Étends la main sur la mer, que l'eau reprenne son cours, qu'elle couvre les Égyptiens, les chars et les écuyers.
And he said Yahweh to Moses stretch out hand your over the sea so they may return the waters over Egypt over chariot[s] its and over horsemen its.
27 Et Moïse étendit la main sur la mer; comme le jour paraissait, l'eau commença à reprendre sa place, et les Égyptiens s'enfuyaient devant les eaux, et le Seigneur confondit les Égyptiens au milieu de la mer.
And he stretched out Moses hand his over the sea and it returned the sea to [the] turning of morning to normal [state] its and Egypt [were] fleeing to meet it and he shook off Yahweh Egypt in [the] middle of the sea.
28 L'eau, qui reprenait sa place, couvrait les chars, et les écuyers, et toute l'armée du Pharaon: de tous ceux qui, derrière Israël, étaient entrés dans la mer, il n'en échappa pas un seul.
And they returned the waters and they covered the chariot[s] and the horsemen to all [the] army of Pharaoh which had gone after them in the sea not it remained among them up to one.
29 Cependant, les fils d'Israël avaient marché à pied sec au fond de la nier, l'eau fortifiant pour eux un mur à droite et un mur à gauche.
And [the] people of Israel they walked on the dry ground in [the] middle of the sea and the water for them [was] a wall from right their (and from left their *LB(ah)*)
30 En ce jour-là, le Seigneur sauva Israël des mains des Égyptiens; et Israël vit les cadavres des Égyptiens sur les bords de la mer.
and he delivered Yahweh on the day that Israel from [the] hand of Egypt and it saw Israel Egypt dead on [the] shore of the sea.
31 Alors, Israël vit la grande main du Seigneur; il vit comme elle avait frappé les Égyptiens; et le peuple eut crainte du Seigneur; il crut en Dieu et en son serviteur Moïse.
And it saw Israel the hand great which he had used Yahweh on Egypt and they feared the people Yahweh and they believed in Yahweh and in Moses servant his.
