Exode 13

1 Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

2 Consacre-moi tout premier-né, tout être qui aura ouvert des entrailles maternelles parmi les fils de mon peuple, depuis l'homme jusqu'aux bestiaux; il est à moi.

Sanctifie vnto me all the first borne: that is, euery one that first openeth the wombe among the children of Israel, as well of man as of beast: for it is mine.

3 Moïse dit donc au peuple: Souvenez-vous de ce jour où vous êtes sortis de la terre d'Égypte et de la maison de servitude, d'où le Seigneur nous a tirés par sa main puissante: ce jour-là vous ne mangerez pas de levain

Then Moses sayd vnto the people, Remember this day in the which ye came out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage: for by a mightie hande the Lord brought you out from thence: therefore no leauened bread shall bee eaten.

4 Vous partez aujourd'hui dans la lune des nouveaux blés.

This day come yee out in the moneth of Abib.

5 Et lorsque le Seigneur vous aura conduits en la terre des Chananéens, des Hettéens, des Amorrhéens, des Évéens, des Jébuséens, des Gergéséens et des Phérézéens, terre qu'il a promis à vos pères de vous donner, terre où coulent le lait et le miel, vous observerez en cette lune cette loi religieuse.

Now when the Lord hath brought thee into the land of the Canaanites, and Hittites, and Amorites, and Hiuites, and Iebusites (which he sware vnto thy fathers, that he woulde giue thee, a land flowing with milke and honie) then thou shalt keepe this seruice in this moneth.

6 Pendant six jours vous mangerez des azymes; le septième jour, c'est la fête du Seigneur.

Seuen dayes shalt thou eate vnleauened bread, and the seuenth day shall be the feast of the Lord.

7 Vous mangerez des azymes sept jours; on ne verra pas de pain levé, vous n'aurez pas de levain en tout votre territoire.

Vnleauened bread shall bee eaten seuen dayes, and there shall no leauened bread be seene with thee, nor yet leauen be seene with thee in all thy quarters.

8 En ce jour-là, tu instruiras ton fils, disant: C'est à cause de ce qu'a fait pour moi le Seigneur lorsque nous sommes sortis d'Égypte.

And thou shalt shew thy sonne in that day, saying, This is done, because of that which the Lord did vnto me, when I came out of Egypt.

9 Et ce sera pour toi un signe, attaché à ta main, un mémorial devant tes yeux, afin que la loi du Seigneur soit sur tes lèvres; car c'est par une main puissante que le Seigneur t'a tiré de l'Égypte.

And it shalbe a signe vnto thee vpon thine hande, and for a remembrance betweene thine eyes, that the Lawe of the Lord may be in thy mouth: for by a strong hand the Lord brought thee out of Egypt.

10 Et, dans la suite des jours, vous observerez cette loi au temps marqué.

Keepe therefore this ordinance in his season appoynted from yeere to yeere.

11 Lorsque le Seigneur ton Dieu t'aura introduit en la terre des Chananéens, qu'il a promise à tes pères, et qu'il te donnera,

And when the Lord shall bring thee into the lande of the Canaanites, as hee sware vnto thee and to thy fathers, and shall giue it thee,

12 Tu mettras à part, pour le Seigneur, tout mâle ayant ouvert les entrailles de sa mère; tu consacreras au Seigneur, parmi le bétail et parmi les menus troupeaux, tout mâle qui aura ouvert les entrailles de sa mère, parmi tout ce qui naîtra, tu consacreras ainsi les mâles au Seigneur.

Then thou shalt set apart vnto the Lord all that first openeth the wombe: also euery thing that first doeth open the wombe, and commeth forth of thy beast: the males shalbe the Lordes.

13 En échange de tout ânon, ayant ouvert les entrailles de l'ânesse, tu pourras donner une brebis; si tu ne l'échanges, tu en paieras la rançon; tu paieras la rançon. de tout premier-né de tes fils.

But euery first foale of an asse, thou shalt redeeme with a lambe: and if thou redeeme him not, then thou shalt breake his necke: likewise all the first borne of man among thy sonnes shalt thou bye out.

14 Et lorsque ton fils t'interrogera sur ces choses, disant: Pourquoi cela? Dis-lui: Parce que le Seigneur, par sa main puissante, nous a tirés de la terre d'Égypte et de la maison de servitude,

And when thy sonne shall aske thee to morowe, saying, What is this? thou shalt then say vnto him, With a mightie hande the Lord brought vs out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

15 Et que, quand le Pharaon s'est endurci à ne point nous congédier, il a fait périr tout premier-né en la terre d'Égypte, depuis le premier-né des hommes jusqu'au premier-né des bestiaux. Voilà pourquoi je sacrifie au Seigneur toute tête de bétail qui a ouvert les entrailles de sa mère; et pourquoi je rachèterai tout premier-né de mes fils.

For when Pharaoh was harde hearted against our departing, the Lord then slewe all the first borne in the lande of Egypt: from the first borne of man euen to the first borne of beast: therefore I sacrifice vnto the Lord all the males that first open the wombe, but all the first borne of my sonnes I redeeme.

16 Ce sera là un signe attaché à ta main, et un mémorial devant tes yeux; car c'est par une main puissante que le Seigneur t'a tiré de l'Égypte.

And it shalbe as a token vpon thine hand, and as frontlets betweene thine eyes, that the Lord brought vs out of Egypt by a mightie hande.

17 Or, lorsque le Pharaon eut congédié le peuple, Dieu ne montra pas aux fils d'Israël la route qui passe par la terre des Philistins, quoique ce fût la plus courte. Car, dit le Seigneur, prenons garde que le peuple ne se repente, en prévoyant des combats, et qu'il ne retourne en Égypte.

Nowe when Pharaoh had let the people go, God caried them not by the way of the Philistims countrey, though it were neerer: (for God sayd, Lest the people repent whe they see warre, and turne againe to Egypt)

18 Dieu lui fit faire un détour par le chemin qui traverse le désert jusqu'à la mer Rouge. Ce fut la cinquième génération des fils d'Israël qui sortit de la terre d'Égypte.

But God made the people to go about by the way of the wildernesse of the red sea: and the children of Israel went vp armed out of the land of Egypt.

19 Moïse prit avec lui les ossements de Joseph: car celui-ci avait adjuré sous serment les fils d'Israël, et il avait dit: Le Seigneur vous visitera, et vous emporterez d'ici mes ossements avec vous.

(And Moses tooke the bones of Ioseph with him: for he had made the children of Israel sweare, saying, God will surely visite you, and ye shall take my bones away hence with you)

20 Les fils d'Israël allèrent de Soccoth camper à Othom vers le désert.

So they tooke their iourney from Succoth, and camped in Etham in the edge of the wildernesse.

21 Dieu les guidait, le jour, par une colonne de nuée pour leur montrer la route; la nuit, par une colonne de feu.

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloude to leade them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to giue them light, that they might go both by day and by night.

22 Jamais, devant le peuple entier, la colonne de nuée ne manqua pendant le jour, ni la colonne de feu pendant la nuit.

He tooke not away the pillar of ye cloude by day, nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people.
