Deutéronome 6
1 Voici les commandements, les jugements et les ordonnances que le Seigneur notre Dieu a prescrit de vous enseigner, pour que vous les mettiez en pratique dans la terre où vous allez entrer, et qui sera votre héritage;
These ben the comaundementis, and cerymonyes, and domes, whiche youre Lord God comaundide that Y schulde teche you, and that ye do tho in the lond to which ye passen ouer to welde;
2 Pour que vous craigniez le Seigneur votre Dieu, et que vous observiez tous ses commandements et ses jugements que je vous intime aujourd'hui, vous et vos fils, et les fils de vos fils, tous les jours de votre vie, afin que vous viviez de longs jours.
that thou drede thi Lord God, and kepe alle hise comaundementis, and heestis, whiche Y comaunde to thee, and to thi sones, and sones of sones, in alle the daies of thi lijf, that thi daies be lengthid.
3 Ecoute, Israël, veille à les observer, afin que tu prospères et que tu multiplies grandement, comme l'a promis le Seigneur Dieu de tes pères, qui te donne une terre ou coulent le lait et le miel:
Thou Israel, here, and kepe, that thou do tho thingis whiche the Lord comaundide to thee, and that it be wel to thee, and thou be multiplied more, as the Lord God of thi fadris bihiyte, to yyue to thee a lond flowynge with mylk and hony.
4 voici les jugements et les ordonnances que le Seigneur a prescrits aux fils d'Israël dans le désert, après leur sortie de la terre d'Egypte. Ecoute, Israël: le Seigneur notre Dieu est le seul Seigneur.
Thou Israel, here, thi Lord God is o God.
5 Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton esprit, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force.
Thou schalt loue thi Lord God of al thin herte, and of al thi soule, and of al thi strengthe.
6 Et les commandements que je t'intime aujourd'hui demeureront dans ton cœur et en ton âme;
And these wordis whiche Y comaunde to thee to dai, schulen be in thin herte;
7 Tu les enseigneras à tes enfants, tu les répèteras devant eux, assis en ta maison, marchant sur les chemins, te mettant au lit, et te levant.
and thou schalt telle tho to thi sones, and thou schalt thenke on tho, sittynge in thin hows, and goynge in the weie, slepynge, and rysinge.
8 Tu les attacheras comme un signe à ta main; ils resteront fixés devant tes yeux.
And thou schalt bynde tho as a signe in thin hond; and tho schulen be, and schulen be moued bifor thin iyen; and thou schalt write tho in the lyntel,
9 Tu les écriras sur le seuil de tes maisons, sur les montants de tes portes.
and in the doris of thin hows.
10 Et lorsque le Seigneur ton Dieu t'aura introduit en la terre qu'il a promise à tes pères Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, pour te donner des villes grandes et belles, que tu n'as pas bâties,
And whanne thi Lord God hath brouyt thee in to the lond, for which he swoor to thi fadris, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and hath youe to thee grete citees, and beeste, whiche thou bildidist not,
11 Des maisons pleines de tous biens, que tu n'as pas remplies; des citernes revêtues de pierres, que tu n'as point taillées; des vignes et des oliviers, que tu n'as point plantés; lorsque tu auras mangé et que tu te seras rassasié,
housis fulle of alle richessis, whiche thou madist not, and cisternes, which thou diggedist not, `places of vynes, and `places of olyues, whiche thou plauntidist not,
12 Sois attentif à ne point oublier le Seigneur ton Dieu, qui t'a fait sortir de la terre d'Egypte, de la maison de servitude.
and thou hast ete, and art fillid,
13 Tu craindras le Seigneur ton Dieu, tu ne serviras que lui, tu t'attacheras à lui, tu jureras par son nom.
be war diligentli, lest thou foryete the Lord, that ladde thee out of the lond of Egipt, fro the hows of seruage. Thou schalt drede thi Lord God, and thou schalt serue hym aloone, `bi seruyce due to God onely, and thou schalt swere bi his name.
14 Ne marche point à la suite d'autres dieux, des dieux des nations qui t'entourent;
Ye schulen not go aftir alien goddis, of alle hethen men that ben `in youre cumpas;
15 Car le Seigneur ton Dieu est jaloux de toi; crains que le Seigneur ton Dieu, irrité contre toi, ne t'extermine sur la face de la terre.
for God is a feruent louyere, thi Lord God is in the myddis of thee, lest ony tyme the `strong veniaunce of thi Lord God be wrooth ayens thee, and do awei thee fro `the face of the erthe.
16 Tu ne tenteras point le Seigneur ton Dieu, comme vous l'avez fait le jour de la tentation;
Thou schalt not tempte thi Lord God, as thou temptidist in the place of temptyng.
17 Tu observeras les commandements du Seigneur ton Dieu, les témoignages et les ordonnances qu'il t'a fait connaître;
Kepe thou the comaundementis of thi Lord God, and the witnessyngis, and cerymonyes, whiche he comaundide to thee;
18 Tu feras ce qui est agréable et bon aux yeux du Seigneur ton Dieu, afin que tu prospères, que tu entres en la terre fortunée que le Seigneur a promise à tes pères, et qu'elle soit ton héritage,
and do thou that that is plesaunt and good in the siyt of the Lord, that it be wel to thee, and that thou entre, and welde the beste lond, of which the Lord swoor to thi fadris,
19 Après que tu auras chassé devant toi tous tes ennemis, comme l'a dit le Seigneur.
that he schulde do awey alle thin enemyes bifor thee, as he spak.
20 Et lorsque à l'avenir ton fils te questionnera, disant: Quels sont les témoignages, les ordonnances et les jugements que le Seigneur notre Dieu nous a prescrits?
And whanne thi sone schal axe thee to morewe, that is, in tyme comyng, and schal seie, What wolen these witnessyngis, and cerymonyes, and domes to hem silf, whiche oure Lord God comaundide to vs?
21 Tu répondras à ton fils: Nous étions esclaves du Pharaon en la terre d'Egypte, et le Seigneur nous a fait sortir de cette contrée par une main puissante et un bras très-haut.
thou schalt seie to hym, We weren `seruauntis of Farao in Egipt, and the Lord ledde vs out of Egipt, in strong hond;
22 Le Seigneur a fait devant nous des signes, des prodiges éclatants, et mauvais pour l'Egypte, le Pharaon et sa famille.
and he dide myraclis, and grete wondris, and werste, `that is, moost peyneful veniaunces, in Egipt, ayens Farao and al his hows, in oure siyt.
23 Et il nous a fait sortir de cette terre, pour nous donner celle qu'il avait promise à nos pères.
And he ledde vs out therof, that he schulde yyue to vs led yn, the lond of which he swoor to oure fadris.
24 Et le Seigneur nous a prescrit de suivre tous ces préceptes, de craindre le Seigneur notre Dieu, afin que tous les jours nous soient prospères, et que nous vivions comme aujourd'hui.
And the Lord comaundide to vs, that we do alle these lawful thingis, and drede oure Lord God, that it be wel to vs in alle the daies of oure lijf, as it is to dai.
25 Et sa miséricorde sera avec nous, si nous sommes attentifs à observer ces commandements devant le Seigneur notre Dieu, comme il nous l'a prescrit.
And he schal be merciful to vs, if we schulen do and kepe alle hise heestis, bifor oure Lord God, as he comaundide to vs.
