Deutéronome 22
1 Si tu vois errant dans le chemin le bœuf de ton frère, ou sa brebis, tu ne les y laisseras pas; tu te hâteras de les ramener à ton frère et tu les lui rendras.
Thou shalt not see the ox of thy brother or his sheep, going astray, and turn away from them, —thou shalt, bring them back unto thy brother.
2 Si ton frère ne demeure point près de toi, si tu ne le connais pas, tu mèneras la bête en ta maison, ou elle restera jusqu'à ce que ton frère la réclame, alors tu la lui rendras.
And, if thy brother be not nigh unto thee or thou know him not, then shalt thou make room for it within thee own shed and it shall be with thee, until thy brother seek after it, when thou shalt return it unto him.
3 Tu feras de même pour son âne, pour son manteau, pour tout ce qu'aura perdu ton frère; quoi que ce soit qu'il ait perdu, si tu le trouves, tu ne pourras pas le négliger.
And, so, shalt thou do with his ass, and, so, shalt thou do with his mantle and, so, shalt thou do with any lost thing of thy brother’s, which shall go astray from him and thou shalt find, —thou mayest not turn away.
4 Aussitôt que tu auras vu l'âne de ton frère ou son bœuf tombé dans le chemin, tu ne passeras pas outre sans l'aider à le relever.
Thou shalt not see the ass of thy brother or his ox fallen in the way, and turn away from them, —thou shalt, raise, them with him.
5 La femme ne portera pas de vêtements d'homme, l'homme ne portera pas de robe de femme; quiconque fait ces choses est en abomination au Seigneur ton Dieu.
A woman shall not have on the wearing apparel of a man, nor shall a man put on the mantle of a woman; for an abomination to Yahweh thy God, is any one who doeth these things.
6 Si tu trouves devant toi dans le chemin, ou sur un arbre, ou à terre, un nid d'oiseau, avec les petits ou les œufs, et la mère qui les couve, tu ne prendras pas la mère en même temps que sa couvée;
When a bird’s-nest chanceth to be before thee, —in the way, in any tree or upon the ground, whether with nestlings or eggs, and, the mother, be sitting upon the nestlings or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the mother upon the young;
7 Tu laisseras aller la mère et n'emporteras que la couvée, afin que tu sois heureux et que tu vives de longs jours.
thou shalt, let go, the mother, and then, her young, mayest thou take for thyself, —that it may go well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.
8 Si tu achèves de bâtir une maison, tu y mettras une balustrade, et tu n'auras point occasionné de meurtre en ta maison, si quelqu'un vient à tomber de la terrasse.
When thou buildest a new house, then shalt thou make a parapet to thy roof, so shalt thou not treasure up blood-guiltiness against thy house, for he that is in danger of falling might fall therefrom.
9 Tu ne sèmeras pas dans ta vigne de graines de diverses espèces, de peur que le grain que tu aurais semé ne soit consacré en même temps que le fruit de ta vigne.
Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with two sorts of seed, —lest the fulness of the seed which thou sowest, and the increase of thy vineyard be profaned.
10 Tu n'attelleras pas ensemble pour labourer un bœuf et un âne.
Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together,
11 Tu ne te revêtiras pas d'étoffes trompeuses de laine et de lin tissus ensemble.
Thou shalt not put on linsey-woolsey, of wool and flax together.
12 Tu te feras des torsades sur les quatre franges des manteaux que tu porteras.
Tassels, shalt thou make thee, —on the four corners of thy vesture, wherewith thou dost cover thyself.
13 Si un homme a pris une femme, si, ayant cohabité avec elle, il la prend en haine.
When a man taketh a wife, —and goeth in unto her and hateth her;
14 S'il la flétrit par ses prétextes, s'il lui donne un mauvais renom, disant: J'ai pris cette femme, j'ai eu commerce avec elle, je n'ai point trouvé chez elle les signes de la virginité,
and raiseth against her occasions of speech, and bringeth upon her an evil name, and saith—This woman, I took, and approached her, and found not that she had the tokens of virginity,
15 Le père et la mère de la femme présenteront aux anciens, devant la porte de la ville, les preuves de la virginité de leur enfant;
then shall the father of the damsel and her mother take and bring forth the tokens of the virginity of the damsel, unto the elders of the city, in the gate;
16 Le père et la mère de la femme diront aux anciens: J'ai donné ma fille que voici pour femme à cet homme et il l'a prise en haine,
and the father of the damsel shall say unto the elders, —My daughter, gave I unto this man to wife and he hated her;
17 Et il la flétrit par ses prétextes, disant: Je n'ai point trouvé à ta fille les signes de la virginité. Or, voici les preuves de la virginité de ma fille; à ces mots ils déploieront le vêtement devant les anciens de la ville.
and lo! he, hath raised occasions of speech, saying—I found not that thy daughter had the tokens of virginity and yet, these, are the tokens of the virginity of my daughter. And they shall spread out the garment before the elders of the city.
18 Alors, les anciens prendront le mari et lui feront une réprimande.
Then shall the elders of that city take the man, and chastise him;
19 Puis, ils le condamneront à une amende de cent sicles, qu'ils donneront au père de la jeune femme, parce que l'époux aura terni le renom d'une vierge israélite; celle-ci restera sa femme, et il ne pourra jamais la répudier.
and fine him a hundred [shekels] of silver and give unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought an evil name upon a virgin of Israel, and she shall remain his wife, he may not put her away, all his days.
20 Mais si les paroles de l'époux sont véritables, si l'on n'a point trouvé chez la jeune femme les signes de la virginité,
But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found with the damsel,
21 On entraînera la jeune femme devant la maison de son père; elle sera lapidée, elle mourra, parce qu'elle se sera livrée à l'impudicité parmi les fils d'Israël, et se sera prostituée dans la maison de son père; ainsi vous aurez déraciné du milieu de vous le mal.
then shall they bring forth the damsel into the entrance of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die, because she hath wrought wickedness in Israel, by committing unchastity in her father’s house, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.
22 Si un homme est trouvé couché avec la femme d'autrui, faites-les mourir tous les deux, la femme et l'homme surpris avec elle, et tous aurez déraciné parmi vous le mal.
When a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then shall, both, of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman, so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of Israel.
23 Si une jeune vierge est fiancée à un homme, et si un autre homme l'ayant rencontrée dans la ville a eu commerce avec elle,
When a damsel that is a virgin is betrothed to a husband, —and a man findeth her in the city, and lieth with her,
24 Conduisez-les tous les deux devant la porte de la ville, lapidez-les, qu'ils meurent: la jeune fille, parce que dans la ville, elle n'aura point crié au secours; l'homme, parce qu'il aura souillé la femme de son prochain; ainsi vous aurez déraciné parmi vous le mal.
then shall ye bring them, both, out unto the gate of that city, and stone them with stones that they die, the damsel, because she made not an outcry in the city, and the man because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.
25 Mais si l'homme a surpris la fille aux champs, et si, usant de violence, il a eu commerce avec elle, ne faites périr que l'homme qui aura abusé d'elle.
But if in the field, the man find the betrothed damsel and the man force her and lie with her, then shall the man that lay with her die he alone;
26 Quant à la jeune fille, elle ne sera point coupable du crime capital, mais l'homme sera punissable autant que s'il s'était levé contre son prochain et l'eût tué.
but, unto the damsel, shalt thou do nothing, the damsel, is not guilty of a sin worthy of death, for as when a man riseth up against his neighbour, and smiteth him so as to take away life, so, is this matter;
27 Parce qu'il aura surpris la jeune fiancée dans les champs, et que, quand même elle eut crié, il n'y aurait eu là personne pour la secourir.
for in the field, he found her, —the betrothed damsel, made an outcry, and there was none to save her.
28 Si un homme rencontre une jeune fille vierge et non fiancée, si, usant de violence, il a commerce avec elle et s'il est surpris,
When a man findeth a damsel that is a virgin who is not betrothed, and layeth hold of her and lieth with her, and they are found,
29 Il donnera au père de la jeune fille cinquante doubles drachmes d'argent, et elle sera sa femme, car il aura attenté à son honneur: il ne pourra jamais la répudier.
then shall the man who lay with her give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, —and she shall be, his, wife, because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away, all his days.
30 Nul ne prendra la femme de son père, et ne soulèvera la couverture de son père.
A man shall not take his father’s wife, —neither shall he turn aside his father’s coverlet.
