2 Samuel 21
1 Et du temps de David, il y eut une famine qui dura trois années consécutives. David questionna le Seigneur, et le Seigneur dit: Sur Saül et sur sa maison pèse une iniquité qui demande encore de son sang, parce qu'il a mis à mort les Gabaonites.
And it was a famine in [the] days of David three years year after year and he sought David [the] face of Yahweh. And he said Yahweh because of Saul and because of [the] house of blood on that he put to death the Gibeonites.
2 Le roi David appela les Gabaonites, et il s'entretint avec eux. Or, les Gabaonites ne sont point fils d'Israël, mais un débris des Amorrhéens, et les fils d'Israël leur avaient prêté serment; malgré cela, Saül entreprit de les exterminer, dans son zèle pour les fils d'Israël et de Juda.
And he summoned the king the Gibeonites and he said to them and the Gibeonites not [were] from [the] people of Israel they that except from [the] remnant of the Amorite[s] and [the] people of Israel they had sworn an oath to them and he had sought Saul to strike down them because was zealous he for [the] people of Israel and Judah.
3 David dit donc aux Gabaonites: Que puis-je faire pour vous? comment pourrai-je vous apaiser afin que vous bénissiez l'héritage du Seigneur?
And he said David to the Gibeonites what? will I do for you and how? will I make amends and bless [the] inheritance of Yahweh.
4 Et les Gabaonites répondirent: Entre nous et entre Saül et sa famille, il n'est question ni d'argent, ni d'or, et nul en Israël ne doit, à cause de nous, mourir. Et David reprit: Que voulez-vous dire? Parlez, je le ferai pour vous.
And they said to him the Gibeonites not (to us *Q(K)*) silver and gold with Saul and with house his and not to us a man to put to death in Israel and he said what? [are] you saying I will do for you.
5 Et ils dirent au roi: L'homme qui a tourné contre nous ses forces, qui nous a traqués, qui a conçu le vain projet de nous exterminer, nous voulons l'effacer de sorte qu'il ne reste rien de lui, sur tout le territoire d'Israël.
And they said to the king the man who he made an end of us and who he planned to us we were destroyed from standing in all [the] territory of Israel.
6 Livre-nous sept de ses fils, afin qu'en Gabaon, ville de Saül, nous les exposions au soleil pour le Seigneur; sept fils de Saül, choisis pour le Seigneur. Et le roi dit: Je vous les livrerai.
(Let it be given *Q(K)*) to us seven men from descendants his and we will impale them to Yahweh at Gibeah of Saul [the] chosen one of Yahweh. And he said the king I I will give [them].
7 Le roi épargna Miphiboseth, fils de Jonathan, fils de Saül, à cause du serment du Seigneur que s'étaient mutuellement prêté Jonathan et David.
And he had compassion the king on Mephi-bosheth [the] son of Jonathan [the] son of Saul on [the] oath of Yahweh which [was] between them between David and between Jonathan [the] son of Saul.
8 Mais il prit les deux fils de Respha, fille d'Ais, qu'elle avait eus de Saül: Hermoni et Miphiboseth, et les cinq fils de Michol, fille de Saül, qu'elle avait eus d'Esdriel, fils de Berzelli, le Moülathite.
And he took the king [the] two [the] sons of Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah whom she had borne to Saul Armoni and Mephibosheth and [the] five [the] sons of Michal [the] daughter of Saul whom she had borne to Adriel [the] son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
9 Et il les remit aux Gabaonites, qui les exposèrent au soleil, sur la montagne, devant le Seigneur, et tous les sept succombèrent ensemble. Ils moururent dans les premiers jours de la moisson, comme on commençait à couper les orges.
And he gave them in [the] hand of the Gibeonites and they impaled them on the mountain before Yahweh and they fell ([the] seven of them *Q(K)*) together (and they *Q(k)*) they were put to death in [the] days of harvest in the first (at [the] beginning of *Q(K)*) [the] harvest of barley.
10 Et Respha, fille d'Aïa, prit un cilice, et, au commencement de la moisson des orges, elle se plaça près de la roche; elle y demeura jusqu'à ce que l'eau du ciel tombât sur les morts, et elle ne laissa pas les oiseaux du ciel se poser sur eux, pendant le jour, ni les bêtes fauves des champs les atteindre, pendant la nuit.
And she took Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah sackcloth and she spread out it for herself to the rock from [the] beginning of harvest until it was poured out water on them from the heavens and not she permitted [the] bird[s] of the heavens to rest on them by day and [the] animal[s] of the field night.
11 On alla dire à David ce que faisait Respha, fille d'Aïa, concubine de Saül; puis, on détacha les cadavres; et Dan, fils de Joa, de la race des géants, les prit.
And it was told to David [that] which she had done Rizpah [the] daughter of Aiah [the] concubine of Saul.
12 Après cela, David partit, et il reprit les ossements de Saül et ceux de Jonathan, aux hommes de Jabès-Galaad qui les avaient dérobés dans les rues de Bethsam, où les Philistins les avaient cloués, le jour de leur victoire sur Saül en Gelboé.
And he went David and he took [the] bones of Saul and [the] bones of Jonathan son his from with [the] citizens of Jabesh Gilead who they had stolen them from [the] open square of Beth Shan where (they had hung up them there [the] Philistines *Q(K)*) on [the] day struck down [the] Philistines Saul on Gilboa.
13 Et il rapporta de cette ville les ossements de Saül et ceux de Jonathan, et il recueillit les ossements des sept exposés au soleil.
And he brought up from there [the] bones of Saul and [the] bones of Jonathan son his and they gathered [the] bones of the impaled [men].
14 Et l'on ensevelit tous ces ossements, en Benjamin, sur les flancs de la montagne, dans le sépulcre de Cis, père de Saül; on exécuta tout ce que David avait prescrit, et après cela Dieu exauça les vœux de la terre.
And they buried [the] bones of Saul and Jonathan son his in [the] land of Benjamin at Zela in [the] tomb of Kish father his and they did all that he commanded the king and he was entreated God for the land after thus.
15 Ensuite, la guerre s'alluma encore entre les Philistins et Israël. David se mit en campagne avec ses serviteurs; dans une bataille contre les Philistins, lui-même sortit des rangs, et de l'autre côté,
And it belonged again war to the Philistines with Israel and he went down David and servants his with him and they fought with [the] Philistines and he was weary David.
16 Jesbi, de la race des géants. Celui-ci portait une javeline dont la pointe pesait trois cents sicles d'airain; à sa ceinture pendait une massue, et il pensait tuer David.
(And Ishbi-*Q(K)*) Benob who - [was] among those born of the Raphah and [the] weight of spear his [was] three hundred [the] weight of bronze and he [was] girded a new [weapon] and he said to strike down David.
17 Mais Abessa vint au secours du roi; il frappa le Philistin et il le tua. Alors, les hommes de David jurèrent et dirent: Tu ne viendras plus à la guerre avec nous, de peur que tu n'éteignes la lampe d'Israël.
And he helped him Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah and he struck the Philistine and he killed him then they swore [the] men of David to him saying not you will go out again with us for battle and not you will extinguish [the] lamp of Israel.
18 Après cela, il y eut encore un combat près de Geth avec les Philistins. Alors, Sebocha, d'Astaroth, tua Seph, de la race des géants.
And it was after thus and it was again war at Gob with [the] Philistines then he struck down Sibbecai the Hushathite Saph who [was] among those born of the Raphah.
19 Puis, il y eut une bataille à Rhom avec les Philistins, et Eléanan, fils d'Ariorgim de Bethléem, tua Goliath le Géthéen, qui portait une javeline dont le bois ressemblait au mât d'un tisserand.
And it was again war at Gob with [the] Philistines and he struck down Elhanan [the] son of Jaare-Oregim [the] Beth-lehemite Goliath the Gittite and [the] wood of spear his [was] like a beam of weavers.
20 Il y eut encore un combat à Geth. Et il y avait un homme de grande taille, ayant six doigts à chaque main et six doigts à chaque pied, en tout vingt-quatre doigts. Et il était aussi de la race des géants.
And it was again war at Gath and he was - a man of (stature *Q(K)*) and [the] fingers of hands his and [the] toes of feet his [were] six and six [was] twenty and four [the] number and also he he was born to the Raphah.
21 Et il défiait Israël; il fut tué par Jonathan, fils de Sémeï, frère de David.
And he taunted Israel and he struck down him Jonathan [the] son of (Shimeah *Q(K)*) [the] brother of David.
22 Tous les quatre étaient issus des géants, et ils étaient nés à Geth dans la famille de Rhapha, et ils tombèrent sous les coups de David ou de ses serviteurs.
Four these they were born to the Raphah in Gath and they fell by [the] hand of David and by [the] hand of servants his.
