1 En la dix-septième année du règne de Phacée, fils de Romélie, Achaz, fils de Joatham, devint roi de Juda.
The seuenteenth yeere of Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, Ahaz the sonne of Iotham King of Iudah began to reigne.
2 Il avait vingt ans quand il monta sur le trône, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem; il ne fit point ce qui est droit aux yeux du Seigneur son Dieu, aussi fidèlement que David, son aïeul.
Twentie yeere olde was Ahaz, when hee began to reigne, and he reigned sixteene yeere in Ierusalem, and did not vprightly in the sight of the Lord his God, like Dauid his father:
3 Et il marcha dans la voie des rois d'Israël; même il livra son fils aux flammes de Moloch, selon l'abomination des peuples que le Seigneur avait exterminés devant la face des fils d'Israël.
But walked in the way of ye kings of Israel, yea, and made his sonne to go through the fire, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
4 Et il immola des victimes sur les hauts lieux, sur les collines, et sous tout arbre touffu.
Also he offred and burnt incense in the hie places and on the hilles, and vnder euery greene tree.
5 Alors, Rasin, roi de Syrie, et Phacée, roi d'Israël, vinrent combattre sous les murs de Jérusalem; ils assiégèrent Achaz, mais ils ne purent prévaloir sur lui.
Then Rezin king of Aram and Pekah sonne of Remaliah King of Israel came vp to Ierusalem to fight: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not ouercome him.
6 En temps-là, Rasin reprit Elath pour la Syrie, il en chassa les Juifs, et des Iduméens y vinrent; et ils y sont demeurés jusqu'à nos jours.
At the same time Rezin king of Aram restored Elath to Aram, and droue the Iewes from Elath: so the Aramites came to Elath, and dwelt there vnto this day.
7 Et Achaz envoya des messagers à Theglath-Phalasar, roi des Assyriens, disant: Moi et mon fils, nous sommes tes serviteurs; viens, sauve-moi des mains du roi de Syrie, et des mains du roi d'Israël, qui se sont levés contre moi.
Then Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser king of Asshur, saying, I am thy seruant and thy sonne: come vp, and deliuer me out of the hand of the king of Aram, and out of the hand of the King of Israel which rise vp against me.
8 Achaz prit l'argent et l'or qui se trouva dans les trésors, soit du temple, soit du palais, et il en fit présent au roi d'Assyrie.
And Ahaz tooke the siluer and the golde that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and sent a present vnto the King of Asshur.
9 Et le roi des Assyriens l'écouta; il marcha sur Damas, la prit, la dépeupla, et mit à mort le roi Rasin.
And the King of Asshur consented vnto him: and the King of Asshur went vp against Damascus. and when he had taken it, he caryed the people away to Kir, and slew Rezin.
10 Et le roi Achaz alla dans Damas à la rencontre de Theglath-Phalasar; il vit un autel à Damas, et il envoya au prêtre Urie l'image de l'autel, ses proportions, sa structure.
And King Ahaz went vnto Damascus to meete Tiglath Pileser King of Asshur: and when King Ahaz sawe the altar that was at Damascus, he sent to Vriiah the Priest the paterne of the altar, and the facion of it, and all the workemanship thereof.
11 Et le prêtre Urie bâtit un autel selon le modèle que le roi lui avait envoyé de Damas.
And Vriiah the Priest made an altar in al poyntes like to that which King Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so did Vriiah the Priest against King Ahaz came from Damascus.
12 Puis, Achaz vit l'autel et il y monta;
So when the King was come from Damascus, the King sawe the altar: and the King drewe neere to the altar and offered thereon.
13 Il fit son holocauste, son sacrifice et sa libation, et il répandit le sang de ses hosties pacifiques offertes sur l'autel
And hee burnt his burnt offering, and his meate offring, and powred his drinke offring, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offrings besides the altar,
14 D'airain qui était devant le Seigneur. Et il transporta cet autel de devant la façade du temple, du lieu entre l'autel et le temple, et il le dressa du même côté en tirant vers le nord.
And set it by the brasen altar which was before the Lord, and brought it in farther before the house betweene the altar and the house of the Lord, and set it on the North side of the altar.
15 Ensuite, le roi Achaz donna ses ordres au prêtre Urie, disant: Tu présenteras, sur le grand autel, l'holocauste du matin, les oblations du soir, l'holocauste du roi et son oblation, l'holocauste de tout le peuple, et son oblation et sa libation; tu répandras sur le même autel tout le sang de l'holocauste et tout le sang de toute autre victime, et l'autel d'airain le matin me sera réservé.
And King Ahaz commanded Vriiah the Priest, and sayde, Vpon the great altar set on fire in the morning the burnt offring, and in the euen the meate offring, and the Kings burnt offring and his meate offering, with the burnt offring of all the people of the lande, and their meate offring, and their drinke offrings: and powre thereby all the blood of the burnt offring, and all the blood of the sacrifice, and the brasen altar shalbe for me to inquire of God.
16 Et Urie le prêtre fit tout ce que lui avait prescrit le roi Achaz.
And Vriiah the Priest did according to all that King Ahaz had commanded.
17 Le roi Achaz effaça les ciselures des bassins, il enleva les cuvettes qu'ils supportaient, et il ôta, pour la mettre sur une base de pierre, la mer qui reposait sur les bœufs d'airain.
And King Ahaz brake the borders of the bases, and tooke the caldrons from off them, and tooke downe the sea from the brasen oxen that were vnder it, and put it vpon a pauement of stones.
18 Et il construisit une base pour le trône dans le temple du Seigneur, et il transporta à l'intérieur la porte extérieure par laquelle le roi entrait dans le temple, à cause du roi des Assyriens.
And the vaile for the Sabbath (that they had made in the house) and the Kings entrie without turned he to the house of the Lord, because of the King of Asshur.
19 Quant au reste de l'histoire du roi Achaz, n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Faits et gestes des rois de Juda?
Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahaz, which he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
20 Et Achaz s'endormit avec ses pères; il fut enseveli dans la ville de David, et son fils Ezéchias régna à sa place.
And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buryed with his fathers in the citie of Dauid, and Hezekiah his sonne reigned in his steade.
