2 Chroniques 3
1 Et Salomon commença à bâtir le temple du Seigneur à Jérusalem, sur le mont Moria, où le Seigneur était apparu à David, son père, au lieu que David avait préparé, dans l'aire d'Orna le Jébuséen.
And Solomon beginneth to build the house of Jehovah, in Jerusalem, in the mount of Moriah, where He appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite,
2 Il commença à bâtir le second mois de la quatrième année de son règne.
and he beginneth to build in the second [day], in the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
3 Et voici comme Salomon commença à bâtir le temple du Seigneur: il lui donna soixante coudées de longueur (ce fut la première mesure), et vingt coudées de largeur.
And [in] these hath Solomon been instructed to build the house of God: The length [in] cubits by the former measure [is] sixty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.
4 Le portique de la façade du temple eut vingt coudées de long; c'était la largeur même de l'édifice; sa hauteur fut de cent vingt coudées; Hiram le dora avec de l'or pur, intérieurement.
As to the porch that [is] on the front, the length [is] by the front of the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty, and he overlayeth it within with pure gold.
5 Et il revêtit de lambris de cèdre le corps de l'édifice, et il le dora d'or pur, sur lequel il grava des palmiers et des chaînes.
And the large house he hath covered with fir-trees, and he doth cover it with good gold, and causeth to ascend on it palms and chains,
6 Et il orna le temple de pierres précieuses d'un vif éclat, et il le couvrit de lames d'or, et il y employa de l'or de Pharaïm.
and he overlayeth the house with precious stone for beauty, and the gold [is] gold of Parvaim,
7 Et il dora le temple, ses murs, ses portes, ses plafonds, les battants des portes, et il fit sur les parois des chérubins ciselés.
and he covereth the house, the beams, the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold, and hath graved cherubs on the walls.
8 Et il fit le Saint des saints, dont la façade avait vingt coudées de long, largeur du temple et dont les côtés étaient pareillement de vingt coudées; il le dora d'or pur du poids de six cents talents; pour les chérubins ciselés,
And he maketh the most holy house: its length [is] by the front of the breadth of the house twenty cubits, and its breadth twenty cubits, and he covereth it with good gold, to six hundred talents;
9 Les clous pesaient chacun cinquante sicles d'or; il revêtit aussi d'or l'étage supérieur.
and the weight of the nails [is] fifty shekels of gold, and the upper chambers he hath covered with gold.
10 Puis, il fit, dans le Saint des saints, deux chérubins de bois qu'il revêtit de lames d'or pur.
And he maketh in the most holy house two cherubs, image work, and he overlayeth them with gold;
11 Les ailes des chérubins avaient un déploiement de vingt coudées; chaque aile était de cinq coudées, de sorte que l'aile droite de l'un des chérubins touchait un mur, et l'aile gauche de l'autre chérubin touchait le mur opposé; [et son autre aile de cinq coudées touchait l'aile de l'autre chérubin.]
as to the wings of the cherubs, their length [is] twenty cubits, the wing of the one [is] five cubits, touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [is] five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.
12 [Et l'aile d'un chérubin était de cinq coudées atteignant le mur du temple, et son autre aile était aussi de cinq coudées, joignant l'aile de l'autre chérubin.]
And the wing of the other cherub [is] five cubits touching the wall of the house, and the other wing [is] five cubits, adhering to the wing of the other cherub.
13 Les ailes des deux chérubins étaient donc déployées, et il y avait entre les deux ailes extrêmes une distance de vingt coudées. Ils étaient en pied, le visage tourné vers l'intérieur du temple.
The wings of these cherubs are spreading forth twenty cubits, and they are standing on their feet and their faces [are] inward.
14 Il fit aussi un voile d'hyacinthe, de pourpre, d'écarlate et de lin, dans lequel étaient tissus des chérubins.
And he maketh the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and causeth cherubs to go up on it.
15 Et il fit, devant le temple, deux colonnes, hautes de trente-cinq coudées, avec des chapiteaux de cinq coudées.
And he maketh at the front of the house two pillars, thirty and five cubits in length, and the ornament that [is] on their heads five cubits.
16 Et il fit des chaînes dans l'oracle, et il les plaça sur les chapiteaux des colonnes, et il fit cent petites grenades qu'il posa sur les chaînes.
And he maketh chains in the oracle, and putteth on the heads of the pillars, and maketh a hundred pomegranates, and putteth on the chains.
17 Et il plaça les colonnes sur la façade du temple, l'une à droite, l'autre à gauche, et il appela celle de droite Rectitude, et celle de gauche Force.
And he raiseth up the pillars on the front of the temple, one on the right, and one on the left, and calleth the name of that on the right Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.
