2 Chroniques 29
1 Ezéchias avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu'il monta sur le trône, et il régna vingt-neuf ans à Jérusalem; sa mère s'appelait Abia, fille de Zacharie.
Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.
2 Et il fit ce qui est droit devant le Seigneur, se conformant à tout ce qu'avait fait David, son aïeul.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father David had done.
3 Dès qu'il fut affermi dans son royaume, le premier mois, il ouvrit les portes du temple du Seigneur, et il les restaura.
In the first month of the first year of his reign, Hezekiah opened and repaired the doors of the house of the LORD.
4 Et il introduisit dans le temple les prêtres et les lévites, et il les réunit dans l'aile orientale de l'édifice.
Then he brought in the priests and Levites and gathered them in the square on the east side.
5 Et il leur dit: Écoutez, lévites, purifiez-vous d'abord; puis, vous purifierez le temple du Dieu de vos pères, et vous rejetterez toute impureté du lien saint.
“Listen to me, O Levites,” he said. “Consecrate yourselves now and consecrate the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers. Remove from the Holy Place every impurity.
6 Car VOS père se sont pervertis et ils ont fait le mal devant le Seigneur notre Dieu; ils l'ont abandonné, ils ont détourné leur face du tabernacle du Seigneur, et s'en sont éloignés.
For our fathers were unfaithful and did evil in the sight of the LORD our God. They abandoned Him, turned their faces away from the dwelling place of the LORD, and turned their backs on Him.
7 Ils ont fermé les portes du temple, ils ont éteint les lampes, ils n'ont plus brûlé d'encens, ils ont cessé d'offrir des holocaustes dans le lieu saint du Dieu d'Israël.
They also shut the doors of the portico and extinguished the lamps. They did not burn incense or present burnt offerings in the Holy Place of the God of Israel.
8 Alors, le Seigneur s'est vivement irrité contre Juda et contre Jérusalem; il les a livrés au trouble, à l'extermination et aux railleries, comme vous l'avez vu de vos yeux.
Therefore, the wrath of the LORD has fallen upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He has made them an object of terror, horror, and mockery, as you can see with your own eyes.
9 Vos pères ont été frappés par le glaive; vos fils, vos filles et vos femmes, ont été emmenés captifs en une contrée étrangère, où ils sont encore.
For behold, this is why our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and daughters and wives are in captivity.
10 A cause de cela, il est maintenant en mon cœur de faire alliance avec le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël, et il détournera de nous sa terrible colère.
Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, so that His fierce anger will turn away from us.
11 Ne différez pas, car le Seigneur vous a choisis pour que vous vous teniez en sa présence, pour que vous le serviez et que vous brûliez devant lui de l'encens.
Now, my sons, do not be negligent, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, to minister before Him, and to burn incense.”
12 Et les lévites se levèrent, savoir: Des fils de Caath, Maath, fils d'Amasi, et Johel, fils d'Azarias; des fils de Mérari: Cis, fils d'Abdi, et Azarias, fils d'Ilaélel; des fils de Gerson: Jodaad, fils de Zemmath, et Joadam; ceux-ci descendaient de Joacha;
Then the Levites set to work: Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah from the Kohathites; Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel from the Merarites; Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah from the Gershonites;
13 Des fils d'Elisaphan: Zambri et Jehiel; des fils d'Asaph: Zacharie et Matlhanias;
Shimri and Jeuel from the Elizaphanites; Zechariah and Mattaniah from the Asaphites;
14 Des fils d'Hêman: Jehiel et Sémeï; des fils d'Idithun: Samaias et Oziel.
Jehiel and Shimei from the Hemanites; and Shemaiah and Uzziel from the Jeduthunites.
15 Et ils réunirent leurs frères, et ils se purifièrent selon l'ordre du roi, pour purifier ensuite le peuple du Seigneur, comme lui-même l'avait prescrit.
When they had assembled their brothers and consecrated themselves, they went in to cleanse the house of the LORD, according to the command of the king by the words of the LORD.
16 Et les prêtres entrèrent dans le temple du Seigneur pour le purifier, et ils rejetèrent toute impureté qu'ils trouvèrent dans le temple et dans le parvis; puis, les lévites prirent les choses impures pour les porter au torrent de Cédron.
So the priests went inside the house of the LORD to cleanse it, and they brought out to the courtyard all the unclean things that they found in the temple of the LORD. Then the Levites took these things and carried them out to the Kidron Valley.
17 La purification commença le premier jour du premier mois, pendant la nouvelle lune, et, le huitième jour, ils entrèrent dans le temple du Seigneur, et ils le purifièrent en huit jours; le seizième jour du premier mois, tout était terminé.
They began the consecration on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they reached the portico of the LORD. For eight more days they consecrated the house of the LORD itself, finishing on the sixteenth day of the first month.
18 Et ils allèrent trouver le roi Ezéchias, et ils lui dirent: Nous avons tout purifié dans le temple du Seigneur: l'autel des holocaustes et ses ustensiles, la table de proposition et ses accessoires.
Then they went in to King Hezekiah and reported, “We have cleansed the entire house of the LORD, the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the table of the showbread with all its utensils.
19 Tous les objets que le roi Achaz avait souillés pendant son règne et son apostasie, nous les avons purifiés 'et mis en ordre; voilà que tout est exposé devant l'autel du Seigneur.
Moreover, we have prepared and consecrated all the articles that King Ahaz in his unfaithfulness cast aside during his reign. They are now in front of the altar of the LORD.”
20 Et le roi Ezéchias se leva de grand matin, et il assembla tous les chefs de la ville, et il monta au temple du Seigneur.
Early the next morning King Hezekiah gathered the city officials and went up to the house of the LORD.
21 Et il offrit sept bœufs, sept béliers, sept agneaux et sept boucs, pour les péchés, pour le royaume, pour les saints et pour Israël; et il dit aux prêtres, fils d'Aaron, de monter à l'autel du Seigneur.
They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats as a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And the king commanded the priests, the descendants of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of the LORD.
22 Et ils immolèrent les bœufs, et ils recueillirent le sang, et ils le répandirent sur l'autel; et ils immolèrent les béliers, et ils répandirent le sang sur l'autel; et ils immolèrent les agneaux, et ils répandirent le sang sur l'autel.
So they slaughtered the bulls, and the priests took the blood and sprinkled it on the altar. They slaughtered the rams and sprinkled the blood on the altar. And they slaughtered the lambs and sprinkled the blood on the altar.
23 Et ils traînèrent devant le roi et devant l'assemblée entière les boucs pour les péchés, et ils imposèrent sur eux les mains;
Then they brought the goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly, who laid their hands on them.
24 Et les prêtres les immolèrent, et ils firent l'expiation en versant leur sang devant l'autel, et ils firent l'expiation en faveur de tout Israël; car le roi avait dit: L'holocauste et le sacrifice pour les péchés sont pour tout Israël.
And the priests slaughtered the goats and put their blood on the altar for a sin offering, to make atonement for all Israel, because the king had ordered the burnt offering and the sin offering for all Israel.
25 Et il établit les lévites dans le temple du Seigneur au son des cymbales, des cithares et des harpes, comme l'avait réglé le roi David, d'accord avec Gad le voyant, et Nathan le prophète; car le Seigneur transmet ses commandements par les prophètes.
Hezekiah stationed the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, harps, and lyres according to the command of David, of Gad the king’s seer, and of Nathan the prophet. For the command had come from the LORD through His prophets.
26 Les lévites furent installés au son des instruments de David, et les prêtres au son des trompettes sacrées.
The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.
27 Ensuite, Ezéchias ordonna de porter l'holocauste sur l'autel; et, lorsque l'on commença l'offrande de l'holocauste, on commença à chanter les louanges du Seigneur, au son des trompettes et des instruments de David, roi d'Israël.
And Hezekiah ordered that the burnt offering be sacrificed on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD and the trumpets began as well, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel.
28 Et toute l'Église adora, et les chantres-harpistes chantèrent, et les trompettes sonnèrent jusqu'à ce que l'holocauste fût achevé.
The whole assembly was worshiping, the singers were singing, and the trumpeters were playing. All this continued until the burnt offering was completed.
29 Et, lorsque les victimes furent consumées, le roi se prosterna, ainsi que toute l'assistance, et ils adorèrent.
When the offerings were completed, the king and all those present with him bowed down and worshiped.
30 Et le roi Ezéchias et les princes dirent aux lévites de chanter au Seigneur les psaumes tant du roi David que du prophète Asaph; ils chantèrent avec allégresse; puis, se prosternant, ils adorèrent.
Then King Hezekiah and his officials ordered the Levites to sing praises to the LORD in the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with gladness and bowed their heads and worshiped.
31 Et le roi Ézéchias prit la parole, et dit: Maintenant que vous vous êtes consacrés au Seigneur, amenez et offrez les victimes de louanges dans le temple du, Seigneur; et l'Église offrit dans le temple des sacrifices et des louanges; et ceux qui avaient le cœur plein de zèle amenèrent des holocaustes.
Then Hezekiah said, “Now that you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the LORD.” So the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all whose hearts were willing brought burnt offerings.
32 Voici le nombre des holocaustes qu'offrit l'Église: soixante-dix bœufs, cent béliers, deux cents agneaux; tous pour les holocaustes au Seigneur.
The number of burnt offerings the assembly brought was seventy bulls, a hundred rams, and two hundred lambs; all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.
33 Il y eut en outre: six cents bœufs consacrés, et trois mille brebis.
And the consecrated offerings were six hundred bulls and three thousand sheep.
34 Or, les prêtres étaient en petit nombre, et ils ne suffisaient pas à enlever les peaux des victimes; leurs frères, les lévites, les aidèrent jusqu'à ce que l'œuvre fût achevée, et que les prêtres se fussent purifiés; car les lévites sont plus promptement purifiés que les prêtres.
However, since there were not enough priests to skin all the burnt offerings, their Levite brothers helped them until the work was finished and until the priests had been consecrated. For the Levites had been more diligent in consecrating themselves than the priests had been.
35 Il y eut donc nombre de victimes pour les holocaustes; on brûla en grande quantité la graisse des hosties pacifiques, on répandit à flots les libations de l'holocauste, et les cérémonies du temple furent rétablies.
Furthermore, the burnt offerings were abundant, along with the fat of the peace offerings and the drink offerings for the burnt offerings. So the service of the house of the LORD was established.
36 Et Ezéchias et tout le peuple ressentirent une vive allégresse de ce que Dieu avait préparé cette fête à son peuple; car la chose s'était faite soudainement.
Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced at what God had prepared for the people, because everything had been accomplished so quickly.
