1 Fils de Lévi: Gerson, Caath et Mérari.
The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
2 Fils de Caath: Amram et Isaar, Hébron et Oziel.
And the sons of Kehath: 'Amram, Yizhar, and Chebron, and 'Uzziel.
3 Enfants d'Amram: Aaron, Moïse et Marie. Fils d'Aaron: Nadab et Abiud, Eléazar et Ithamar.
And the children of 'Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abihu, El'azar, and Ithamar.
4 Eléazar engendra Phinéès, et Phinéès engendra Abisué.
El'azar begat Phinehas, Phinehas begat Abishua',
5 Abisué engendra Bocci, et Bocci engendra Ozi.
And Abishua' begat Bukki, and Bukki begat 'Uzzi,
6 Ozi engendra Zaraïas, et Zaraïas engendra Mariel.
And 'Uzzi begat Zerachyah, and Zerachyah begat Merayoth,
7 Mariel engendra Amarias, et Amarias engendra Achitob.
Merayoth begat Amaryah, and Amaryah begat Achitub,
8 Achitob engendra Sadoc, et Sadoc engendra Achimaas.
And Achitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Achima'az,
9 Achimaas engendra Azarias, et Azarias engendra Johanan,
And Achima'az begat 'Azaryah, and 'Azaryah begat Jochanan,
10 Johanan engendra Azarias; ce fut lui qui exerça le sacerdoce dans le temple que Salomon bâtit à Jérusalem.
And Jochanan begat 'Azaryah, he it is that officiated as priest in the house that Solomon had built in Jerusalem;
11 Azarias engendra Amarias, et Amarias engendra Achitob.
And 'Azaryah begat Amaryah, and Amaryah begat Achitub,
12 Achitob engendra Sadoc, et Sadoc engendra Salom.
And Achitub begat Zadok, and Zadok begat Shallum,
13 Salom engendra Helcias, et Helcias engendra Azarias.
And Shallum begat Chilkiyah, and Chilkiyah begat 'Azaryah,
14 Azarias engendra Saraias, et Sareas engendra Josadac.
And 'Azaryah begat Serayah, and Serayah begat Jehozadak,
15 Josadac fut enlevé, avec Juda et Jérusalem, par Nabuchodonosor.
And Jehozadak went away, when the Lord carried Judah and Jerusalem into exile through the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
16 Fils de Lévi: Gerson, Caath et Mérari.
The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kehath, and Merari.
17 Fils de Gerson: Lobeni et Sémei.
And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni, and Shim'i.
18 Fils de Caath: Amram et Isaac, Hébron et Oziel.
And the sons of Kehath were, 'Amram, and Yizhar, and Chebron, and 'Uzziel.
19 Fils de Mérari: Mooli et Musi; voici les familles de Lévi, désignées par les noms de leurs pères.
The sons of Merari: Machli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.
20 A Gerson et Lobeni son fils succèdent Jeth fils de ce dernier, Zamath son fils,
Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jachath his son, Zimmah his son,
21 Joab son fils, Addi son fils, Zara son fils, Jethri son fils.
Yoach his son, 'Iddo his son, Zerach his son, Yeatherai his son.
22 De Caath descendent: Aminadab son fils, Coré son fils, Aser son fils,
The sons of Kehath: 'Amminadab his son, Korach his son, Assir his son,
23 Elcana son fils, Abisaph son fils, Aser son fils,
Elkanah his son, and Ebyassaph his son, and Assir his son,
24 Thaat son fils, Uriel son fils, Saül son fils.
Tachath his son, Uriel his son, 'Uzziyah his son, and Saul his son.
25 D'Elcana descendent encore: Amessi et Achimoth.
And the sons of Elkanah: 'Amassai, and Achimoth,
26 Elcana son fils, Saphi son fils, Cénaath son fils,
[And] Elkanah. The sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nachath his son.
27 Eliab son fils, Jéroboam son fils, Elcana son fils.
Eliab his son, Jerocham his son, Elkanah his son.
28 Fils de Samuel: Sari, premier-né, et Ables.
And the sons of Samuel: the first-born Vashni, and Abiyah.
29 Fils de Mérari: Mooli son fils, Lobeni son fils, Sémei son fils, Oza son fils,
The sons of Merari: Machli, Libni his son, Shim'i his son, 'Uzzah his son,
30 Samaa son fils, Aggia son fils, Asaïas son fils.
Shim'a his son, Chaggiyah his son, 'Assayah his son.
31 Et voici ceux que David institua chefs des chœurs du tabernacle, lorsqu'il eut transféré l'arche à Jérusalem.
And these are those whom David appointed for the purpose of conducting the singing in the house of the Lord, after the ark had a resting-place.
32 Et ils s'accompagnaient avec des instruments, devant le tabernacle du témoignage, jusqu'à ce que Salomon eût bâti le temple du Seigneur à Jérusalem. Et ils servaient, chacun selon la fonction qui lui était assignée.
And they ministered before the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation with singing, until Solomon built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem; and they acted according to their prescribed manner in their service.
33 Voici leurs noms et ceux de leurs pères: de Caath descendait: Hëman, chantre et harpiste, fils de Johel, fils de Samuel,
And these are those that so acted with their sons. Of the sons of the Kehathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,
34 Fils d'Elcana, fils de Jéroboam, fils d'Eliel, fils de Thoü,
The son of Elkanah, the son of Jerocham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toach,
35 Fils de Suph, fils d'Elcana, fils de Maath, fils d'Amathi,
The son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Machath, the son of 'Amassai,
36 Fils d'Elcana, fils de Johel, fils d'Azarias, fils de Saphanie,
The son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of 'Azaryah, the son of Zephanyah,
37 Fils de Thaath, fils d'Aser, fils d'Abiasaph, fils de Coré,
The son of Tachath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebyassaph, the son of Korach,
38 Fils d'Isaar, fils de Caath, fils de Lévi, fils d'Israël.
The son of Yizhar, the son of Kehath, the son at Levi, the son of Israel.
39 Et Asaph, chantre comme lui, qui se tenait à sa droite, était fils de Barachias, fils de Samaa,
And his relative Assaph was he, who stood on his right hand, [even] Assaph the son of Berachyah, the son of Shim'a,
40 Fils de Michel, fils de Baasie, fils de Melchias,
The son of Michael, the son of Ba'asseyah, the son of Malkiyah,
41 Fils d'Athani, fils de Zaaraï, fils d'Adaï,
The son of Ethni, the son of Zerach, the son of 'Adayah.
42 Fils d'Etham, fils de Zamnaam, fils de Sémeï,
The son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shim'i,
43 Fils de Jeth, petit-fils de Gerson, fils de Lévi.
The son of Jachath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.
44 Et de Mérari descendaient les chantres qui se tenaient à gauche, dont le chef était: Ethan, fils de Cisa, fils d'Abe, fils de Maloch,
And their brethren the sons of Merari [stood] on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of 'Abdi, the son of Malluch,
45 Fils d'Asebi,
The son of Chashabyah, the son of Amazyah, the son of Chilkiyah,
46 Fils d'Amessias, fils de Bani, fils de Semer,
The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer,
47 Fils de Mooli, fils de Musi, fils de Mérari, fils de Lévi.
The son of Machli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.
48 Et les lévites leurs frères, selon leurs familles paternelles, étaient attachés aux divers services du tabernacle de Dieu.
And their brethren the Levites were superadded for all manner of service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49 Aaron, et, après lui, ses fils sacrifiaient sur l'autel des holocaustes et sur l'autel des parfums; ils remplissaient toutes les fonctions relatives au Saint des saints; et ils priaient pour Israël, conformément à ce que leur avait commandé Moïse serviteur de Dieu.
But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt-offering, and upon the altar of incense, [and were] for all the work of the most holy place, and to make an atonement for Israel, in accordance with all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
50 Voici les fils d'Aaron: Eléazar son fils, Phinéès son fils, Abisué son fils,
And these are the sons of Aaron: El'azar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua' his son,
51 Bocci son fils, Ozi son fils, Saraïa son fils,
Bukki his son, 'Uzzi his son, Zerachyah his son,
52 Mariel son fils, Amarias son fils, Achitob son fils,
Merayoth his son, Amaryah his son, Achitub his son,
53 Sadoc son fils, Achimais son fils.
Zadok his son, Achima'az his son.
54 Voici les demeures, les bourgs et les territoires, assignés par le sort, selon leurs familles, aux fils d'Aaron, et aux fils de Caath.
And these are their dwelling-places with their castles in their boundaries; unto the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kehathites; for theirs was the [first] lot, —
55 Il leur fut donné Hébron, en la terre de Juda, et sa banlieue tout alentour.
And they gave unto them Hebron in the land of Judah, with its open spaces round about it.
56 Mais les champs de la ville et ses bourgs appartenaient à Caleb, fils de Jéphoné.
But the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son Jephunneh.
57 Les villes de refuge furent aussi concédées aux fils d'Aaron, savoir: Hébron, Lobna et sa banlieue, Selna et sa banlieue, Esthamo et sa banlieue,
And to the sons of Aaron they gave [of] the cities of refuge Hebron, and Libnah with its open spaces, and Jattir, and Eshthemoa, with its open spaces.
58 Jethar et sa banlieue, Dabir et sa banlieue,
And Chilen with its open spaces, Debir with its open spaces,
59 Asan et sa banlieue, Bethsamys et sa banlieue.
And 'Ashan with its open spaces, and Beth-shemesh with its open spaces.
60 Et, dans la tribu de Benjamin, Gabée et sa banlieue, Galemath et sa banlieue, Anathoth et sa banlieue. En tout treize villes par familles.
And from the tribe of Benjamin, Geba' with its open spaces, and 'Alemeth with its open spaces, and 'Anathoth with its open spaces. And all their cities were thirteen cities after their families.
61 Et le sort assigna au reste des fils de Caath, par familles, dix villes de la demi-tribu de Manassé, en deçà du Jourdain.
And unto the sons of Kehath that were left of the family of that tribe, [were given] from the half tribe, the half tribe of Menasseh, by lot, ten cities.
62 Et aux fils de Gerson, par familles, treize villes des tribus d'Issachar, d'Aser, de Nephthali et de la demi-tribu de Manassé en Hasan.
And to the sons or Gershom after their families, from the tribe of Issachar, and from the tribe of Asher, and from the tribe of Naphtali, and from the tribe of Menasseh in Bashan, [were given] thirteen cities.
63 Et aux fils de Mérari, par familles, douze villes des tribus de Ruben, de Gad et de Zabulon.
Unto the sons of Merari after their families, from the tribe of Reuben, and from the tribe of Gad, and from the tribe of Zebulun, [were given] by lot, twelve cities.
64 Et les fils d'Israël accordèrent aux lévites ces villes et leurs banlieues.
And the children of Israel gave to the Levites these cities with their open spaces.
65 Le sort désigna dans les tribus de Juda, de Siméon et de Benjamin, les villes auxquelles les lévites donnèrent leurs noms,
And they gave by lot from the tribe of the children of Judah, and from the tribe of the children of Simeon, and from the tribe of the children of Benjamin these cities, which they called by names.
66 D'après les familles des fils de Caath. Et ils eurent aussi des villes du territoire d'Ephraïm,
And some of the families of the sons of Kehath had the cities of their territory from the tribe of Ephraim.
67 Y compris les villes de refuge: Sichem et sa banlieue, dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, Gazer et sa banlieue,
And they gave unto them, [of] the cities of refuge Sechem with its open spaces in the mountain of Ephraim, and Gezer with its open spaces.
68 Jecmaan et sa banlieue, Béthoron et sa banlieue.
And Jokme'am with its open spaces, and Beth-choron with its open spaces,
69 Et, en d'autres territoires, Aïlon et sa banlieue, Gethremmon et sa banlieue.
And Ayalon with its open spaces, and Gath-rimmon with its open spaces.
70 Et de la demi-tribu de Manassé: Anar et sa banlieue, Jemblaan et sa banlieue, selon les familles du reste des fils de Caath.
And from the half tribe of Menasseh: 'Aner with its open spaces: and Bil'am with its open spaces, for the family of the remaining portion of the sons of Kehath.
71 Les fils de Gerson, par familles, eurent dans l'autre demi-tribu de Manassé, Golan en Basan et sa banlieue, Aseroth et sa banlieue.
Unto the sons of Gershom [were given] from the family of the half tribe of Menasseh, Golan in Bashan with its open spaces, and 'Ashtaroth with its open spaces.
72 Et dans la tribu d'Issachar: Cédés et sa banlieue, Deberi et sa banlieue, Dabor et sa banlieue,
And from the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh with its open spaces, Dobrath with its open spaces,
73 Ramoth, Aïnan et sa banlieue.
And Ramoth with its open spaces, and 'Anem with its open spaces.
74 Et dans la tribu d'Aser: Maasal et sa banlieue, Abdon et sa banlieue,
And from the tribe of Asher: Mashal with its open spaces, and 'Abdon with its open spaces,
75 Acac et sa banlieue, Rhoob et sa banlieue.
And Chukok with its open spaces, and Rechob with its open spaces.
76 Et dans la tribu de Nephthali: Cédés en Gaulée et sa banlieue, Hamoth et sa banlieue, Cariathaïm et sa banlieue.
And from the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with its open spaces, and Chammon with its open spaces, and Kiryathayim with its open spaces.
77 Et dans la tribu de Zabulon: le sort attribua au reste des fils de Mérari, Remmon et sa banlieue, Thabor et sa banlieue.
Unto the remaining portion of the children of Merari [were given] from the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with its open spaces, Tabor with its open spaces.
78 Et dans la vallée du Jourdain à l'occident du fleuve: Jéricho, et dans la tribu de Ruben: Bosor dans le désert et sa banlieue, Jasa et sa banlieue,
And on the other side the Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of Jordan, from the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with its open spaces, and Jahzah with its open spaces,
79 Cadmoth et sa banlieue, Maephla et sa banlieue.
And Kedemoth with its open spaces, and Mepha'ath with its open spaces.
80 Dans la tribu de Gad: Ramoth-Galaad et sa banlieue, Maanaïm et sa banlieue,
And from the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gila'd with its open spaces, and Machanayim with its open spaces.
81 Esébon et sa banlieue, Jazer et sa banlieue.
And Cheshbon with its open spaces, and Ja'azer with its open spaces.
