1 Chroniques 5
1 Voici les fils de Ruben; il était le premier-né; mais parce qu'il s'était introduit dans la couche de son père, Jacob ayant donné sa bénédiction à son fils Joseph, le droit d'aînesse de Ruben ne lui était plus compté.
And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel—for he was the first-born; but, when the defiled his father's bed, was his birthright given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: so that the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the first-birth.
2 Car Juda était fort parmi ses frères; le chef est sorti de lui, la bénédiction est restée à Joseph.
For Judah became the mightiest of his brothers, and the prince descended from him: while the first-birthright belonged to Joseph, —
3 Fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël: Enoch, Phallus, Asron et Charmi.
The sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel were, Chanoch, and Pallu, Chezron, and Carmi.
4 Fils de Johel: Sémeï et Banaïas son fils. Fils de Gug, fils de Sémeï,
The sons of Joel: Shema'yah his son, Gog his son, Shim'i his son,
5 Micha, son fils Recha, son fils Johel,
Michah his son, Reayah his son, Ba'al his son,
6 Son fils Behel, qu'emmena Thelgath-Phalnasar, roi des Assyriens; il était le chef des Rubénites.
Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneesser the king of Assyria carried into exile: he was the prince of the Reubenites.
7 Et, avec lui, furent emmenés ses frères, selon le dénombrement qui en fut fait par familles; les chefs de ces familles étaient: Johel, Zacharie,
And his brethren by their families, according to their genealogy after their generations, were, the chief, Je'iel, and Zecharyahu,
8 Et Balec, fils d'Azuz, fils de Sama, fils de Johel. Balec demeurait en Aroer, et vers Nebo et Belmasson.
And Bela' the son of 'Azaz, the son of Shema', the son of Joel, who dwelt in 'Aro'er, and as far as Nebo and Ba'al-me'on;
9 Et il s'était étendu à l'orient jusqu'au désert, du côté de l'Euphrate, parce qu'il avait de nombreux troupeaux en la terre de Galaad.
And to the eastward he dwelt as far as the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates; because their cattle were numerous in the land of Gil'ad.
10 Et, sous le règne de Saül, ils furent en guerre avec leurs voisins, et ceux qui habitaient sous des tentes tombèrent entre leurs mains, et ils maîtrisèrent toute la contrée à l'orient de Galaad.
And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarenes, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents in the whole front of the land to the east of Gil'ad.
11 Les fils de Gad, en face, demeurèrent en la terre de Basan jusqu'à Sela.
And the children of Gad dwelt alongside of them, in the land of Bashan as far as Salchah.
12 Le premier-né fut Johel; le second Saphan; puis, venaient Jania, le scribe de Basan,
Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Ja'nai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 Et ses frères, par familles paternelles: Michel, Mosollam, Sébée, Joré, Joachan, Zué et Obed; sept.
And their brethren according to their family divisions were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba', and Jorai, and Ya'kan, and Zia', and 'Eber, seven.
14 Les fils d'Abihaïl, fils d'Uri, fils d'Isaïe, fils de Galaad, fils de Michel, fils de Jésé, fils de Jeddé, fils de Bas,
These are the children of Abichayil the son of Churi, the son of Jaroach, the son of Gil'ad, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jachdo, the son of Buz:
15 Frère du fils d'Abdiel, fils de Guni, chef de la maison paternelle,
Achi the son of Abdiel the son of Guni, the chief of their family division.
16 Habitaient en Galaad, en Basan, en leurs bourgs et en tout le territoire de Saron jusqu'à ses limites.
And they dwelt in Gil'ad, in Bashan, and in its minor towns, and in all the open districts of Sharon, as far as their terminations.
17 Leur dénombrement fut fait du temps de Joatham, roi de Juda, et de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël.
All these were recorded by their genealogies in the days of Jotham the king of Judah, and in the days of Jerobo'am the king of Israel.
18 Les fils de Ruben, Gad et la demi-tribu de Manassé comptaient quarante- quatre mille sept cent soixante hommes, dans la force de l'âge, portant glaive et bouclier, tendant l'arc, exercés à la guerre, propres à marcher au combat.
The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear shield and sword, and to draw the bow, and practised in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and sixty, that went out to the army.
19 Et ils furent en guerre avec les Agaréens, les Ituréens, les Naphiséens et les Nadabéens.
And they made war with the Hagarenes, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
20 Et ils l'emportèrent sur eux. Et les Agaréens, avec toutes leurs tentes, tombèrent entre leurs mains, parce que les vainqueurs avaient invoqué Dieu pendant la bataille; et Dieu les exauça, parce qu'ils avaient espéré en lui.
And they obtained help against them, and the Hagarenes were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for to God they cried in the battle, and he was entreated by them; because they put their trust in him.
21 Et ils prirent tout ce que les autres possédaient: cinquante mille chameaux, deux cent cinquante mille brebis, deux mille ânes; et la vie de cent mille hommes.
And they led away captive their cattle: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of human beings one hundred thousand.
22 Car une grande multitude de blessés succomba, parce que cette guerre s'était faite selon la volonté de Dieu, et les vainqueurs habitèrent le territoire des vaincus Jusqu'à la captivité.
For there fell down many slain; because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the exile.
23 Et la demi-tribu de Manassé s'étendit de Basan Baal, Hermon, Sanir et la montagne d'Hermon; ses fils se multiplièrent dans le Liban.
And the children of the half tribe of Menasseh dwelt in the land: from Bashan unto Ba'al-chermon and Senir and mount Chermon were they numerous.
24 Et voici leurs chefs, par familles: Opher, Sei, Eliel, Jérémie, Oduïa et Jediel; hommes riches et renommés, chefs des familles de la demi-tribu.
And these were the heads of their family divisions: namely, 'Epher, and Yish'i, and Eliel, and 'Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodavyah, and Jachdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, [and] heads of their family divisions.
25 Et ils répudièrent le Dieu de leurs pères, et ils se prostituèrent à la suite des dieux de la terre que le Seigneur avait effacés devant leur face.
But they trespassed against the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the people of the land, whom God had destroyed from before them.
26 Et le Dieu d'Israël excita l'esprit de Phaloch (Phul), roi d'Assur, et l'esprit de Thelgath-Phalnasar, roi d'Assur. Ce roi enleva Ruben, et Gad, et la demi-tribu de Manassé, et il les transporta en Haach, en Hahor, et sur le fleuve Gozan, où ils sont restés jusqu'à nos jours.
And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul the king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilnesser the king of Assyria, and he carried them into exile, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh, and brought them unto Chalach, and Chabor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, even until this day.
