1 Chroniques 28
1 Et David rassembla en Jérusalem tous les chefs d'Israël, les chefs des juges, tous les chefs des gardes qui tour à tour veillaient à la personne du roi, les commandants de mille hommes, les centeniers, les trésoriers, les intendants de ses domaines, ceux des troupeaux du roi, les gouverneurs de ses fils, les eunuques, les vaillants et les guerriers de l'armée.
Nowe Dauid assembled all the princes of Israel: the princes of the tribes, and the captaines of the bandes that serued the King, and the captaines of thousands and the captaines of hundreths, and the rulers of all the substance and possession of the King, and of his sonnes, with the eunuches, and the mightie, and all the men of power, vnto Ierusalem.
2 Et David se plaça au milieu de l'assemblée, et il dit: Écoutez-moi, mes frères et mon peuple: J'ai eu le dessein de bâtir une maison de repos, pour l'arche de l'alliance un lieu du Seigneur, où notre Seigneur arrête ses pas; j'ai préparé ce qui convient pour cette construction.
And King Dauid stoode vp vpon his feete; and saide, Heare ye me, my brethren and my people: I purposed to haue buylt an house of rest for the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, and for a footestoole of our God, and haue made ready for the building,
3 Mais Dieu a dit: Tu ne bâtiras pas un temple où mon nom soit invoqué, parce que tu es un homme de guerre, et que tu as versé le sang.
But God sayde vnto me, Thou shalt not buylde an house for my Name, because thou hast bene a man of warre, and hast shed blood.
4 Le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël m'a choisi dans la maison de mon père pour être à jamais roi d'Israël, et il a choisi Juda pour sa tribu royale; dans Juda il a choisi la maison de mon père; et, parmi les fils de mon père, il a voulu que je fusse roi de tout Israël.
Yet as the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father, to be King ouer Israel for euer (for in Iudah woulde he chuse a prince, and of the house of Iudah is the house of my father, and among the sonnes of my father he delited in me to make me King ouer all Israel)
5 Et, parmi tous mes fils, car le Seigneur m'en a accordé un grand nombre, il a choisi Salomon, mon fils, pour l'asseoir sur le trône du royaume du Seigneur, et pour qu'il soit roi d'Israël.
So of all my sonnes (for the Lord hath giuen me many sonnes) he hath euen chosen Salomon my sonne to sit vpon the throne of the kingdome of the Lord ouer Israel.
6 Et Dieu m'a dit: Salomon, ton fils, bâtira mon parvis et mon temple; car je l'ai choisi pour qu'il soit mon fils, et je serai pour lui un père.
And he sayd vnto me, Salomon thy sonne, he shall build mine house and my courtes: for I haue chosen him to be my sonne, and I will be his father.
7 Et je maintiendrai, dans tous les siècles, son royaume, s'il observe sans faiblir, comme il les observe maintenant, mes commandements et mes préceptes.
I will stablish therefore his kingdome for euer, if he endeuour himselfe to do my commandements, and my iudgements, as this day.
8 Je vous recommande donc en présence de toute l'Église du Seigneur, et devant notre Dieu qui nous entend, d'observer et d'aimer tous les commandements du Seigneur notre Dieu, afin que vous possédiez cette terre féconde, et que vous en transmettiez l'héritage à vos fils pour toujours.
Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the Congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keepe and seeke for all the commandements of the Lord your God, that ye may possesse this good lande, and leaue it for an inheritance for your children after you for euer.
9 Et toi, Salomon, mon fils, reconnais le Dieu de tes pères, sers-le d'un cœur pur et d'une âme ferme, car le Seigneur sonde tous les cœurs et il connaît toutes les pensées. Si tu le cherches tu le trouveras, et si tu l'abandonnes il t'abandonnera pour toujours.
And thou, Salomon my sonne, know thou the God of thy father, and serue him with a perfit heart, and with a willing minde: For the Lord searcheth all hearts, and vnderstandeth all the imaginations of thoughts: if thou seeke him, he will be found of thee, but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for euer.
10 Vois aujourd'hui que le Seigneur t'a choisi pour que tu lui bâtisses une maison où sera son sanctuaire; sois fort et agis.
Take heede now, for the Lord hath chosen thee to buylde the house of the Sanctuarie: be strong therefore, and doe it.
11 Ensuite, David donna à Salomon, son fils, le modèle du temple, de ses constructions, de ses trésors, de ses chambres hautes, des logements intérieurs et du propitiatoire,
Then Dauid gaue to Salomon his sonne the paterne of the porch and of the houses thereof, and of the closets thereof, and of the galleries thereof, and of the chambers thereof that are within, and of the house of the mercieseate,
12 Et le plan, qu'il avait eu en l'esprit, du parvis du temple du Seigneur, de tous les vestibules d'alentour communiquant aux trésors, des trésors, des choses saintes et des chambres secrètes,
And the paterne of all that he had in his minde for the courtes of the house of the Lord, and for all the chambers round about, for the treasures of the house of God, and for the treasures of the dedicate things,
13 Et le règlement du service journalier des prêtres et des lévites, pour toutes leurs œuvres liturgiques dans le temple du Seigneur, et des trésors où seraient déposés les vases liturgiques employés aux cérémonies du culte dans le temple du Seigneur.
And for the courses of the Priestes, and of the Leuites, and for all the woorke for the seruice of the house of the Lord, and for all the vessels of the ministerie of the house of the Lord.
14 Et il donna le poids des vases d'or et d'argent,
He gaue of golde by weight, for the vessels of gold, for all the vessels of all maner of seruice, and all the vessels of siluer by weight, for all maner vessels of all maner of seruice.
15 Des lampes et des chandeliers,
The weight also of golde for the candlestickes, and gold for their lampes, with the weight for euery candlesticke, and for the lampes thereof, and for the candlestickes of siluer by the weight of the candlesticke, and the lampes thereof, according to the vse of euery candlesticke,
16 Il donna pareillement le poids des tables de proposition, de chaque table d'or, et de chaque table d'argent,
And the weight of the gold for the tables of shewbread, for euery table, and siluer for the tables of siluer,
17 Et des fourchettes, et des coupes à libations, et des fioles d'or, et des encensoirs, et d'autres objets d'or et d'argent.
And pure golde for the fleshhookes, and the bowles, and plates, and for basens, golde in weight for euery basen, and for siluer basens, by weight for euery basen,
18 Il lui montra aussi le poids, en or pur, de toutes les parties de l'autel des parfums, et le modèle du char des deux chérubins aux ailes déployées, qui devaient ombrager l'arche de l'alliance du Seigneur.
And for the altar of incense, pure golde by weight, and golde for the paterne of the charet of the Cherubs that spread themselues, and couered the Arke of the couenant of the Lord:
19 David donna tout cela à Salomon en écriture de la main du Seigneur, avec la sagesse dont il fut assisté pour réaliser le modèle.
All, said he, by writing sent to me by the hand of the Lord, which made me vnderstand all the workemanship of the paterne.
20 Et David dit à Salomon, son fils: Sois fort, agis en homme, exécute, n'aie ni crainte, ni faiblesse; car le Seigneur Dieu est avec toi; il ne te négligera pas, il ne t'abandonnera point que tu n'aies terminé toute l'œuvre destinée au service de son temple. Voici le modèle de sa nef et de son temple, de son trésor, des chambres hautes, des logements intérieurs et du propitiatoire; voici le plan du temple du Seigneur.
And Dauid said to Salomon his sonne, Be strong, and of a valiant courage and doe it: feare not, nor be afraide: for the Lord God, euen my God is with thee: he will not leaue thee nor forsake thee till thou hast finished all the worke for the seruice of the house of the Lord.
21 Voici encore l'ordre des fonctions journalières des prêtres et des lévites, dans tout le service du temple du Seigneur; et tu seras assisté en ton œuvre par chaque homme zélé et habile en quelque art, et les princes et tout le peuple exécuteront tous tes commandements.
Beholde also, the companies of the Priests and the Leuites for all the seruice of the house of God, euen they shall be with thee for the whole worke, with euery free heart that is skilfull in any maner of seruice. The princes also and all the people will be wholy at thy commandement.
