1 Chroniques 18
1 Il advint, après cela, que David battit les Philistins et qu'il les mit en fuite; et il leur enleva Geth avec ses bourgs.
Forsothe it was doon aftir these thingis, that Dauid smoot Filisteis, and made hem lowe, and took awey Geth and vilagis therof fro the hond of Filisteis;
2 Il vainquit Moab, et les fils de Moab lui furent asservis; et ils lui payèrent un tribut.
and that he smoot Moab; and Moabitis weren maad seruauntis of Dauid, and brouyten yiftis to hym.
3 David vainquit aussi, dans le pays d'Hémath, Adraazar, roi de Suba, qui s'était mis en campagne pour se rendre maître des rives de l'Euphrate.
In that tyme Dauid smoot also Adadezer, kyng of Soba, of the cuntrey of Emath, whanne he yede for to alarge his empire til to the flood Eufrates.
4 Et David prit aux vaincus mille chars, sept mille chevaux et vingt mille piétons; puis, il énerva les attelages de tous les chars, et n'en garda que cent.
Therfor Dauid took a thousynde foure horsid cartis of his, and seuene thousynde of horsmen, and twenti thousynde of foot men; and he hoxide alle the horsis of charis, outakun an hundrid foure horsid cartis, whiche he kepte to hym silf.
5 Et le Syrien de Damas marcha au secours d'Adraazar, roi de Suba, et David tua au Syrien vingt-deux mille hommes.
Forsothe also Sirus of Damask cam aboue, to yyue help to Adadezer, kyng of Soba, but Dauid smoot also of hise two and twenti thousynde of men;
6 Et David mit une garnison dans la Syrie de Damas, et les Syriens lui furent asservis; ils lui payèrent un tribut. Et le Seigneur protégea David partout où il porta ses armes.
and he settide kniytis in Damask, that Sirie also schulde serue hym, and brynge yiftis. And the Lord helpide hym in alle thingis to whiche he yede.
7 Et David prit les colliers d'or que portaient les serviteurs d'Adraazar, et il les consacra dans Jérusalem.
And Dauid took goldun arowe caasis, whiche the seruauntis of Adadezer hadden, and he brouyte tho in to Jerusalem;
8 Et David recueillit à Mathabeth (Métébac), et dans les principales villes d'Adraazar, une prodigieuse quantité d'airain, dont Salomon se servit pour fabriquer la mer d'airain, et les colonnes et tous les vases d'airain.
also and of Thebath and of Chum, the citees of Adadezer, he took ful myche of bras, wherof Salomon made the brasun see, `that is, waischynge vessel, and pileris, and brasun vessels.
9 Cependant Thoa (Thu), roi d'Hémath, apprit que David avait taillé en pièces toute l'armée d'Adraazar.
And whanne Thou, kyng of Emath, hadde herd this thing, `that is, that Dauid hadde smyte al the oost of Adadezer, kyng of Soba,
10 Et il envoya vers David son fils Aduram (Jedduram), pour lui demander la paix et le bénir à cause de sa victoire sur Adraazar; car Thoa était ennemi d'Adraazar. Et tous les vases d'or, d'argent et d'airain,
he sente Aduram, his sone, to Dauid the kyng, for to axe of hym pees, and for to thanke hym, for he hadde ouercome and hadde smyte Adadezer; for whi king Adadezer was aduersarie of Thou.
11 Le roi David les consacra au Seigneur de même que l'argent et l'or qu'il avait pris à toutes les nations: à l'Idumée, à Moab, aux fils d'Ammon, aux Philistins et aux fils d'Amalec.
But also kyng Dauid halewide to the Lord alle the vessels of gold, and of siluer, and of bras; and the siluer, and the gold, which the kyng hadde take of alle folkis, as wel of Idumee and Moab, and of the sones of Amon, as of Filisteis and Amalech.
12 Et Abessa, fils de Sarvia, tailla en pièces quatre-vingt mille Philistins dans le val d'Aïlon.
Forsothe Abisai, the sone of Saruye, smoot Edom in the valei of salt pittis, `ten and eiyte thousynde.
13 Et il mit dans la vallée une garnison, et tous les Iduméens furent asservis à David, et le Seigneur protégea David partout où il porta ses armes.
And he settide strong hold in Edom, that Ydumei schulde serue Dauid. And the Lord sauide Dauid in alle thingis, to whiche he yede.
14 Ainsi, David régna sur tout Israël, et il jugea tout son peuple selon l'équité.
Therfor Dauid regnede on al Israel, and dide doom and riytwisnesse to al his puple.
15 Joab, fils de Sarvia, commandait l'armée; Josaphat, fils d'Achilud, recueillait les actes publics.
Forsothe Joab, the sone of Saruye, was `on the oost; and Josaphat, the sone of Ayluth, was chaunceler;
16 Sadoc, fils d'Achitob, et Achimélech, fils d'Abiathar, étaient prêtres, et Susa (Sasa), scribe.
forsothe Sadoch, the sone of Achitob, and Achymalech, the sone of Abyathar, weren preestis; and Susa was scribe;
17 Et Banaïas, fils de Joad, commandait Chéléthi et Phéléthi, et les fils de David étaient les premiers lieutenants du roi.
and Banaye, the sone of Joiada, was on the legiouns Cerethi and Phelethi; sotheli the sones of Dauid weren the firste at the hond of the kyng.
