1 Chroniques 11
1 Ensuite, tout Israël, alla trouver David à Hébron, disant: Vois, nous sommes tes os et ta chair.
Then all Israel gathered themselues to Dauid vnto Hebron, saying, Beholde, we are thy bones and thy flesh.
2 Précédemment, quand Saül régnait encore, c'est toi qui conduisais et ramenais Israël, et le Seigneur notre Dieu avait dit: Tu seras le pasteur d'Israël, tu seras le chef de mon peuple.
And in time past, euen when Saul was King, thou leddest Israel out and in: and the Lord thy God sayde vnto thee, Thou shalt feede my people Israel, and thou shalt be captaine ouer my people Israel.
3 Et tous les anciens d'Israël allèrent en Hébron auprès du roi, et David fit alliance avec eux devant le Seigneur, en Hébron, et ils le sacrèrent roi d'Israël, selon la parole du Seigneur transmise par Samuel.
So came all the Elders of Israel to the King to Hebron, and Dauid made a couenant with them in Hebron before the Lord. And they anoynted Dauid King ouer Israel, according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Samuel.
4 Et le roi et ses hommes partirent pour Jérusalem, la même que Jébus; les Jébuséens habitaient cette terre.
And Dauid and all Israel went to Ierusalem, which is Iebus, where were the Iebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
5 Et ils dirent à David: Tu n'entreras pas ici. Et il prit la forteresse de Sion, la même que la ville de David.
And the inhabitants of Iebus said to Dauid, Thou shalt not come in hither. Neuertheles Dauid tooke the towre of Zion, which is the city of Dauid.
6 Or, David avait dit: Celui qui, le premier, frappera le Jébuséen, sera général de mon armée; et Joab, fils de Sarvia, monta le premier à l'assaut, et il fut nommé général.
And Dauid sayd, Whosoeuer smiteth the Iebusites first, shalbe the chiefe and captaine. So Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah went first vp, and was captaine.
7 Et David s'établit dans la forteresse. A cause de cela, il l'appela Ville de David.
And Dauid dwelt in the tower: therefore they called it the citie of Dauid.
8 Et il bâtit la ville alentour.
And he built the citie on euery side, from Millo euen round about, and Ioab repaired the rest of the citie.
9 David alla ainsi grandissant, et le Seigneur tout-puissant était avec lui.
And Dauid prospered, and grewe: for the Lord of hostes was with him.
10 Voici les chefs des vaillants qui étaient avec David, et qui l'aidèrent à affermir son pouvoir sur tout Israël, selon la parole du Seigneur.
These also are the chiefe of the valiant men that were with Dauid, and ioyned their force with him in his kingdome with al Israel, to make him King ouer Israel, according to the worde of the Lord.
11 Voici les noms des vaillants de David: Jésebada, fils d'Achaman, le premier des trente. Ce fut lui qui tira l'épée seul contre trois cents, et les tua tous en une fois.
And this is the nomber of the valiant men whome Dauid had, Iashobeam the sonne of Hachmoni, the chiefe among thirtie: he lift vp his speare against three hundreth, whom he slewe at one time.
12 Après lui, Eléazar (Eléanan), fils de Dudi l'Ahonite; celui-ci était de la première triade.
And after him was Eleazar the sonne of Dodo the Ahohite, which was one of the three valiant men.
13 Il était avec David à Phasodamin, et les Philistins s'y réunirent pour livrer bataille. Or, il y avait un champ en partie couvert d'orge, et le peuple s'enfuit devant les Philistins.
He was with Dauid at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistims were gathered together to battel: and there was a parcell of ground full of barley, and the people fled before the Philistims.
14 Pour lui, il s'arrêta au milieu du champ, et il le sauva; il tailla en pièces les Philistins, et le Seigneur opéra une grande délivrance.
And they stood in the middes of the field, and saued it, and slewe the Philistims: so the Lord gaue a great victorie.
15 Et trois, des trente chefs, se rendirent auprès de David, en la caverne d'Odollam, quand les Philistins étaient campés dans le val des Géants.
And three of the thirtie captaines went to a rocke to Dauid, into the caue of Adullam. And the armie of the Philistims camped in the valley of Rephaim.
16 David se tenait dans sa forteresse, et les Philistins avaient un poste à Bethléem.
And when Dauid was in the hold, the Philistims garison was at Beth-lehem.
17 Et David eut un désir, et il dit: Qui m'apportera à boire de l'eau de la citerne qui est sous la porte de Bethléem?
And Dauid longed, and said, Oh, that one would giue me to drinke of the water of the well of Beth-lehem that is at the gate.
18 Et les trois vaillants s'ouvrirent un passage à travers le camp des Philistins, et ils puisèrent de l'eau dans la citerne sous la porte de Bethléem, et ils l'emportèrent, et ils la présentèrent à David; mais il ne voulut pas la boire, et il en fit une libation au Seigneur.
Then these three brake thorowe the hoste of the Philistims, and drewe water out of the well of Beth-lehem that was by the gate, and tooke it and brought it to Dauid: but Dauid would not drinke of it, but powred it for an oblation to the Lord,
19 Et il dit: Dieu me protège, je n'en ferai rien; je croirais boire le sang des hommes qui ont exposé leur vie. Et il ne voulut point boire; voilà ce qu'avaient fait les trois vaillants.
And said, Let not my God suffer me to do this: should I drinke the blood of these mens liues? for they haue brought it with the ieopardie of their liues: therefore he would not drinke it: these things did these three mightie men.
20 Il y avait encore Abisaï (Abessa), frère de Joab; celui-ci était chef d'une seconde triade; il avait tiré l'épée contre trois cents qu'il avait tués tous en une fois, et il s'était fait un nom parmi les trois.
And Abishai the brother of Ioab, he was chiefe of the three, and he lift vp his speare against three hundreth, and slew them, and had the name among the three.
21 Et, dans sa triade, il fut illustre, et il en devint le chef; mais il n'alla pas aussi loin que ceux de la première triade.
Among the three he was more honourable then the two, and he was their captaine: but he attained not vnto the first three.
22 Il y avait aussi Banaïas, fils d'un homme vaillant, fils de Joad; il avait fait beaucoup de belles actions en faveur de Cabséel; ce fut lui qui tua deux Ariel de Moab, et qui descendit dans une citerne, un jour de neige, et qui y tua un lion.
Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada (the sonne of a valiant man) which had done many actes, and was of Kabzeel, he slewe two strong men of Moab: he went downe also and slewe a lion in the middes of a pit in time of snowe.
23 Il tua encore un Égyptien, homme prodigieux, haut de cinq coudées, qui tenait dans sa main une javeline semblable au mât d'un tisserand; il l'attaqua, n'ayant qu'un bâton, il lui arracha des mains sa javeline, et il le tua avec cette javeline.
And he slewe an Egyptian, a man of great stature, euen fiue cubites long, and in the Egyptians hand was a speare like a weauers beame: and he went downe to him with a staffe, and plucked the speare out of the Egyptians hand, and slewe him with his owne speare.
24 Voilà ce que fit Banaïas, fils de Joad, et son nom figurait dans la seconde triade.
These things did Benaiah ye sonne of Iehoiada, and had the name among the three worthies.
25 Et il fut plus illustre que les trente; mais il n'alla pas si loin que la première triade, et David le mit à la tête de sa maison.
Behold, he was honourable among thirtie, but he attained not vnto the first three. And Dauid made him of his counsell.
26 Et les vaillants de l'armée étaient: Asaël, frère de Joab; Eléanan, fils de Dudi de Bethléem.
These also were valiant men of warre, Asahel the brother of Ioab, Elhanan the sonne of Dodo of Beth-lehem,
27 Samoth d'Arori, Hellès de Pheloni,
Shammoth the Harodite, Helez the Pelonite,
28 Ora, fils d'Eccis de Thécoé; Abiézer d'Anathoth,
Ira the sonne of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,
29 Soboch d'Usathi, Héli d'Achoni,
Sibbecai the Husathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
30 Maraï de Netophath; Thaod, fils de Nooza de Netophath;
Maharai the Netophathite, Heled ye sonne of Baanah the Netophathite,
31 Aïri, fils de Rebié de la montagne de Benjamin; Banaïas de Pharathon;
Ithai the sonne of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Beniamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,
32 Uri de Nachali-Gaas, Abiel de Garabeth,
Hurai of the riuers of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,
33 Azbon de Baromi, Eliaba de Salaboni,
Azmaueth the Baharumite, Elihaba the Shaalbonite,
34 Fils d'Aasam le Gizonéen; Jonathas, fils de Sola d'Arari;
The sonnes of Hashem the Gizonite, Ionathan the sonne of Shageh the Harite,
35 Achim, fils d'Achar d'Arari; Elphat, fils de Thyrophar,
Ahiam the sonne of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the sonne of Vr,
36 De Mechorathri; Achias de Pheloni,
Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahiiah the Pelonite,
37 Eseré de Chadmadaïm; Naaré, fils d'Azobé;
Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the sonne of Ezbai,
38 Johel, fils de Nathan; Mebaal, fils d'Agari;
Ioel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the sonne of Haggeri,
39 Selé, fils de l'Ammonite; Nachor de Beroth, qui portait les armes du fils de Sarvia.
Zelek the Ammonite, Nahrai the Berothite, the armour bearer of Ioab, the sonne of Zeruiah,
40 Iras de Jéther, Gaber de Jéther,
Ira the Ithrite, Garib the Ithrite,
41 Urie l'Hettéen; Zabet, fils d'Achaïas;
Vriah the Hittite, Zabad the sonne of Ahlai,
42 Adina, fils de Saiza, l'un des chefs de Ruben; et il y en avait trente avec lui.
Adina the sonne of Shiza the Reubenite, a captaine of the Reubenites, and thirtie with him,
43 Anan, fils de Moocha; Josaphat le Matthanéen,
Hanan the sonne of Maachah, and Ioshaphat the Mithnite,
44 Ozias d'Astaroth; Samatha et Jehiel, fils de Hothan d'Arari;
Vzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Ieiel the sonnes of Otham the Aroerite,
45 Jediel, fils de Sameri; et Jozaé son frère le Thosaïte,
Iediael the sonne of Shimri, and Ioha his brother the Tizite,
46 Elihel le Mahoïte, et Jaribi, et Josias son fils, et Jethama le Moabite,
Eliel the Mahauite, and Ieribai and Ioshauiah the sonnes of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,
47 Daliel, et Obeth, et Jersiel le Mesobéen.
Eliel and Obed, and Iaasiel the Mesobaite.
