Zacharie 9
1 Le poids de la parole de l’Eternel est sur le pays de Hadrâc, il repose sur Damas; car l’Eternel a l’œil sur les hommes, comme sur toutes les tribus d’Israël!
The prophecy of the word of the Lord concerning the land of Chadrach, and Damascus his resting-place; for unto the Lord [will look] the eye of men, and [that of] all the tribes of Israel;
2 Elle pèse aussi sur Hamath qui en est limitrophe, sur Tyr et Sidon, si grandement avisées.
And also concerning Chamath that is bordering thereon, Tyre, and Zidon, though it be very wise.
3 Tyr s’est bâti une enceinte fortifiée, elle a entassé de l’argent comme de la poussière, de l’or fin comme la boue des rues.
And though Tyre have built herself a strong-hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets:
4 Mais voici, l’Eternel va la déposséder, il abattra ses remparts dans la mer, elle-même sera la proie du feu.
Behold, the Lord will drive her out, and he will strike down her power into the sea; and she herself shall be devoured with fire.
5 Ascalon la verra et aura peur, Gaza en tremblera de tous ses membres, de même Ekron, dont l’espoir est déçu. Plus de roi à Gaza! Ascalon cessera d’être habité.
Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gazzah also, and tremble greatly: and 'Ekron, for her trust will be made ashamed: and the king shall vanish from Gazzah, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
6 Des bâtards rempliront Asdod, et j’anéantirai l’orgueil du peuple des Philistins.
And aliens shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
7 Puis, j’enlèverai le sang de sa bouche et ses mets horribles d’entre ses dents; de la sorte il survivra lui aussi pour notre Dieu et sera l’égal des chefs dans Juda, et Ekron sera comme le Jébuséen.
And I will remove their bloody [-sacrifices] out of their mouth, and their abominations from between their teeth; and their land also shall be left for our God, and it shall be as a prince's [dwelling] in Judah, and 'Ekron shall be like Jebusi.
8 Et je ferai bonne garde autour de ma maison contre toute armée, contre les allants et venants. Nul oppresseur ne viendra plus les attaquer, car à présent j’aurai les yeux ouverts.
And I will encamp about my house against armies, against those that pass to and fro, and there shall not pass over them any more an oppressor; for now do I look [on them] with my eyes.
9 Réjouis-toi fort, fille de Sion, jubile, fille de Jérusalem! Voici que ton roi vient à toi juste et victorieux, humble, monté sur un âne, sur le petit de l’ânesse.
Be greatly glad, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! behold, thy King will come unto thee, righteous and victorious is he, lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of a she-ass.
10 Plus de chars en Ephraïm, plus de chevaux à Jérusalem, plus d’arc de guerre! Il dictera la paix aux nations. Son empire s’étendra d’une mer à l’autre, et du fleuve aux extrémités de la terre.
And I will cut off chariots from Ephraim, and horses from Jerusalem, and there shall be cut off the battle-bow, and he shall speak peace unto the nations; and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.
11 Et pour toi, en vertu du sang de ton alliance, je tirerai tes captifs de la citerne où il n’y a pas d’eau.
As for thee also, because of the blood of thy covenant, do I send forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein there is no water.
12 Retournez dans la place forte, vous qui êtes engagés dans les liens de l’espérance! Aujourd’hui même je vous annonce que je vous paierai au double.
Return you to the strong-hold, ye hopeful prisoners: even today do I declare, that I will recompense twofold [good] unto thee.
13 Oui, je me fais de Juda comme un arc bandé, d’Ephraïm un carquois bien garni. Je vais lancer tes fils, ô Sion, contre les tiens, ô lavân! Tu seras pour moi comme une épée de héros.
For I do bend Judah for me, grasp Ephraim [as] a bow; and I will stir up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Javan, and I will render thee as the sword of a mighty man.
14 Et l’Eternel apparaîtra au-dessus d’eux; sa flèche s’élancera comme un éclair. Le Seigneur Dieu fera retentir la trompette et s’avancera dans les ouragans du Midi.
And the Lord will appear over them, and then will go forth like the lightning his arrow: and the Lord Eternal will blow on the cornet, and he will go along in the tempests of the south.
15 L’Eternel-Cebaot étendra sa protection sur eux: ils ne feront qu’une bouchée des pierres de fronde qu’ils fouleront aux pieds, ils boiront et seront animés, comme pris de vin, gorgés comme les bassins et les angles de l’autel.
The Lord of hosts will be a shield over them; and they shall devour [the prey], and subdue the sling-stones; and they shall drink, make a noise as one [drunken with] wine; and they shall be filled like the offering-bowls, like the corners of the altar.
16 L’Eternel, leur Dieu, leur prêtera main-forte, en ce jour, à ce peuple qui est son troupeau, car ce sont des pierres de diadème étincelant sur son territoire.
And the Lord their God will save them on that day as the flock of his people; for [like] the stones of a crown, will they elevate themselves over his land.
17 Ah! Quel est son bonheur! Quelle est leur beauté! Le blé fait prospérer les jeunes gens et le vin généreux les jeunes filles.
For how great will be [that generation's] happiness, and how great its beauty! corn shall make the young men sing joyfully, and new wine the virgins.
