Zacharie 3

1 Puis, il me fit voir le grand-prêtre Josué debout devant l’ange de l’Eternel; le Satan se tenait à sa droite pour l’accuser.

And he showed me Joshua, the high-priest, standing before the angel of Jehovah, and the adversary standing at his right hand, to accuse him.

2 L’Eternel dit au Satan: "L’Eternel te réprouve, ô Satan! Oui, il te réprouve, l’Eternel qui a élu Jérusalem. Celui-ci n’est-il pas un tison sauvé du feu?"

And Jehovah said to the adversary: — Jehovah rebuke thee, thou adversary, Even Jehovah, who hath chosen Jerusalem, rebuke thee! Is not this man a brand plucked out of the fire?

3 Or, Josué était couvert de vêtements souillés, tandis qu’il se tenait devant l’ange.

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.

4 Celui-ci s’écria en s’adressant à ceux qui étaient placés devant lui: "Enlevez-lui ces vêtements souillés!" Puis il lui dit: "Vois, je te débarrasse de tes péchés, en te faisant vêtir d’habits de prix."

And he [[the angel]] spake and said to them [[the angels]] that stood before him, saying, Take off the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and will clothe thee with goodly apparel.

5 Et je dis: "Qu’on lui mette une tiare propre sur la tête!" Et ils lui mirent une tiare propre sur la tête et lui passèrent les vêtements, tandis que l’ange de l’Eternel était présent.

And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head! And they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of Jehovah stood by.

6 Et l’ange de l’Eternel fit cette déclaration à Josué:

And the angel of Jehovah declared to Joshua and said:

7 "Ainsi parle l’Eternel-Cebaot: Si tu marches dans mes voies, si tu suis mon observance, et que tu gouvernes bien ma maison et gardes avec soin mes parvis, je te donnerai accès parmi ceux qui sont là debout.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: If thou wilt walk in my ways, And if thou wilt keep my charge, Then thou shalt also rule my house, And shalt also keep my courts, And I will give thee guides among these that stand by.

8 Ecoute donc bien, ô Josué, grand-prêtre, toi et tes compagnons qui siègent avec toi tous personnages de marque, oui, certes, je vais faire apparaître mon serviteur, le Rejeton!

Hear now, O Joshua, high-priest, Thou and thy companions, who sit before thee! For they are men that are signs. For, behold, I will cause to come my servant, the Branch.

9 Pour ce qui est de la pierre que j’ai posée devant Josué, sur une seule pierre il y a sept yeux j’en graverai l’inscription, dit l’Eternel-Cebaot, et j’effacerai l’iniquité de ce pays en un jour.

For, behold, the stone which I have laid before Joshua, Upon this one stone shall be seven eyes; Behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith Jehovah of hosts; And I will remove the iniquity of this land in one day.

10 En ce jour, dit l’Eternel-Cebaot, vous vous convierez l’un l’autre sous la vigne et sous le figuier."

In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, Shall ye invite every one his neighbor Under the vine and under the fig-tree.
