Psaumes 85
1 Au chef des chantres. Par les fils de Koré. Psaume. Tu as rendu, ô Seigneur, ton affection à ton pays, réparé les ruines de Jacob.
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. LORD, Thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2 Tu as pardonné les fautes de ton peuple, couvert d’un voile toutes leurs défaillances. (Sélah)
Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. (Selah)
3 Tu as réfréné toute ton indignation, renoncé à ton ardente colère.
Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned [thyself] from the fierceness of thine anger.
4 Restaure-nous, Dieu de notre salut, mets fin à ton irritation à notre égard.
Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine indignation toward us to cease.
5 Seras-tu à jamais courroucé contre nous? Feras-tu, d’âge en âge, durer ton ressentiment?
Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
6 Ne veux-tu pas nous rendre à la vie, pour que ton peuple se réjouisse en toi?
Wilt thou not quicken us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Montre-nous, Seigneur, ton amour; et ton secours, accorde-le nous.
Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
8 Ah! je veux entendre ce que dit Dieu, l’Eternel, car c’est le salut qu’il va annoncer à son peuple et à ses fidèles; mais qu’ils ne retombent plus dans leurs folies!
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Oui, proche est son secours de ses pieux adorateurs, si bien que la gloire élira domicile dans notre pays.
Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
10 L’Amour et la fidélité se donnent la main, la justice et la paix s’embrassent.
Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 La fidélité va germer du sein de la terre, et la justice briller du haut des cieux.
Truth springeth out of the earth; and righteousness hath looked down from heaven.
12 Oui, le Seigneur octroie le bonheur, et notre pays prodigue ses moissons.
Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 La justice marche au-devant de lui, et trace la route devant ses pas.
Righteousness shall go before him; and shall make his footsteps a way [to walk in].
