Psaumes 70

1 Au chef des chantres. De David. Pour la Commémoration. Consens, ô Dieu, à me sauver; Eternel, hâte-toi de me porter secours.

God, please save me! Yahweh, come quickly to help me!

2 Qu’ils soient confondus et couverts de honte, ceux qui attentent à ma vie: qu’ils lâchent pied et reculent, en rougissant, ceux qui souhaitent mon malheur!

Humble those who are happy about my troubles/difficulties, and cause them to be disgraced/ashamed. Chase away those who are trying to kill me.

3 Qu’ils s’en retournent, punis par leur honte, ceux qui disent de moi: "Ha! Ha!"

I hope/desire that you will cause them to become dismayed and ashamed [because you have defeated them].

4 Mais qu’ils jubilent et se réjouissent en toi, tous ceux qui te recherchent! Qu’ils disent constamment: "Dieu est grand", ceux qui aiment ta protection!

[But] I hope/desire that all those who go to [worship] you will be very joyful [DOU]. I want those who love you because you saved them to shout repeatedly [HYP], “God is great!”

5 Quant à moi, pauvre et malheureux, ô Dieu, hâte-toi en ma faveur; tu es mon aide et ma sauvegarde: Eternel, n’attends pas trop longtemps.

As for me, I am poor and needy [DOU]; [so] God, come quickly to help me! Yahweh, you are the one who saves and helps me, [so please] come quickly!
