Psaumes 50
1 Psaume d’Assaph. Le Dieu tout-puissant, l’Eternel parle; il adresse un appel à la terre, du soleil levant jusqu’à son couchant.
A Psalme of Asaph. The God of Gods, euen the Lord hath spoken and called the earth from the rising vp of the sunne vnto the going downe thereof.
2 De Sion, ce centre de beauté, l’Eternel rayonne.
Out of Zion, which is the perfection of beautie, hath God shined.
3 Il s’avance, notre Dieu, et ce n’est pas en silence: devant lui, un feu qui dévore, autour de lui gronde la tempête.
Our God shall come and shall not keepe silence: a fire shall deuoure before him, and a mightie tempest shall be mooued round about him.
4 Il adresse son appel aux cieux d’en haut ainsi qu’à la terre, en vue de juger son peuple:
Hee shall call the heauen aboue, and the earth to iudge his people.
5 "Rassemblez-moi mes pieux serviteurs, qui ont sanctionné mon alliance par un sacrifice!"
Gather my Saints together vnto me, those that make a couenant with me with sacrifice.
6 Et les cieux proclament sa justice, car c’est Dieu qui est le juge. (Sélah)
And the heauens shall declare his righteousnes: for God is iudge himselfe. (Selah)
7 Ecoute, mon peuple, je veux parler; Israël, je veux t’adjurer solennellement: Je suis Dieu, ton Dieu!
Heare, O my people, and I wil speake: heare, O Israel, and I wil testifie vnto thee: for I am God, euen thy God.
8 Ce n’est pas pour tes sacrifices que je te reprends: tes holocaustes sont constamment sous mes yeux.
I wil not reproue thee for thy sacrifices, or thy burnt offerings, that haue not bene continually before me.
9 Je ne réclame pas de taureau de ta maison, ni des béliers de tes parcs.
I will take no bullocke out of thine house, nor goates out of thy foldes.
10 Car à moi sont tous les fauves de la forêt, les bêtes qui peuplent par milliers les montagnes.
For all the beastes of the forest are mine, and the beastes on a thousand mountaines.
11 Je connais tous les oiseaux des hauteurs, tout ce qui se meut dans les champs est à ma portée.
I knowe all the foules on the mountaines: and the wilde beastes of the fielde are mine.
12 Dussé-je avoir faim, je ne te le dirais pas, car l’univers, avec ce qu’il renferme, m’appartient.
If I bee hungry, I will not tell thee: for the world is mine, and all that therein is.
13 Est-ce donc que je mange la chair des taureaux? Est-ce que je bois le sang des béliers?
Will I eate the flesh of bulles? or drinke the blood of goates?
14 En guise de sacrifice, offre à Dieu des actions de grâce, ainsi tu acquitteras tes vœux envers le Très-Haut.
Offer vnto God praise, and pay thy vowes vnto the most High,
15 Alors tu pourras m’appeler au jour de la détresse, je te tirerai du danger, et tu m’honoreras!
And call vpon me in the day of trouble: so will I deliuer thee, and thou shalt glorifie me.
16 Quant au méchant, Dieu lui dit: "Qu’as-tu à proclamer mes statuts et à porter mon alliance sur tes lèvres?
But vnto the wicked said God, What hast thou to doe to declare mine ordinances, that thou shouldest take my couenant in thy mouth,
17 Tu détestes pourtant la loi morale, et rejettes avec dédain mes paroles.
Seeing thou hatest to bee reformed, and hast cast my wordes behinde thee?
18 Vois-tu un voleur? Tu fais cause commune avec lui, tu t’associes avec des gens dissolus.
For when thou seest a thiefe, thou runnest with him, and thou art partaker with the adulterers.
19 Tu donnes libre carrière à ta bouche pour le mal, et ta langue enfile des discours astucieux.
Thou giuest thy mouth to euill, and with thy tongue thou forgest deceit.
20 Tu t’installes pour déblatérer contre ton frère; sur le fils de ta mère tu jettes le déshonneur.
Thou sittest, and speakest against thy brother, and slanderest thy mothers sonne.
21 Voilà ce que tu fais, et je me tairais! T’Imagines-tu que je puisse être comme toi? Je te reprendrai et te mettrai mes griefs sous les yeux."
These things hast thou done, and I held my tongue: therefore thou thoughtest that I was like thee: but I will reproue thee, and set them in order before thee.
22 Faites-y donc attention, vous qui oubliez Dieu, de peur que je ne sévisse, sans que personne puisse détourner mes coups.
Oh cosider this, ye that forget God, least I teare you in pieces, and there be none that can deliuer you.
23 Quiconque offre comme sacrifice des actions de grâce m’honore; quiconque dirige avec soin sa conduite, je le ferai jouir de l’aide divine.
He that offereth praise, shall glorifie mee: and to him, that disposeth his way aright, will I shew the saluation of God.
