Psaumes 46
1 Au chef des chantres. Par les fils de Coré. Cantique sur les Alamoth. Dieu est pour nous un abri, une force, un appui dans les tourments, facilement accessible.
To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. On Alamoth. A song. God is our refuge and strength, a help in distresses, very readily found.
2 Aussi ne craindrons-nous rien, dût la terre bouger de sa place, et les montagnes s’abîmer au sein de l’Océan;
Therefore will we not fear though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the heart of the seas;
3 dussent ses flots gronder et bouillonner, et les montagnes trembler quand il entre en fureur!
Though the waters thereof roar [and] foam, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. (Selah)
4 Le fleuve…! Ses ondes réjouissent la ville de Dieu, demeure sainte du Très-Haut.
There is a river the streams whereof make glad the city of God, the sanctuary of the habitations of the Most High.
5 Dieu réside au milieu d’elle: elle ne sera point ébranlée, Dieu venant à son secours dès le lever de l’aurore.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her at the dawn of the morning.
6 Les peuples s’agitent, les royaumes chancellent; il fait retentir sa voix: la terre se liquéfie!
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 L’Eternel-Cebaot est avec nous, le Dieu de Jacob est une citadelle pour nous. (Sélah)
Jehovah of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our high fortress. (Selah)
8 Venez, contemplez les œuvres de l’Eternel, qui a opéré des ruines sur la terre!
Come, behold the works of Jehovah, what desolations he hath made in the earth:
9 Il met fin aux guerres jusqu’aux confins du globe, il brise les arcs, met en pièces les lances, et livre au feu les chars des combats.
He hath made wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariots in the fire.
10 Tenez-vous cois et sachez que moi, je suis Dieu, grand parmi les peuples, grand sur la terre!
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 L’Eternel-Cebaot est avec nous, le Dieu de Jacob est une citadelle pour nous. (Sélah)
