Psaumes 36
1 Au chef des chantres. Par le serviteur de l’Eternel, par David. Au fond de mon cœur je sens ce que le Péché insinue au méchant: "Qu’il n’ait nulle crainte de Dieu devant les yeux!"
To the chief Musician, [A Psalm] of David the servant of the LORD. The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, [that there is] no fear of God before his eyes.
2 Oui, il lui adresse des regards séducteurs, de façon à provoquer son iniquité, qu’il faudrait haïr.
For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
3 Les paroles de sa bouche ne sont que fausseté et perfidie, il renonce à être sage, à bien agir.
The words of his mouth [are] iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, [and] to do good.
4 Sur sa couche il machine la fraude; il s’engage sur un chemin qui n’est pas bon, il n’a pas l’horreur du mal.
He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way [that is] not good; he abhorreth not evil.
5 Eternel, ta grâce atteint jusqu’aux cieux, ta fidélité jusqu’aux nues.
Thy mercy, O LORD, [is] in the heavens; [and] thy faithfulness [reacheth] unto the clouds.
6 Ta justice est comme les montagnes puissantes, tes arrêts sont comme l’immense abîme: aux hommes et aux bêtes, tu es secourable, Eternel!
Thy righteousness [is] like the great mountains; thy judgments [are] a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
7 Combien précieuse est ta grâce, ô Dieu! Les fils de l’homme s’abritent à l’ombre de tes ailes.
How excellent [is] thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
8 Ils sont rassasiés de l’abondance de ta maison; tu les abreuves du fleuve de tes délices.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9 Car près de toi est la source de vie; à ta lumière nous voyons le jour.
For with thee [is] the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10 Etends ta bonté sur ceux qui te connaissent, et ta bienveillance sur les cœurs droits.
O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Que le pied de l’orgueil ne m’atteigne point; que la main des méchants ne me mette point en fuite!
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
12 Au contraire, qu’ils tombent, les malfaiteurs; qu’ils soient renversés sans pouvoir se relever!
There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
