< Psaumes 26 >

1 De David. Rends-moi justice, Seigneur, car j’ai marché, moi, dans mon intégrité, et en l’Eternel j’ai mis ma confiance sans broncher.
Unto the end, a psalm for David. Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked in my innocence: and I have put my trust in the Lord, and shall not be weakened.
2 Scrute-moi, Eternel, mets-moi à l’épreuve, sonde mes reins et mon cœur.
Prove me, O Lord, and try me; burn my reins and my heart.
3 Car ta bonté est devant mes yeux, et je ne fais que marcher dans ta vérité.
For thy mercy is before my eyes; and I am well pleased with thy truth.
4 Je ne prends point place avec des gens faux, je ne fraye point avec des hypocrites.
I have not sat with the council of vanity: neither will I go in with the doers of unjust things.
5 Je hais le clan des malfaiteurs, et avec les méchants je ne siège point.
I have hated the assembly of the malignant; and with the wicked I will not sit.
6 Je me lave les mains en état de pureté: puissé-je faire le tour, ô Seigneur, de ton autel,
I will wash my hands among the innocent; and will compass thy altar, O Lord:
7 pour faire entendre des accents de reconnaissance, et proclamer toutes tes merveilles!
That I may hear the voice of thy praise: and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8 Seigneur, j’aime le séjour de ta maison, et le lieu où réside ta gloire.
I have loved, O Lord, the beauty of thy house; and the place where thy glory dwelleth.
9 N’Enveloppe pas mon âme dans la ruine des méchants, ni ma vie dans celle des gens sanguinaires,
Take not away my soul, O God, with the wicked: nor my life with bloody men:
10 dont les mains sont chargées d’infamie, et la droite se remplit de dons corrupteurs;
In whose hands are iniquities: their right hand is filled with gifts.
11 alors que moi, je marche dans mon intégrité: délivre-moi et sois-moi propice!
But as for me, I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy on me.
12 Mon pied foule un chemin tout droit: dans les assemblées, je veux bénir le Seigneur.
My foot hath stood in the direct way: in the churches I will bless thee, O Lord.
