Psaumes 25
1 De David. Vers toi, Eternel, j’élève mon âme!
[A Psalm] of David. To thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
2 Mon Dieu! en toi je me confie, que je ne sois pas déçu! Que mes ennemis ne triomphent pas de moi!
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me,
3 Aussi bien, ceux qui espèrent en toi n’ont pas à rougir; seuls rougiront ceux qui, gratuitement, se montrent perfides.
Also, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed who transgress without cause.
4 Fais-moi connaître tes voies, ô Seigneur! Enseigne-moi tes sentiers.
Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Dirige-moi dans ta vérité, instruis-moi, car tu es le Dieu de mon salut: en toi j’espère tout le temps.
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou [art] the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Souviens-toi, Eternel, de tes bontés et de tes grâces, car elles existent de toute éternité.
Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they [have been] ever of old.
7 Les erreurs de ma jeunesse, mes fautes, oublie-les; souviens-toi seulement de moi selon ta miséricorde, pour l’amour de ta bonté, ô Seigneur!
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
8 L’Eternel est bon et droit, aussi montre-t-il aux pécheurs le vrai chemin.
Good and upright [is] the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 Il dirige les humbles dans le bon droit, et enseigne sa voie aux misérables.
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 Toutes les voies de l’Eternel sont grâce et bienveillance, pour ceux qui respectent son alliance et ses statuts.
All the paths of the LORD [are] mercy and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 En faveur de ton nom, Seigneur, pardonne mon iniquité, si grande qu’elle puisse être.
For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity; for it [is] great.
12 Quel est l’homme qui craint l’Eternel? Il le guidera dans le chemin qui a sa préférence.
What man [is] he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way [that] he shall choose.
13 Son âme vivra au sein du bonheur, et sa postérité prendra possession du pays.
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 L’Eternel communique ses mystères à ses adorateurs, il leur révèle son alliance.
The secret of the LORD [is] with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.
15 Constamment mes yeux se dirigent vers le Seigneur, car c’est lui qui dégage mes pieds du filet.
My eyes [are] ever towards the LORD; for he will pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Tourne-toi vers moi et prends-moi en pitié, car je suis isolé et pauvre.
Turn thee to me, and have mercy upon me; for I [am] desolate and afflicted.
17 Que les angoisses qui serrent mon cœur se relâchent! Délivre-moi de mes tourments.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Vois ma misère et mes peines, fais disparaître tous mes péchés.
Look upon my affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19 Vois mes ennemis, comme ils sont nombreux, et comme ils me poursuivent d’une haine violente.
Consider my enemies, for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 Protège mon âme et sauve-moi; que je ne sois pas confondu, moi qui m’abrite en toi.
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21 Que la loyauté et la droiture soient ma sauvegarde! Car j’ai mis mon espoir en toi.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 O Dieu! Délivre Israël de toutes ses détresses.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
