Psaumes 2
1 Pourquoi se démènent les peuples, et les nations agitent-elles de vains projets?
Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
2 Les rois de la terre se soulèvent, les princes se liguent ensemble contre l’Eternel et son oint.
The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together, against the LORD and against His Anointed One:
3 "Brisons disent-ils leurs liens. Rejetons loin de nous leurs chaînes!"
“Let us break Their chains and cast away Their cords.”
4 Celui qui réside dans les cieux en rit, le Seigneur se raille d’eux.
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord taunts them.
5 Puis il les apostrophe dans sa colère et, dans son courroux, il les terrifie:
Then He rebukes them in His anger, and terrifies them in His fury:
6 "C’Est moi dit-il qui ai consacré mon roi sur Sion, ma montagne sainte!"
“I have installed My King on Zion, upon My holy mountain.”
7 Je veux proclamer ce qui est une loi immuable: "L’Eternel m’a dit: Tu es mon fils, c’est moi qui, aujourd’hui, t’ai engendré!
I will proclaim the decree spoken to Me by the LORD: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.
8 Demande-le-moi, et je te donnerai des peuples comme héritage, les confins de la terre pour domaine.
Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.
9 Tu les briseras avec un sceptre de fer, tu les broieras comme un vase de potier."
You will break them with an iron scepter; You will shatter them like pottery.”
10 Et maintenant, ô rois, sachez comprendre, tenez-vous pour avertis, juges de la terre!
Therefore be wise, O kings; be admonished, O judges of the earth.
11 Adorez l’Eternel avec crainte, et réjouissez-vous en Dieu avec tremblement.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Rendez hommage au fils, de peur qu’il ne s’indigne, et que vous n’alliez a votre perte; car bien vite sa colère prend feu: heureux tous ceux qui s’abritent en lui!
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in your rebellion, when His wrath ignites in an instant. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.
