Psaumes 146

1 Alléluia! Mon âme, célèbre le Seigneur.

Hallelujah! Praise the LORD, O my soul.

2 Je veux célébrer l’Eternel ma vie durant, chanter mon Dieu tant que j’existerai.

I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

3 Ne placez pas votre confiance dans les grands, dans le fils d’Adam, impuissant à secourir.

Put not your trust in princes, in mortal man, who cannot save.

4 Que son souffle se retire de lui, il rentre dans sa poussière: le jour même ses projets sont anéantis.

When his spirit departs, he returns to the ground; on that very day his plans perish.

5 Heureux qui a pour appui le Dieu de Jacob, et met son espoir en l’Eternel, son Dieu!

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,

6 Il a fait le ciel, la terre, la mer et tout ce qu’ils contiennent; il est éternellement fidèle à sa parole,

the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He remains faithful forever.

7 fait valoir le droit des opprimés, donne du pain à ceux qui ont faim; l’Eternel met en liberté les prisonniers.

He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free,

8 L’Eternel rend la vue aux aveugles, l’Eternel redresse ceux qui sont courbés. L’Eternel aime les justes;

the LORD opens the eyes of the blind, the LORD lifts those who are weighed down, the LORD loves the righteous.

9 l’Eternel veille sur les étrangers, soutient l’orphelin et la veuve, tandis qu’il bouleverse la vie des pervers.

The LORD protects foreigners; He sustains the fatherless and the widow, but the ways of the wicked He frustrates.

10 Le Seigneur régnera à jamais, ton Dieu, ô Sion, d’âge en âge. Alléluia!

The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Hallelujah!
