Psaumes 131

1 Cantique des degrés. De David. Seigneur, mon cœur n’est pas gonflé d’orgueil, mes yeux ne sont pas altiers. Je ne recherche point de choses trop élevées pour moi, au-dessus de ma portée.

Yahweh, I am not proud and I have not thought highly about (myself/the things that I have done). And I do not concern myself about things [that you have done] that are very big or very wonderful.

2 Au contraire, j’ai apaisé et fait taire mon âme; tel un enfant sevré, reposant sur le sein de sa mère, tel un enfant sevré, mon âme est calme en moi.

Instead, I am calm and peaceful, like a [small] child who lies quietly in its mother’s arms [SIM]. In the same way, I am peaceful.

3 Qu’Israël mette son attente en l’Eternel, désormais et pour l’éternité!

You [my fellow] Israelis, confidently expect that Yahweh [will do good things for you], now and forever!
