Psaumes 119
1 Heureux ceux dont la voie est intègre, qui suivent la Loi de l’Eternel!
ALEPH. Blessed [are] the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
2 Heureux ceux qui respectent ses statuts, le recherchent de tout leur cœur,
Blessed [are] they that keep his testimonies, [and that] seek him with the whole heart.
3 qui, se gardant bien de commettre aucune injustice, marchent dans ses voies!
They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4 Tu as promulgué tes ordonnances, pour qu’on les observe strictement.
Thou hast commanded [us] to keep thy precepts diligently.
5 Ah! puissent mes pas être fermes, pour que j’observe tes préceptes!
O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6 Alors, je ne serai point déçu, en portant mes regards sur tous tes commandements.
Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect to all thy commandments.
7 Je te rendrai grâce en toute droiture de cœur, en m’instruisant des règles de ta justice.
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
8 Tes statuts, je les observerai: ne m’abandonne en aucun temps.
I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
9 Comment le jeune homme rendra-t-il pure sa conduite? En se conformant à tes paroles.
BETH. Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [to it], according to thy word.
10 De tout mon cœur je m’enquiers de toi, ne me laisse pas dévier de tes prescriptions.
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 En mon sein j’ai déposé tes instructions, pour ne pas faillir à ton égard.
Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Béni sois-tu, ô Eternel! Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
Blessed [art] thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13 De mes lèvres je proclame toutes les règles sorties de ta bouche.
With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 Dans le chemin tracé par tes témoignages je trouve ma joie, comme si c’était le comble de la richesse.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as [much as] in all riches.
15 Je m’entretiens de tes commandements, et je contemple tes voies.
I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect to thy ways.
16 Je me délecte de tes préceptes, et n’oublie point tes paroles.
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
17 Accorde tes bienfaits à ton serviteur, pour que je vive et observe tes paroles.
GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, [that] I may live, and keep thy word.
18 Dessille-moi les yeux, pour que je puisse contempler les merveilles issues de ta Loi.
Open thou my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
19 Je suis un simple étranger sur la terre, ne me tiens pas cachés tes commandements.
I [am] a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20 Mon âme est travaillée du désir de tes règlements, à toute époque.
My soul breaketh for the longing [that it hath] to thy judgments at all times.
21 Toi, tu réprouves les arrogants maudits, qui se fourvoient loin de tes commandements.
Thou hast rebuked the proud [that are] cursed, who do err from thy commandments.
22 Affranchis-moi de la honte et du mépris, car je respecte tes témoignages.
Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.
23 Dussent même les grands prendre siège et déblatérer contre moi, ton serviteur méditera tes lois.
Princes also did sit [and] speak against me: [but] thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
24 Oui, tes témoignages sont mes délices, mes meilleurs conseillers.
Thy testimonies also [are] my delight, [and] my counselors.
25 Mon âme est collée à la poussière, conserve-moi en vie, suivant ta parole.
DALETH. My soul cleaveth to the dust: revive thou me according to thy word.
26 J’Ai exposé ma conduite, et tu m’as répondu; enseigne-moi tes lois.
I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes.
27 Laisse-moi comprendre le chemin de tes préceptes, et je réfléchirai à tes merveilles.
Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
28 Mon âme, de chagrin, se fond en larmes, redresse-moi, selon ta parole.
My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according to thy word.
29 Eloigne de moi le chemin du mensonge, gratifie-moi de ta Loi.
Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.
30 J’Ai choisi la voie de la fidélité, placé tes règles sous mes regards.
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid [before me].
31 Je suis attaché à tes statuts, Seigneur, ne m’inflige aucune déception.
I have adhered to thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.
32 Je suivrai avec empressement le chemin de tes préceptes, car tu élargis mon cœur.
I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
33 Enseigne-moi le chemin de tes préceptes, je veux en suivre les traces.
HE. Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it [to] the end.
34 Donne-moi l’intelligence pour que je garde ta loi et l’observe de tout mon cœur.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yes, I shall observe it with [my] whole heart.
35 Dirige-moi dans le sentier de tes commandements, car j’y trouve ma satisfaction.
Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for in that do I delight.
36 Incline mon cœur vers tes vérités, et non vers un vain lucre.
Incline my heart to thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
37 Détourne mes yeux de la vue des choses frivoles, fais-moi vivre dans tes voies.
Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity; [and] revive thou me in thy way.
38 Accomplis ton dire en faveur de ton serviteur, car il amène à te révérer.
Establish thy word to thy servant, who [is devoted] to thy fear.
39 Ecarte de moi la honte que je redoute, car tes jugements sont précieux.
Turn away my reproach which I fear: for thy judgments [are] good.
40 Voici, j’ai la passion de tes préceptes, fais-moi vivre par ta justice.
Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: revive me in thy righteousness.
41 Que tes bontés descendent sur moi, Eternel, ton salut, tel que tu l’as promis.
VAU. Let thy mercies come also to me, O LORD, [even] thy salvation, according to thy word.
42 Je pourrai ainsi répliquer à qui m’outrage, car j’ai confiance en ta parole.
So shall I have with which to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.
43 Ne supprime jamais une parole de vérité de ma bouche, car je mets mon attente en tes jugements.
And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments.
44 Je veux observer ta Loi constamment, à tout jamais.
So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.
45 Ainsi je circulerai bien au large, car j’aurai eu le souci de tes préceptes.
And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
46 Je ferai de tes vérités l’objet de mes discours, en face des rois, sans aucune fausse honte.
I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
47 Et je ferai mes délices de tes commandements, qui me sont bien chers.
And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.
48 Je tendrai mes mains vers tes commandements, que j’aime, et consacrerai mes méditations à tes préceptes.
My hands also will I lift to thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.
49 Rappelle-toi, en faveur de ton serviteur, la promesse où tu as voulu que je mette mon attente.
ZAIN. Remember the word to thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
50 C’Est là ma consolation dans la misère, que ta parole me rende la vie.
This [is] my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath revived me.
51 Des arrogants m’ont raillé au possible: je n’ai point dévié de ta Loi.
The proud have had me greatly in derision: [yet] I have not declined from thy law.
52 Je me remémore tes jugements de jadis, ô Eternel, et j’y trouve du réconfort.
I remembered thy judgments of old, O LORD; and have comforted myself.
53 Un violent frisson m’avait saisi à cause des méchants, qui abandonnent ta Loi.
Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
54 Mais tes préceptes sont devenus pour moi un sujet de cantiques dans ma demeure passagère.
Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.
55 Je me souviens de ton nom pendant la nuit, Seigneur, et j’observe ta Loi.
I have remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law.
56 C’Est là mon bonheur à moi, de m’attacher à tes préceptes.
This I had, because I kept thy precepts.
57 "C’Est mon lot à moi, ô Eternel, me suis-je dit, d’observer tes paroles."
CHETH. [Thou art] my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.
58 Je t’implore de tout mon cœur, sois-moi propice, selon ta promesse.
I entreated thy favor with [my] whole heart: be merciful to me according to thy word.
59 J’Ai médité sur mes voies, et ramené mes pas vers tes statuts.
I thought on my ways, and turned my feet to thy testimonies.
60 Je me suis empressé, sans perdre un moment, d’observer tes commandements.
I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.
61 Les liens des méchants m’avaient enserré: je n’ai point oublié ta Loi.
The bands of the wicked have robbed me: [but] I have not forgotten thy law.
62 Au milieu de la nuit je me lève pour te rendre grâce, à cause de tes équitables jugements.
At midnight I will rise to give thanks to thee, because of thy righteous judgments.
63 Je suis l’allié de tous ceux qui te révèrent et qui pratiquent tes lois.
I [am] a companion of all [them] that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
64 De ta grâce, Eternel, la terre est remplie: enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
65 Tu as traité avec bienveillance ton serviteur, ô Eternel, conformément à ta parole.
TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according to thy word.
66 Enseigne-moi ces choses précieuses: le jugement et la science, car j’ai foi en tes commandements.
Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
67 Avant que je fusse humilié, je m’égarais; maintenant, je suis attentif à tes discours.
Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.
68 Tu es bon et tu exerces le bien, instruis-moi dans tes préceptes.
Thou [art] good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.
69 Des orgueilleux inventent des mensonges contre moi, et moi, de tout cœur, j’observe tes ordonnances.
The proud have forged a lie against me: [but] I will keep thy precepts with [my] whole heart.
70 Leur cœur est bouché comme par la graisse: moi, je fais mes délices de ta Loi.
Their heart is as gross as fat; [but] I delight in thy law.
71 C’Est un avantage pour moi d’avoir connu la misère, pour mieux apprendre tes préceptes.
[It is] good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
72 Plus précieux est pour moi l’enseignement de ta bouche que des monceaux de pièces d’or et d’argent.
The law of thy mouth [is] better to me than thousands of gold and silver.
73 Ce sont tes mains qui m’ont formé et organisé, donne-moi l’intelligence pour que j’apprenne à connaître tes commandements.
JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
74 Ceux qui te craignent, en me voyant, seront dans la joie, car j’espère en ta parole.
They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.
75 Je sais, ô Seigneur, que tes arrêts sont toute justice, et que c’est en équité que tu m’as humilié.
I know, O LORD, that thy judgments [are] right, and [that] thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
76 Que ta grâce s’applique donc à me consoler, comme tu l’avais promis à ton serviteur.
Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word to thy servant.
77 Que ta miséricorde s’étende sur moi et que je vive, puisque ta Loi fait mes délices.
Let thy tender mercies come to me, that I may live: for thy law [is] my delight.
78 Que les orgueilleux soient déçus, pour m’avoir maltraité gratuitement; moi, je méditerai tes préceptes.
Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: [but] I will meditate in thy precepts.
79 Que tes adorateurs reviennent à moi, et ceux qui connaissent tes vérités.
Let those that fear thee turn to me, and those that have known thy testimonies.
80 Que mon cœur soit sincèrement attaché à tes lois, afin que je n’aie point à rougir.
Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I may not be ashamed.
81 Mon âme languit après ton secours, c’est en ta parole que je mets mon espoir.
CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: [but] I hope in thy word.
82 Mes yeux se consument dans l’attente de ta parole, tandis que je dis: "Quand me consoleras-tu?"
My eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Car je suis comme une outre dans des flots de fumée: tes préceptes, je ne les ai point oubliés.
For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; [yet] I do not forget thy statutes.
84 Que dureront les jours de ton serviteur? Quand feras-tu justice de mes persécuteurs?
How many [are] the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?
85 Des pervers m’ont creusé des fosses, au mépris de ta Loi.
The proud have digged pits for me, which [are] not according to thy law.
86 Tous tes commandements sont loyauté parfaite, eux me pourchassent sans motif: viens à mon aide.
All thy commandments [are] faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.
87 Peu s’en faut qu’ils ne m’aient anéanti sur terre, alors que moi, je n’ai point délaissé tes préceptes.
They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts.
88 Fidèle à ta bonté, conserve-moi en vie, et je respecterai le témoignage de ta bouche.
Revive me after thy loving-kindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
89 Pour l’éternité, Seigneur, ta parole demeure immuable dans les cieux.
LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
90 D’Âge en âge dure ta fidélité: tu as affermi la terre, et elle est inébranlable.
Thy faithfulness [is] to all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
91 Selon tes lois, les êtres subsistent aujourd’hui, car ils sont tous tes serviteurs.
They continue this day according to thy ordinances: for all [are] thy servants.
92 Si ta Loi n’avait fait mes délices, j’aurais succombé dans ma misère.
Unless thy law [had been] my delights, I should then have perished in my affliction.
93 Jamais je n’oublierai tes préceptes, car par eux tu m’assures la vie.
I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast revived me.
94 Je suis à toi, prête-moi secours, car je m’enquiers de tes ordres.
I [am] thine, save me; for I have sought thy precepts.
95 Des méchants me guettent pour me perdre: je cherche à pénétrer le sens de tes prescriptions.
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: [but] I will consider thy testimonies.
96 A tout bien j’ai vu des limites: ta Loi est infiniment vaste.
I have seen an end of all perfection: [but] thy commandment [is] exceeding broad.
97 Combien j’aime ta Loi! Tout le temps elle est l’objet de mes méditations.
MEM. O how I love thy law! it [is] my meditation all the day.
98 Tes commandements me rendent plus sage que mes ennemis, car ils sont pour moi un bien inépuisable.
Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than my enemies: for they [are] ever with me.
99 Je suis plus avisé que tous mes précepteurs, car tes vérités sont le thème de mes réflexions.
I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies [are] my (meditation)
100 J’Ai plus d’expérience que les vieillards, car je respecte tes préceptes.
I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.
101 J’Ai tenu mes pas éloignés de tout mauvais chemin, en vue d’observer tes paroles.
I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
102 Je n’ai point dévié de tes règles, car c’est toi qui m’as instruit.
I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
103 Que tes paroles sont douces à mon palais! Le miel l’est moins à ma bouche.
How sweet are thy words to my taste! [yes, sweeter] than honey to my mouth!
104 J’Ai puisé mon savoir dans tes préceptes, c’est pourquoi je hais toute voie mensongère.
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
105 Ta parole est un flambeau qui éclaire mes pas, une lumière qui rayonne sur ma route.
NUN. Thy word [is] a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.
106 J’Ai fait le serment, et je le tiendrai, d’observer les règles de ta justice.
I have sworn, and I will perform [it], that I will keep thy righteous judgments.
107 Je suis extrêmement accablé, Eternel, conserve-moi en vie selon ta parole.
I am afflicted very much: revive me, O LORD, according to thy word.
108 Agrée de grâce, Seigneur, les vœux de ma bouche, et enseigne-moi tes lois.
Accept, I beseech thee, the free-will-offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.
109 Mon âme court sans cesse des dangers, et je n’ai point oublié ta loi.
My soul [is] continually in my hand: yet I do not forget thy law.
110 Des méchants me dressent des pièges, pourtant je ne dévie point de tes préceptes.
The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.
111 Je reste pour toujours en possession de tes vérités, car elles sont la joie de mon cœur.
Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they [are] the rejoicing of my heart.
112 J’Ai incliné mon cœur à accomplir tes lois à tout jamais, jusqu’à la fin dernière.
I have inclined my heart to perform thy statutes always, [even to] the end.
113 Je hais les gens à double face, mais ta Loi, je l’aime.
SAMECH. I hate [vain] thoughts: but thy law do I love.
114 Tu es mon abri et mon bouclier, j’espère en ta parole.
Thou [art] my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
115 Loin de moi, ô malfaiteurs! Je veux observer les commandements de mon Dieu.
Depart from me, ye evil-doers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.
116 Soutiens-moi selon ta promesse pour que je vive, et ne laisse pas mon espoir se changer en déception.
Uphold me according to thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
117 Accorde-moi ton appui pour que je sois sauvé, je me tournerai sans cesse vers tes lois.
Support me, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect to thy statutes continually.
118 Tu foules aux pieds ceux qui errent loin de tes préceptes, car leurs ruses habiles ne sont que mensonge.
Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.
119 Comme des scories, tu élimines tous les méchants sur terre, c’est pourquoi j’aime tes vérités.
Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth [like] dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.
120 Ma chair frissonne de la terreur que tu inspires, et je redoute tes jugements.
My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
121 J’Ai pratiqué la justice et l’équité, ne m’abandonne pas à mes oppresseurs.
AIN. I have done judgment and justice; leave me not to my oppressors.
122 Interviens pour le bonheur de ton serviteur, que des arrogants ne m’accablent point.
Be surety for thy servant for good: let not the proud oppress me.
123 Mes yeux languissent après ton secours, et après ta parole de salut.
My eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.
124 Traite ton serviteur selon ta grâce, et enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.
125 Je suis ton serviteur, donne-moi la sagacité, pour que je comprenne tes vérités.
I [am] thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.
126 Le temps est venu d’agir pour l’Eternel: on a violé ta Loi.
[It is] time for [thee], LORD, to work: [for] they have made void thy law.
127 C’Est pourquoi j’aime tes commandements, plus que l’or et le métal fin.
Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yes, above fine gold.
128 C’Est pourquoi je reconnais la parfaite droiture de tous tes préceptes, et déteste toute voie mensongère.
Therefore I esteem all [thy] precepts [concerning] all [things to be] right; [and] I hate every false way.
129 Merveilleux sont tes statuts, aussi mon âme les garde-t-elle avec soin.
PE. Thy testimonies [are] wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
130 La révélation de tes paroles projette de la lumière, donne de l’intelligence aux simples.
The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding to the simple.
131 J’Ouvre largement la bouche pour aspirer, car j’ai la passion de tes commandements.
I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.
132 Tourne-toi vers moi et sois-moi propice, comme tu le fais pour ceux qui aiment ton nom.
Look thou upon me, and be merciful to me, as thou usest to do to those that love thy name.
133 Affermis mes pas par tes discours, qu’aucune mauvaise passion ne prenne le dessus sur moi.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Délivre-moi de l’oppression des hommes, pour que je puisse observer tes préceptes.
Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts.
135 Fais luire ta face sur ton serviteur, et enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy statutes.
136 Mes yeux ont versé des torrents de larmes, parce qu’on n’observe pas ta Loi.
Rivers of waters run down my eyes, because they keep not thy law.
137 Tu es juste, ô Seigneur, et équitables sont tes jugements.
TSADDI. Righteous [art] thou, O LORD, and upright [are] thy judgments.
138 Tu as imposé tes justes ordonnances: elles sont tout à fait infaillibles.
Thy testimonies [that] thou hast commanded [are] righteous and very faithful.
139 Je suis consumé par mon zèle jaloux, car mes adversaires oublient tes paroles.
My zeal hath consumed me; because my enemies have forgotten thy words.
140 Ta parole est infiniment épurée, elle est chère à ton serviteur.
Thy word [is] very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.
141 Je suis chétif et méprisé: tes préceptes, je ne les ai point oubliés.
I [am] small and despised: [yet] I do not forget thy precepts.
142 Ta justice est éternellement équitable, et ta Loi est vérité.
Thy righteousness [is] an everlasting righteousness, and thy law [is] the truth.
143 La détresse et l’angoisse m’ont atteint: tes commandements sont mes délices.
Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: [yet] thy commandments [are] my delights.
144 Tes statuts sont à jamais équitables, permets-moi de les comprendre, pour que je vive.
The righteousness of thy testimonies [is] everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.
145 Je t’invoque de tout cœur, exauce-moi, Seigneur! Je veux observer tes préceptes.
KOPH. I cried with [my] whole heart; hear me, O LORD: I will keep thy statutes.
146 Je t’appelle, viens à mon secours, et je garderai tes statuts.
I cried to thee; save me, and I shall keep thy testimonies.
147 Dès l’aurore je m’empresse d’implorer, j’espère en ta parole.
I came before the dawning of the morning, and cried: I hoped in thy word.
148 Mes yeux devancent les veilles de la nuit, pour méditer ta parole.
My eyes anticipated the [night] watches, that I might meditate in thy word.
149 Daigne écouter ma voix, selon ta bonté, Eternel; fais-moi vivre selon l’arrêt de ta justice.
Hear my voice, according to thy loving-kindness: O LORD, revive me according to thy judgment.
150 Ils m’approchent, ceux qui courent après l’infamie, il s’éloignent de ta Loi.
They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law.
151 Toi, Seigneur, tu es près de moi, tous tes commandements sont vérité.
Thou [art] near, O LORD; and all thy commandments [are] truth.
152 Dès longtemps j’avais connaissance de tes statuts, car tu les as établis pour l’éternité.
Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.
153 Vois ma misère et tire-moi du danger, car je n’ai pas oublié ta Loi.
RESH. Consider my affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law.
154 Prends en main ma cause et délivre-moi, fais-moi vivre pour me consacrer à ta parole.
Plead my cause, and deliver me: revive me according to thy word.
155 Le salut est loin des méchants, car ils ne se soucient pas de tes préceptes.
Salvation [is] far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.
156 Grande est ta miséricorde, Eternel, fais-moi vivre selon l’arrêt de ta justice.
Great [are] thy tender mercies, O LORD: revive me according to thy judgments.
157 Nombreux sont mes persécuteurs et mes ennemis; je n’ai point dévié de tes statuts.
Many [are] my persecutors and my enemies; [yet] I do not decline from thy testimonies.
158 J’Ai observé les traîtres et j’en ai été écœuré, car ils ne respectent pas ta parole.
I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word.
159 Vois comme j’aime tes prescriptions, Seigneur, selon ta bonté, fais-moi vivre.
Consider how I love thy precepts: revive me, O LORD, according to thy loving-kindness.
160 L’Ensemble de tes paroles est vérité, éternels sont tous les arrêts de ta justice.
Thy word [is] true [from] the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments [endureth] for ever.
161 Des grands me persécutent gratuitement, et mon cœur tremble devant ta parole.
SCHIN. Princes have persecuted me without a cause; but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.
162 Je me réjouis de tes promesses, comme quelqu’un qui a trouvé un riche butin.
I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.
163 Je hais le mensonge, je l’ai en horreur, c’est ta Loi que j’aime.
I hate and abhor lying: [but] thy law do I love.
164 Sept fois par jour je célèbre tes louanges, en raison de tes justes arrêts.
Seven times a day do I praise thee, because of thy righteous judgments.
165 Un grand bonheur attend ceux qui aiment ta Loi: pour eux point de cause de chute.
Great peace have they who love thy law: and nothing shall cause them to stumble.
166 J’Ai pleine confiance en ton secours, Seigneur, et j’accomplis tes commandements.
LORD, I have hoped for thy salvation, and performed thy commandments.
167 Mon âme observe tes témoignages, je les aime infiniment.
My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.
168 J’Observe tes prescriptions et tes statuts, car toutes mes voies sont sous tes regards.
I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways [are] before thee.
169 Que mon hymne arrive jusqu’à toi, Eternel, fais-moi comprendre le sens de ta parole.
TAU. Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.
170 Que ma supplication vienne devant toi, sauve-moi selon ta promesse.
Let my supplication come before thee: deliver me according to thy word.
171 Mes lèvres laisseront s’échapper tes louanges, car tu m’enseignes tes préceptes.
My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.
172 Ma langue chantera ta parole, car tous tes commandements sont équité.
My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments [are] righteousness.
173 Puisse ta main s’appliquer à me secourir, puisque j’ai fait choix de tes prescriptions!
Let thy hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts.
174 J’Aspire à ton secours, Eternel, et ta Loi fait mes délices.
I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law [is] my delight.
175 Que mon âme vive pour te louer, que tes jugements soient mon soutien.
Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me.
176 J’Erre comme une brebis égarée; mets-toi à la recherche de ton serviteur! Car je n’ai pas oublié tes commandements.
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.
