Psaumes 116
1 J’Aime que l’Eternel écoute ma voix, mes supplications,
I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice [and] my supplications.
2 qu’il incline son oreille vers moi, alors que je l’invoque chaque jour de ma vie.
Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon [him] as long as I live.
3 Les liens de la mort m’avaient enveloppé, les angoisses du Cheol m’avaient étreint; j’avais éprouvé détresse et douleurs. (Sheol h7585)
The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol h7585)
4 Mais j’ai invoqué le nom du Seigneur: "Ah! de grâce, Seigneur, sauve mon âme!"
Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 Clément est l’Eternel et juste, notre Dieu est compatissant.
Gracious [is] the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God [is] merciful.
6 L’Eternel protège les simples; j’étais abaissé, et il m’a porté secours.
The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Reviens, ô mon âme, à ta quiétude, car l’Eternel te comble de ses bienfaits.
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 Oui, tu as préservé mon âme de la mort, mes yeux des larmes, mes pieds de la chute.
For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, [and] my feet from falling.
9 Je circulerai devant le Seigneur, dans les terres des vivants.
I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
10 Je suis plein de foi quand je parle, si humilié que je puisse être.
I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
11 Pourtant j’avais dit dans ma précipitation: "Tout dans l’homme est trompeur!"
I said in my haste, All men [are] liars.
12 Que ferai-je pour l’Eternel en retour de toutes ses bontés pour moi?
What shall I render unto the LORD [for] all his benefits toward me?
13 Je lèverai la coupe du salut, et proclamerai le nom de l’Eternel.
I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
14 Mes vœux, je les acquitterai envers l’Eternel, à la face de tout son peuple.
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.
15 Une chose précieuse aux regards de l’Eternel, c’est la mort de ses pieux serviteurs.
Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of his saints.
16 Oh! grâce, Seigneur, car je suis ton serviteur, je suis ton serviteur, fils de ta servante: puisses-tu dénouer mes liens!
O LORD, truly I [am] thy servant; I [am] thy servant, [and] the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 A toi, j’offrirai un sacrifice de reconnaissance, et je proclamerai le nom du Seigneur.
I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.
18 Mes vœux, je les acquitterai envers l’Eternel, à la face de tout son peuple,
I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,
19 dans les parvis de la maison de l’Eternel, dans ton enceinte, ô Jérusalem. Alléluia!
In the courts of the LORD’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
