Psaumes 108

1 Cantique. Psaume de David. Mon cœur reste ferme, ô Dieu! Je puis chanter, célébrer tes louanges; c’est là mon honneur.

O god, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

2 Réveillez-vous, ô luth et harpe! Je veux réveiller l’aurore.

Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

3 Je te louerai parmi les nations, ô Seigneur, je te chanterai parmi les peuples.

I will praise you, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto you among the nations.

4 Car ta grâce s’élève par-dessus les cieux, et ta bonté atteint jusqu’au firmament.

For your mercy is great above the heavens: and your truth reachs unto the clouds.

5 Montre ta grandeur, ô Dieu, qui dépasse les cieux; que ta gloire brille sur toute la terre!

Be you exalted, O God, above the heavens: and your glory above all the earth;

6 Afin que tes bien-aimés échappent au danger, secours-nous avec ta droite, et exauce-moi!

That your beloved may be delivered: save with your right hand, and answer me.

7 L’Eternel l’a annoncé en son sanctuaire: "Je triompherai, je veux m’adjuger Sichem, mesurer au cordeau la vallée de Souccot.

God has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

8 A moi Galaad! à moi Manassé! Ephraïm est la puissante sauvegarde de ma tête, Juda est mon sceptre.

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

9 Moab est le bassin où je me lave; sur Edom, je jette ma sandale, je triomphe du pays des Philistins."

Moab is my pot for washing; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.

10 Qui me conduira à la ville forte? Qui saura me mener jusqu’à Edom?

Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

11 Ne sera-ce pas toi, ô Dieu, toi qui nous avais délaissés, qui ne faisais plus campagne avec nos armées?

Will not you, O God, who have cast us off? and will not you, O God, go forth with our hosts?

12 Prête-nous secours contre l’adversaire, puisque trompeuse est l’aide de l’homme.

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

13 Avec Dieu, nous ferons des prouesses: c’est lui qui écrasera nos ennemis.

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
