Néhémie 3
1 Elyachib, le grand-prêtre, et ses frères, les prêtres, se mirent à l’œuvre et bâtirent la porte des brebis; ils en firent la consécration et en posèrent les battants; de là ils bâtirent jusqu’à la tour des cent, qu’ils consacrèrent, et jusqu’à la tour de Hananel.
Then arose Eliashib the high priest and his brethren the priests, and built the sheep-gate, they, hallowed it, and set up the doors thereof, —even unto the tower of Hammeah, hallowed they it, unto the tower of Hananel;
2 A côté bâtirent les gens de Jéricho, et à côté Zaccour, fils d’Imri.
and, at his hand, built, the men of Jericho, —and at his [other] hand built Zaccur, son of Imri.
3 Les enfants de Senaa bâtirent la porte des poissons; ils en firent la charpente, en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les traverses.
And, the fish-gate, did the sons of Hassenaah build, —they, laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof;
4 A côté Merêmot, fils d’Ouria, fils de Hakoç, travailla aux réparations; à côté travailla Mechoullam, fils de Bérékhia, fils de Mechèzabel; à côté travailla Çadok, fils de Baana.
and, at their hand, repaired, Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz, and, at their hand, repaired, Meshullum son of Berechiah son of Meshezabel, —and, at their hand, repaired, Zadok son of Baana;
5 A côté travaillèrent les gens de Tekoa, mais leurs notables ne se plièrent point au service de leur seigneur.
and, at their hand, repaired, the Tekoites, —but, their chiefs, put not their neck into the service of their lords.
6 Joïada, fils de Passêah, et Mechoullam, fils de Besodia, réparèrent la vieille porte; ils en firent la charpente, en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les traverses.
And, the old gate, did Joiada son of Paseah, and Meshullam, son of Besodeiah, repair, —they, laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof;
7 A côté travaillèrent Melatia de Gabaon et Yadôn de Mèrôn, des gens de Gabaon et de Miçpa, qui relevaient du siège du gouverneur de ce côté du fleuve.
and, at their hand, repaired, Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, —who pertained to the throne of the pasha Beyond the River;
8 A côté travailla Ouzziel, fils de Harhaïa, de la corporation des orfèvres; à côté travailla Hanania, de la corporation des parfumeurs; ils renforcèrent Jérusalem jusqu’au rempart large.
at his hand, repaired, Uzziel son of Harhaiah, goldsmiths, and, at his hand, repaired Hananiah son of the perfumers, —and they fortified Jerusalem, as far as the broad wall;
9 A côté travailla Refaïa, fils de Heur, chef de la moitié du district de Jérusalem.
and, at their hand, repaired, Rephaiah son of Hur, ruler of a half-circuit of Jerusalem;
10 A côté travailla Yedaïa, fils de Haroumaf, vis-à-vis de sa maison; à côté travailla Hattouch, fils de Hachabneya.
and, at their hand, repaired, Jedaiah son of Harumaph, even over against his own house, —and, at his hand, repaired, Hattush, son of Hashabneiah;
11 Une seconde portion du mur fut réparée par Malkia, fils de Harim, et Hachoub, fils de Pahat-Moab, ainsi que la tour des fours.
a second length, did Malchijah son of Harim and Hasshub son of Pahath-moab, repair, —also the tower of the ovens;
12 A côté, travailla Challoum, fils de Halohêch, chef de la moitié du district de Jérusalem, assisté de ses filles.
and, at his hand, repaired, Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of a half-circuit of Jerusalem, —he and his daughters.
13 La porte de la vallée fut réparée par Hanoun et les habitants de Zanoah: ils la bâtirent et en posèrent les battants, les verrous et les traverses; en outre, ils restaurèrent le mur sur une longueur de mille coudées jusqu’à la porte des ordures.
The valley-gate, did Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah, repair, —they, built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, —also a thousand cubits in the wall, as far as the dung-gate.
14 La porte des ordures fut réparée par Malkia, fils de Rêkhab, chef du district de Beth-Hakérém; celui-ci la rebâtit et en posa les battants, les verrous et les traverses.
And, the dung-gate, did Malchijah son of Rechab, ruler of the circuit of Beth-haccherem, repair, —he, built it, and set up the doors thereof, he locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
15 La porte de la source fut réparée par Challoun, fils de Kol-Hozé, chef du district de Miçpa: celui-ci la bâtit, la surmonta d’un toit, en posa les battants, les verrous et les traverses; de plus, il refit le mur de l’étang de Chélah dans la direction du jardin royal et jusqu’aux marches qui conduisent au bas de la ville de David.
And, the fountain-gate, did Shallun son of Col-hozeh ruler of the circuit of Mizpah, repair, he, built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, —also the wall of the pool of Shelah, by the garden of the king, even as far as the stairs that go down from the city of David;
16 A la suite, travailla Néhémie, fils d’Azbouk, chef de la moitié du district de Beth-Çour, jusqu’en face des tombeaux de David et jusqu’à l’étang nouvellement creusé et la maison des héros.
after him, repaired, Nehemiah son of Azbuk, ruler of the half-circuit of Beth-zur, —as far as over against the sepulchres of David, even unto the pool which had been made, and unto the house of heroes;
17 A la suite, travaillèrent les Lévites dirigés par Rehoum, fils de Bâni; à côté travailla Hachabia, chef de la moitié du district de Keïla, pour son district.
after him, repaired, the Levites, Rehum son of Bani, —at his hand, repaired, Hashabiah, ruler of the half-circuit of Keilah, for his circuit;
18 A la suite, travaillèrent leurs frères dirigés par Bawaï, fils de Hênadad, chef de l’autre moitié du district de Keïla.
after him, repaired, their brethren, Bavvai son of Henadad, —ruler of the [other] half-circuit of Keilah;
19 A côté de lui Ezer, fils de Yêchoua, chef de Miçpa, répara une deuxième portion de mur vis-à-vis de Ia montée de l’arsenal, dans l’angle.
and there repaired at his hand, Ezer son of Jeshua, ruler of Mizpah, a second length, —over against the ascent of the armoury, at the corner;
20 A sa suite, Baruch, fils de Zabbaï, travailla avec ardeur à une deuxième portion, depuis l’angle jusqu’à l’entrée de la maison d’Elyachib, le grand-prêtre.
after him, zealously repaired Baruch son of Zabbai, a second length, —from the corner, unto the opening of the house of Eliashib, the high priest;
21 A sa suite, Merêmot, fils d’Ouria, fils de Hakoç, travailla à une deuxième portion, depuis l’entrée de la maison d’Elyachib jusqu’à l’extrémité de la maison d’Elyachib.
after him, repaired, Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz, a second length, —from the opening of the house of Eliashib, even unto the end of the house of Eliashib;
22 A sa suite, travaillèrent les prêtres, les gens du cercle.
and, after him, repaired, the priests, the men of the Circuit;
23 A la suite, travaillèrent Benjamin et Hachoub vis-à-vis de leur maison; à leur suite, travailla Maria, fils de Maassèya, fils d’Anania, auprès de sa maison.
after him, repaired, Benjamin and Hasshub, over against their own house, —after him, repaired, Azariah son of Maaseiah son of Ananiah, beside his own house;
24 A sa suite, travailla Binnoui, fils de Hênadad, à une deuxième portion, depuis la maison d’Azaria jusqu’à l’angle et jusqu’à l’encoignure.
after him, repaired, Binnui son of Henadad, a second length, —from the house of Azariah, unto the corner, even unto the pinnacle:
25 Palal, fils d’Ouzaï, travailla vis-à-vis de l’encoignure et de la tour supérieure, qui fait saillie sur la maison du roi et confine à la cour de la prison; à sa suite, travailla Pedaïa, fils de Paroch.
Palal, son of Uzai, from over against the corner, and the tower that projecteth from the upper house of the king, which belongeth to the court of custody, —after him, Pedaiah son of Parosh.
26 Les serviteurs du temple étaient établis sur la colline fortifiée, jusqu’en face de la porte de l’eau à l’est et la tour en saillie.
Now, the Nethinim, were dwelling in Ophel, —as far as over against the water-gate, on the east, and the tower that projecteth;
27 A la suite, les gens de Tekoa réparèrent une seconde portion, en face de la grande tour en saillie et jusqu’au mur de la colline fortifiée.
after him, repaired, the Tekoites, a second length, —from over against the great tower that projecteth, even unto the wall of Ophel:
28 Au-dessus de la porte des chevaux, travaillèrent les prêtres, chacun en face de sa maison.
from beside the horse-gate, repaired the priests, every one over against his own house;
29 A la suite, travailla Çadok, fils d’Immêr, en face de sa maison; à la suite, travailla Chemaïa, fils de Chekhania, gardien de la porte orientale.
after him, repaired, Zadok son of Immer, over against his own house, —and, after him, repaired, Shemaiah son of Shecaniah, keeper of the east-gate;
30 A la suite, Hanania, fils de Chélémia, et Hanoun, le sixième fils de Çalaf, réparèrent une deuxième portion; à la suite, travailla Mechoullam, fils de Bérékhia, en face de sa chambre.
after him, repaired, Hananiah son of Shelemiah, and Hanun sixth son of Zalaph, a second length, —after him, repaired, Meshullam son of Berechiah, over against his chamber;
31 A la suite, Malkia, de la corporation des orfèvres, travailla jusqu’à la maison des serviteurs du temple et des marchands, en face de la porte du recensement et jusqu’au donjon de l’angle.
after him, repaired, Malchijah son of Zorphi, as far as the house of the Nethinim, and the traders, —over against the muster-gate, even unto the ascent of the pinnacle;
32 Et entre le donjon de l’angle et la porte des brebis, les réparations furent faites par les orfèvres et les marchands.
and, between the ascent of the pinnacle and the sheep-gate, repaired, the goldsmiths, and the traders.
