Lévitique 1
1 L’Éternel appela Moïse, et lui parla, de la Tente d’assignation, en ces termes:
Then the LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying,
2 "Parle aux enfants d’Israël et dis-leur: Si quelqu’un d’entre vous veut présenter au Seigneur une offrande de bétail, c’est dans le gros ou le menu bétail que vous pourrez choisir votre offrande.
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any of you brings an offering to the LORD, you may bring as your offering an animal from the herd or the flock.
3 Si cette offrande est un holocauste pris dans le gros bétail, il l’offrira mâle, sans défaut. Il le présentera au seuil de la Tente d’assignation, pour être agréable au Seigneur.
If one’s offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to present an unblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for its acceptance before the LORD.
4 Il appuiera sa main sur la tête de la victime, et elle sera agréée en sa faveur pour lui obtenir propitiation.
He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, so it can be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.
5 On immolera le taureau devant le Seigneur; les fils d’Aaron, les pontifes, offriront le sang, dont ils aspergeront le tour de l’autel qui est à l’entrée de la Tente d’assignation.
And he shall slaughter the young bull before the LORD, and Aaron’s sons the priests are to present the blood and sprinkle it on all sides of the altar at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
6 Alors on dépouillera la victime, et on la dépècera par quartiers.
Next, he is to skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.
7 Les fils d’Aaron le pontife mettront du feu sur l’autel, et disposeront du bois sur ce feu;
The sons of Aaron the priest shall put a fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.
8 puis les fils d’Aaron, les pontifes, arrangeront les membres, la tête et la graisse sur le bois, disposé sur le feu qui sera sur l’autel.
Then Aaron’s sons the priests are to arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, atop the burning wood on the altar.
9 On lavera dans l’eau les intestins et les jambes; alors le pontife fera fumer le tout sur l’autel comme holocauste, combustion d’une odeur agréable au Seigneur.
The entrails and legs must be washed with water, and the priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
10 Si l’offrande destinée à l’holocauste provient du menu bétail, des brebis ou des chèvres, on la présentera mâle, sans défaut.
If, however, one’s offering is a burnt offering from the flock—from the sheep or goats—he is to present an unblemished male.
11 On l’immolera au côté nord de l’autel, devant le Seigneur; et les fils d’Aaron, les pontifes, aspergeront de son sang le tour de l’autel.
He shall slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the LORD, and Aaron’s sons the priests are to sprinkle its blood against the altar on all sides.
12 On la dépècera par quartiers, séparant là tête et la graisse; le pontife les arrangera sur le bois, disposé sur le feu qui sera sur l’autel.
He is to cut the animal into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and fat, atop the burning wood that is on the altar.
13 On lavera dans l’eau les intestins et les jambes; alors le pontife offrira le tout, qu’il fera fumer sur l’autel comme étant un holocauste, combustion d’une odeur agréable au Seigneur.
The entrails and legs must be washed with water, and the priest shall bring all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
14 Si c’est un oiseau qu’on veut offrir en holocauste au Seigneur, qu’on choisisse l’offrande parmi les tourterelles ou les jeunes colombes.
If, instead, one’s offering to the LORD is a burnt offering of birds, he is to present a turtledove or a young pigeon.
15 Le pontife la présentera à l’autel et lui rompra la tête, qu’il fera fumer sur l’autel après que son sang aura été exprimé sur la paroi de l’autel.
Then the priest shall bring it to the altar, twist off its head, and burn it on the altar; its blood should be drained out on the side of the altar.
16 Il enlèvera le jabot avec ses plumes, et le jettera à côté de l’autel, à l’orient, dans le dépôt des cendres.
And he is to remove the crop with its contents and throw it to the east side of the altar, in the place for ashes.
17 Alors le pontife ouvrira l’oiseau du côté des ailes, sans les détacher, puis le fera fumer sur l’autel, sur le bois du brasier. Ce sera un holocauste, combustion d’une odeur agréable au Seigneur.
He shall tear it open by its wings, without dividing the bird completely. And the priest is to burn it on the altar atop the burning wood. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
