Jérémie 28

1 II arriva, en cette même année, au début du règne de Sédécias, roi de Juda, le cinquième mois de la quatrième année, que Hanania, fils d’Azzour, prophète natif de Gabaon, me tint ce discours dans le Temple de l’Eternel, en présence des prêtres et de tout le peuple:

That same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in the LORD’s house, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,

2 "Ainsi parle l’Eternel-Cebaot, Dieu d’Israël: Je brise le joug du roi de Babylone.

“The LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says, ‘I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

3 Encore deux années, et je ferai réintégrer dans cette cité tous les vases du Temple de l’Eternel, que Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a enlevés d’ici et transportés à Babylone.

Within two full years I will bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD’s house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

4 Et leconia aussi, fils de Joïakim, roi de Juda, avec tous les déportés de Juda, qui sont arrivés à Babylone, je les ramènerai en ces lieux, dit l’Eternel, car je vais briser le joug du roi de Babylone."

I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, who went to Babylon,’ says the LORD; ‘for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”

5 Alors le prophète Jérémie répliqua au prophète Hanania en présence des prêtres et en présence de tout le peuple qui se tenait dans la maison de l’Eternel,

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people who stood in the LORD’s house,

6 et le prophète Jérémie dit: "Amen! Ainsi fasse l’Eternel! Puisse l’Eternel accomplir la prédiction que tu as énoncée, en faisant revenir de Babylone en cette cité les vases du Temple de l’Eternel!

even the prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May the LORD do so. May the LORD perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD’s house, and all those who are captives, from Babylon to this place.

7 Toutefois écoute, je t’en prie, la parole que je fais entendre à tes oreilles et aux oreilles de tout le peuple.

Nevertheless listen now to this word that I speak in your ears, and in the ears of all the people:

8 Les prophètes qui nous ont précédés, moi et toi, de toute antiquité, ont prédit à de puissants pays et à de grands rois des guerres, des calamités et des pestes.

The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, of evil, and of pestilence.

9 Mais le prophète qui prédit un événement heureux n’est reconnu comme véritablement envoyé de Dieu qu’autant que sa prédiction s’accomplit."

As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet happens, then the prophet will be known, that the LORD has truly sent him.”

10 Alors le prophète Hanania saisit le joug posé sur le cou du prophète Jérémie et le brisa.

Then Hananiah the prophet took the bar from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and broke it.

11 Et Hanania prononça ces paroles en présence de tout le peuple: "Ainsi parle l’Eternel: C’Est de cette façon que, dans un délai de deux ans, je briserai le joug que Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, fait peser sur le cou de tous les peuples." Le prophète Jérémie se retira, poursuivant son chemin.

Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “The LORD says: ‘Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from off the neck of all the nations within two full years.’” Then the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

12 Puis la parole de l’Eternel fut adressée à Jérémie en ces termes, après que le prophète Hanania eût brisé le joug posé sur le cou de Jérémie:

Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

13 "Va et tiens à Hanania ce langage: Tu as brisé un joug de bois, tu le remplaceras par un joug de fer;

“Go, and tell Hananiah, saying, ‘The LORD says, “You have broken the bars of wood, but you have made in their place bars of iron.”

14 car voici ce que dit l’Eternel-Cebaot, Dieu d’Israël: C’Est un joug de fer que je pose sur le cou de tous ces peuples, pour qu’ils soient soumis à Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, et le servent; jusqu’aux animaux des champs, je les lui livre."

For the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel says, “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they will serve him. I have also given him the animals of the field.”’”

15 Puis le prophète Jérémie dit au prophète Hanania: "Veuille écouter, Hanania! l’Eternel ne t’a pas envoyé et toi, tu as leurré ce peuple par des promesses mensongères.

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen, Hananiah! The LORD has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie.

16 C’Est pourquoi l’Eternel parle ainsi: Je vais te renvoyer de la surface de la terre; au cours de cette année tu mourras, parce que tu as prêché la révolte contre l’Eternel."

Therefore the LORD says, ‘Behold, I will send you away from off the surface of the earth. This year you will die, because you have spoken rebellion against the LORD.’”

17 En effet, le prophète Hanania mourut cette même année, dans le septième mois.

So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
