Isaïe 50
1 Ainsi parle l’Eternel: "Où est l’acte de divorce de votre mère, par lequel je l’aurais répudiée? Auquel de mes créanciers vous ai-je vendus? Ah! Si vous avez été vendus, c’est à cause de vos fautes; si votre mère a été chassée, c’est à cause de vos péchés.
Thus says the LORD, "Where is the bill of your mother's divorce, with which I have put her away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Look, for your iniquities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away.
2 Pourquoi suis-je venu et n’ai-je trouvé personne? Pourquoi ai-je appelé et nul n’a répondu? Mon bras est-il trop court pour la délivrance, et ne suis-je pas assez fort pour sauver? Par ma seule menace, je dessèche la mer, je change les fleuves en un sol aride, et les poissons pourrissent par manque d’eau, meurent par la sécheresse.
Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can't redeem? or have I no power to deliver? Look, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink, because there is no water, and die for thirst.
3 Je revêts les cieux d’un crêpe et je les drape du sombre cilice.
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering."
4 Le Seigneur, l’Eternel, m’a doté du langage de ses disciples, pour que je sache relever par la parole les cœurs découragés; il dispose, matin après matin, il dispose mon oreille à écouter comme ses disciples.
The LORD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary: he wakens morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.
5 Le Seigneur, l’Eternel, a ouvert mon oreille à sa parole; et moi je n’ai point regimbé, ni reculé d’un pas.
The LORD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away backward.
6 J’Ai livré mon dos aux coups et mes joues aux violences; je n’ai point dérobé mon visage aux insultes et aux crachats.
I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who tore out my beard; I did not cover my face from insults and spitting.
7 Protégé par le Seigneur, l’Eternel, la honte ne pouvait m’atteindre! C’Est pourquoi, je me suis fait un visage dur comme le roc, je savais que je n’aurais point à rougir.
But the LORD will help me; therefore I have not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be disappointed.
8 Celui qui défend mon droit est proche, qui osera plaider contre moi? Comparaissons ensemble: qui est ma partie adverse? Qu’elle s’avance contre moi!
He is near who justifies me; who will bring charges against me? Let us stand up together: who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.
9 Oui, le Seigneur, l’Eternel, est mon soutien, qui osera m’inculper? Certes, ils seront tous comme un vêtement usé, que la mite dévore.
Look, the LORD will help me; who is he who shall condemn me? Look, all they shall wax old as a garment, the moth shall eat them up.
10 Qui, parmi vous, révère l’Eternel, est attentif à la voix de son serviteur? Dût-il marcher dans les ténèbres, ne voir luire aucune lumière, qu’il se repose sur le nom du Seigneur, qu’il s’abandonne à son Dieu!
Who is among you who fears the LORD, who listens to the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of the LORD, and rely on his God.
11 Mais vous tous qui attisez la flamme, qui vous armez de torches incendiaires, allez dans le feu de votre propre brasier, sous les torches allumées par vous-mêmes; c’est ma, main qui vous réserve ce sort, vous serez étendus sur une couche de douleurs.
Look, all you who kindle a fire, who adorn yourselves with flaming arrows around yourselves; walk in the light of your fire, and among the flaming arrows that you have kindled. You shall have this of my hand; you shall lie down in sorrow.
