Osée 5
1 Ecoutez ceci, ô prêtres, soyez attentifs, maison d’Israël, et vous, maison du roi, prêtez l’oreille! Car c’est vous qui êtes mis en cause. Aussi bien, vous avez été un piège pour Miçpah, un filet tendu sur le Thabor.
Preestis, here ye this, and the hous of Israel, perseyue ye, and the hous of the kyng, herkne ye; for whi doom is to you, for ye ben maad a snare to lokyng afer, and as a net spred abrood on Thabor.
2 Vaste et profonde a été leur aberration, et moi je prépare leur châtiment à tous.
And ye bowiden doun sacrifices in to depthe; and Y am the lernere of alle hem.
3 Je connais bien Ephraïm, et Israël ne peut se dérober à moi; oui, vraiment, tu t’es livré à la prostitution, ô Ephraïm, Israël s’est rendu impur.
Y knowe Effraym, and Israel is not hid fro me; for now Effraym dide fornicacioun, Israel is defoulid.
4 Leur manière d’agir ne leur permet pas de retourner à leur Dieu, car le goût de la prostitution règne au milieu d’eux, mais l’Eternel, ils ne le connaissent point.
Thei schulen not yiue her thouytis, that thei turne ayen to her God; for the spirit of fornicacioun is in the myddis of hem, and thei knewen not the Lord.
5 Aussi l’orgueil d’Israël sera-t-il humilié en sa présence; Israël et Ephraïm trébucheront à cause de leur iniquité, même Juda trébuchera avec eux.
And the boost of Israel schal answere in to the face therof, and Israel and Effraym schulen falle in her wickidnesse; also Judas schal falle with hem.
6 Avec leur menu et gros bétail, ils iront se mettre à la recherche de l’Eternel, mais ne le trouveront point! II s’est retiré d’eux.
In her flockis, and in her droues thei schulen go to seke the Lord, and thei schulen not fynde; he is takun awei fro hem.
7 Ils ont trahi l’Eternel, car ils ont donné le jour à des enfants étrangers: maintenant il les consumera en un seul mois avec leurs biens.
Thei trespassiden ayens the Lord, for thei gendriden alien sones; now the monethe schal deuoure hem with her partis.
8 Sonnez le chofar à Ghibea, la trompette à Rama, poussez des cris de guerre à Beth-Awên! Benjamin, on est derrière toi!
Sowne ye with a clarioun in Gabaa, with a trumpe in Rama; yelle ye in Bethauen, after thi bak, Beniamyn.
9 Ephraïm sera réduit en ruines au jour de la répression, j’en fais l’annonce véridique parmi les tribus d’Israël.

10 Les princes de Juda ont été de ceux qui reculent les bornes; sur eux je répandrai mon courroux comme l’eau.

11 Ephraïm est accablé, écrasé à juste titre, puisqu’il s’est plu à suivre de vaines prescriptions.

12 Aussi serai-je, moi, comme la teigne pour Ephraïm, comme un ver rongeur pour la maison de Juda.
And Y am as a mouyte to Effraym, and as rot to the hous of Juda.
13 Ephraïm s’est aperçu de son mal et Juda de sa plaie: Ephraïm est donc allé trouver Achour, il a envoyé une ambassade au roi Protecteur. Mais lui ne peut vous guérir ni soulager votre plaie.
And Effraym siy his sikenesse, and Judas siy his boond. And Effraym yede to Assur, and sente to the kyng veniere. And he mai not saue you, nether he mai vnbynde the boond fro you.
14 Car moi, je suis comme un chacal pour Ephraïm et comme un lion pour la maison de Juda; moi, oui moi, je mets en pièces et me retire, j’emporte la proie, et personne ne peut me l’arracher.
For Y am as a lionesse to Effraym, and as a whelp of a lioun to the hous of Juda.
15 Je m’en vais reprendre le chemin de ma résidence, jusqu’à ce qu’ils s’avouent coupables et désirent ma présence: quand ils seront dans la détresse, ils me rechercheront.
