Genèse 46
1 Israël partit avec tout ce qui lui appartenait et arriva à Beer Shava, où il immola des victimes au Dieu de son père Isaac.
And Israel departed, he and all that he had, and came to the well of the oath; and he offered sacrifice to the God of his father Isaac.
2 Le Seigneur parla à Israël dans les visions de la nuit, disant: "Jacob! Jacob!" II répondit: "Me voici."
And God spoke to Israel in a night vision, saying, Jacob, Jacob; and he said, What is it?
3 Il poursuivit: "Je suis le Seigneur, Dieu de ton père: n’hésite point à descendre en Égypte car je t’y ferai devenir une grande nation.
And he says to him, I am the God of your fathers; fear not to go down into Egypt, for I will make you there a great nation.
4 Moi-même, je descendrai avec toi en Égypte; moi-même aussi je t’en ferai remonter; et c’est Joseph qui te fermera les yeux."
And I will go down with you into Egypt, and I will bring you up at the end; and Joseph shall put his hands on your eyes.
5 Jacob repartit de Beer Shava. Les fils d’Israël firent monter leur père, leurs enfants et leurs femmes dans les voitures envoyées par Pharaon pour l’amener.
And Jacob rose up from the well of the oath; and the sons of Israel took up their father, and the baggage, and their wives on the waggons, which Joseph sent to take them.
6 Ils prirent leurs troupeaux et les biens qu’ils avaient acquis dans le pays de Canaan et vinrent en Égypte, Jacob et avec lui toute sa famille:
And they took up their goods, and all their property, which they had gotten in the land of Chanaan; they came into the land of Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him.
7 ses fils et ses petits-fils, ses filles et ses petites-filles et toute sa descendance l’accompagnèrent en Égypte.
The sons, and the sons of his sons with him; [his] daughters, and the daughters of his daughters; and he brought all his seed into Egypt.
8 Suivent les noms des enfants d’Israël venus en Égypte: Jacob et ses fils; l’aîné de Jacob, Ruben
And these are the names of the sons of Israel that went into Egypt with their father Jacob—Jacob and his sons. The firstborn of Jacob, Ruben.
9 et les fils de Ruben: Hénoc, Pallou, Heçrèn, Karmi;
And the sons of Ruben; Enoch, and Phallus, Asron, and Charmi.
10 et les fils de Siméon: Yemouël, Yamin, Ohad, Yakhin, Çohar; puis Chaoul, fils de la Cananéenne.
and the sons of Symeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Aod, and Achin, and Saar, and Saul, the son of a Chananitish woman.
11 Les fils de Lévi: Gerson, Kehàth, Merari.
And the sons of Levi; Gerson, Cath, and Merari.
12 Les fils de Juda: Ér, Onân, Chêla, Péreç et Zérah. Ér et Onân moururent dans le pays de Canaan. Les fils de Péreç furent Heçrôn et Hamoul.
And the sons of Judas; Er, and Aunan, and Selom, and Phares, and Zara: and Er and Aunan died in the land of Chanaan.
13 Les fils d’Issachar: Tôlà, Pouvva, Yôb et Chimron.
And the sons of Phares [were] Esron, and Jemuel. And the sons of Issachar; Thola, and Phua, and Asum, and Sambran.
14 Les fils de Zabulon: Séred, Élôn et Yahleêl.
And the sons of Zabulun, Sered, and Allon, and Achoel.
15 Ceux-là sont les fils de Lia, qui les enfanta à Jacob sur le territoire araméen, puis Dina sa fille: total de ses fils et de ses filles, trente trois.
These [are] the sons of Lea, which she bore to Jacob in Mesopotamia of Syria, and Dina his daughter; all the souls, sons and daughters, thirty-three.
16 Les fils de Gad: Cifyôn, Hagghi, Chouni, Eçbôn, Éri, Arodi, Aréli.
And the sons of Gad; Saphon, and Angis, and Sannis, and Thasoban, and Aedis, and Aroedis, and Areelis.
17 Les enfants d’Aser: Yimna, Yichva, Yichvi, Berïa et Sérah leur sœur; et les fils de Berïa: Héber et Malkïél.
And the sons of Aser; Jemna, Jessua, and Jeul, and Baria, and Sara their sister. And the sons of Baria; Chobor, and Melchiil.
18 Ceux-là sont les enfants de Zilpa, que Laban avait donnée à Léa sa fille; c’est elle qui les enfanta à Jacob, seize personnes.
These [are] the sons of Zelpha, which Laban gave to his daughter Lea, who bore these to Jacob, sixteen souls.
19 Les fils de Rachel, épouse de Jacob: Joseph et Benjamin.
And the sons of Rachel, the wife of Jacob; Joseph, and Benjamin.
20 Il naquit à Joseph, dans le pays d’Égypte; Asenath, fille de Pôti-Féra, prêtre d’On, les lui enfanta: Manassé et Éphraïm.
And there were sons born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Aseneth, the daughter of Petephres, priest of Heliopolis, bore to him, [even] Manasses and Ephraim. And there were sons born to Manasses, which the Syrian concubine bore to him, [even] Machir. And Machir begot Galaad. And the sons of Ephraim, the brother of Manasses; Sutalaam, and Taam. And the sons of Sutalaam; Edom.
21 Et les fils de Benjamin: Béla, Béker, Achbêl, Ghêra, Naamân, Éhi, Rôch, Mouppim, Houppim et Ard’.
and the sons of Benjamin; Bala, and Bochor, and Asbel. And the sons of Bala were Gera, and Noeman, and Anchis, and Ros, and Mamphim. And Gera begot Arad.
22 Ceux-là sont les fils de Rachel, qui naquirent à Jacob; en tout, quatorze.
These [are] the sons of Rachel, which she bore to Jacob; all the souls eighteen.
23 Fils de Dan: Houchim.
And the sons of Dan; Asom.
24 Fils de Nephtali: Yahceél, Gouni, Yécer et Chillem.
And the sons of Nephthalim; Asiel, and Goni, and Issaar, and Sollem.
25 Ceux-là sont les fils de Bilha, que Laban avait donnée à Rachel sa fille; c’est elle qui les enfanta à Jacob, en tout, sept personnes.
These [are] the sons of Balla, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel, who bore these to Jacob; all the souls, seven.
26 Toutes les personnes de la famille de Jacob et issues de lui, qui vinrent en Égypte, outre les épouses des fils de Jacob, furent en tout soixante-six personnes.
And all the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, who came out of his loins, besides the wives of the sons of Jacob, [even] all the souls were sixty-six.
27 Puis, les fils de Joseph, qui lui naquirent en Égypte, deux personnes: total des individus de la maison de Jacob qui se trouvèrent réunis en Égypte, soixante-dix.
And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in the land of Egypt, were nine souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob who came with Joseph into Egypt, were seventy-five souls.
28 Jacob avait envoyé Juda en avant, vers Joseph, pour qu’il lui préparât l’entrée de Gessen. Lorsqu’ils y furent arrivés,
And he sent Judas before him to Joseph, to meet him to the city of Heroes, into the land of Ramesses.
29 Joseph fit atteler son char et alla au-devant d’Israël, son père, à Gessen. A sa vue, il se précipita à son cou et pleura longtemps dans ses bras.
And Joseph having made ready his chariots, went up to meet Israel his father, at the city of Heroes; and having appeared to him, fell on his neck, and wept with abundant weeping.
30 Et Israël dit à Joseph: "Je puis mourir à présent, puisque j’ai vu ta face, puisque tu vis encore!"
And Israel said to Joseph, After this I will [gladly] die, since I have seen your face, for you are yet living.
31 Joseph dit à ses frères, à la famille de son père"Je vais remonter pour en faire part à Pharaon; je lui dirai ‘Mes frères et toute la famille de mon père, qui habitent le pays de Canaan, sont venus auprès de moi.
And Joseph said to his brethren, I will go up and tell Pharao, and will say to him, My brethren, and my father's house, who were in the land of Chanaan, are come to me.
32 Ces hommes sont pasteurs de troupeaux, parce qu’ils possèdent du bétail; or leur menu et leur gros bétail et tout ce qu’ils possèdent, ils l’ont amené.’
And the men are shepherds; for they have been feeders of cattle, and they have brought with them their cattle, and their kine, and all their property.
33 Maintenant, lorsque Pharaon vous mandera et dira: ‘Quelles sont vos occupations?’
If then Pharao call you, and say to you, What is you occupation?
34 vous répondrez: ‘Tes serviteurs se sont adonnés au bétail depuis leur jeunesse jusqu’à présent et nous et nos pères.’ C’Est afin que vous demeuriez dans la province de Gessen, car les Égyptiens ont en horreur tout pasteur de menu bétail."
You shall say, We your servants are herdsmen from our youth until now, both we and our fathers: that you may dwell in the land of Gesem of Arabia, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.
