Ézéchiel 39

1 Pour toi, fils de l’homme, prophétise sur Gog et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: Me voici contre toi, Gog, prince suzerain de Méchec et de Toubal.

“But as for you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am above you, O Gog, prince of the head of Meshech and Tubal.

2 Je vais t’entraîner, te frapper de vertige et te faire monter de l’extrême Nord et venir sur les montagnes d’Israël.

And I will turn you around, and I will lead you away, and I will cause you to rise up from the parts of the north. And I will bring you over the mountains of Israel.

3 Je vais briser ton arc dans ta main gauche et faire tomber tes flèches de ta main droite.

And I will strike your bow in your left hand, and I will cast away your arrows from your right hand.

4 Sur les montagnes d’Israël tu tomberas, toi et tes légions et les peuples qui t’accompagnent; aux oiseaux de proie de tout plumage, aux fauves des champs je te livre en pâture.

You will fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your companies, and your peoples who are with you. I have given you over to the wild animals, to the birds, and to every flying thing, and to the beasts of the earth, in order to be devoured.

5 Sur la surface des champs tu tomberas, oui, c’est moi qui le déclare, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

You will fall upon the face of the field. For I have spoken, says the Lord God.

6 Et j’enverrai un feu dans Magog et parmi ceux qui habitent les plages en toute sécurité, et ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel.

And I will send a fire upon Magog, and upon those who are living confidently in the islands. And they shall know that I am the Lord.

7 Et mon saint nom, je le ferai connaître au milieu de mon peuple Israël, et je ne laisserai plus profaner mon saint nom; et les nations reconnaîtront que je suis l’Eternel, saint en Israël!

And I will make known my holy name in the midst of my people, Israel, and my holy name will no longer be defiled. And the Gentiles shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

8 La voici venir, elle est accomplie, dit le Seigneur Dieu: C’Est le jour que j’ai annoncé!

Behold, it approaches, and it is done, says the Lord God. This is the day, about which I have spoken.

9 Et ils sortiront, les habitants des villes d’Israël; ils feront du feu et l’attiseront avec les armes de guerre bouclier et rondache, arc et flèches, javelot et lance; ils en alimenteront du feu pendant sept années.

And the inhabitants from the cities of Israel will go forth, and they will kindle and burn the weapons, the shields and the spears, the bows and the arrows, and the staff and the lance. And they will kindle fires with them for seven years.

10 Ils ne ramasseront pas de bois dans la campagne, ils n’en couperont pas dans les forêts, c’est avec les armures qu’ils feront du feu; et ils dépouilleront leurs spoliateurs et pilleront ceux qui les auront pillés, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

And they will not carry wood from the countryside, and they will not cut from the forests. For they will kindle the weapons with fire. And they will prey upon those who had preyed upon them, and they will plunder those who had plundered them, says the Lord God.

11 Et alors, ce jour-là, je donnerai à Gog un lieu de sépulture en Israël la vallée des Passants, à l’Orient de la mer et ce sera une barrière enfermant les passants; on y enterrera Gog et toute sa cohue et on l’appellera "Vallée de la Cohue de Gog".

And this shall be in that day: I will give Gog a renowned place as a sepulcher in Israel, the valley of the wayfarers to the east of the sea, which will cause astonishment in those who pass by. And in that place, they will bury Gog and all his multitude, and it will be called the valley of the multitude of Gog.

12 La maison d’Israël les ensevelira, pour purifier le pays, pendant sept mois.

And the house of Israel will bury them, so that they may cleanse the land, for seven months.

13 Tous les gens du pays aideront à l’inhumation et s’en feront honneur, au jour de ma glorification, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

Then all the people of the earth will bury them, and this shall be for them a renowned day, on which I have been glorified, says the Lord God.

14 Puis on désignera des hommes en permanence, ayant mission de parcourir le pays pour enterrer ces passants, ceux qui seraient restés sur la surface du sol, afin de le purifier. C’Est au bout de sept mois qu’ils commenceront la recherche.

And they shall appoint men to continually examine the earth, so that they may seek out and bury those who have remained on the surface of the earth, so that they may cleanse it. Then, after seven months, they will begin to seek.

15 En parcourant ainsi le pays, quand l’un d’eux apercevra des ossements humains, il bâtira à côté un cippe, jusqu’à ce que les fossoyeurs les aient ensevelis dans la Vallée de la Cohue.

And they will go around, traveling the earth. And when they will have seen the bone of a man, they will station a marker beside it, until the undertakers may bury it in the valley of the multitude of Gog.

16 Pareillement, la ville sera nommée "Hamôna!", et l’on purifiera le pays.

And the name of the city will be: the Multitude. And they shall cleanse the earth.

17 Et toi, fils de l’homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: Dis aux oiseaux de tout plumage et à toutes les bêtes des champs: Rassemblez-vous et venez! Réunissez-vous de toutes parts auprès de mon hécatombe que je prépare pour vous. Une grande hécatombe sur les montagnes d’Israël, vous mangerez de la chair et vous boirez du sang.

As for you, then, son of man, thus says the Lord God: Say to every flying thing, and to all the birds, and to all the beasts of the field: Assemble! Hurry! Rush together from every side to my victim, which I have immolated for you, a great victim upon the mountains of Israel, so that you may consume flesh, and drink blood!

18 Vous mangerez la chair des guerriers, vous boirez le sang des princes de la terre, tous béliers, agneaux gras, boucs, taureaux, bétail plantureux de Basan.

You shall eat the flesh of the powerful, and you shall drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams and lambs and he-goats and bulls, and of fattened birds and all that is fat.

19 Vous mangerez de la graisse à satiété et vous boirez du sang jusqu’à l’ivresse, grâce à l’hécatombe que j’aurai préparée pour vous.

And you shall consume the fat unto satiation, and you shall drink the blood unto inebriation, from the victim that I will immolate for you.

20 Vous vous gorgerez à ma table de chevaux et d’attelages, de soldats et de toute espèce de gens de guerre, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

And you shall be satiated, upon my table, from horses and powerful horsemen, and from all the men of war, says the Lord God.

21 Et je manifesterai ma gloire parmi les nations, et tous les peuples verront le jugement que j’ai exercé et la main que j’ai posée sur eux.

And I will set my glory among the Gentiles. And all the nations shall see my judgment, which I have accomplished, and my hand, which I have laid upon them.

22 Et la maison d’Israël saura que je suis l’Eternel, leur Dieu, à dater de ce jour et ultérieurement.

And the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord, their God, from that day and thereafter.

23 Et les nations sauront que c’est à cause de son iniquité que la maison d’Israël avait été exilée, parce qu’ils m’ont été infidèles, de sorte que je détournai d’eux ma face et les livrai au pouvoir de leurs ennemis, et qu’ils tombèrent tous sous le glaive.

And the Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel was taken captive because of their own iniquity, because they abandoned me. And so I concealed my face from them, and I delivered them into the hands of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.

24 Selon leurs souillures et leurs péchés, je les ai traités, et j’ai détourné d’eux ma face.

I have acted toward them in accord with their uncleanness and wickedness, and so I concealed my face from them.

25 En vérité, ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu, maintenant je ferai revenir Jacob de captivité, je prendrai en pitié toute la maison d’Israël et j’aurai le souci jaloux de mon nom.

Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Now I will lead back the captivity of Jacob, and I will take pity upon the entire house of Israel. And I will act with zeal on behalf of my holy name.

26 Ils auront expié leur opprobre et toute l’infidélité dont ils se sont rendus coupables à mon égard, une fois qu’ils habiteront de nouveau sur leur sol en toute sécurité, sans personne pour les troubler.

And they shall bear their shame and all their transgression, by which they betrayed me, though they were living in their own land confidently, dreading no one.

27 Quand je les ramènerai d’entre les peuples et que je les ferai sortir ensemble des pays de leurs ennemis, je serai sanctifié par eux aux yeux de nations nombreuses.

And I will lead them back from among the peoples, and I will gather them together from the lands of their enemies, and I will be sanctified in them, in the sight of the many nations.

28 Ils sauront que je suis l’Eternel, leur Dieu, quand, après les avoir exilés parmi les nations, je les aurai réintégrés dans leur pays, sans plus laisser personne d’entre eux là-bas.

And they shall know that I am the Lord, their God, because I carried them away to the nations, and I gathered them upon their own land, and I did not abandon any of them there.

29 Et je ne détournerai plus d’eux ma face, par la raison que j’aurai répandu mon esprit sur la maison d’Israël, dit le Seigneur Dieu."

And I will no longer conceal my face from them, for I have poured out my Spirit upon the entire house of Israel, says the Lord God.”
