Exode 6

1 L’Éternel dit à Moïse: "C’Est à présent que tu seras témoin de ce que je veux faire à Pharaon. Forcé par une main puissante, il les laissera partir; d’une main puissante, lui-même les renverra de son pays."

And the Lord said to Moses, Now you shall see what I will do to Pharao; for he shall send them forth with a mighty hand, and with a high arm shall he cast them out of his land.

2 Dieu adressa la parole à Moïse, en disant: "Je suis l’Éternel.

And God spoke to Moses and said to him, I [am] the Lord.

3 J’Ai apparu à Abraham, à Isaac, à Jacob, comme Divinité souveraine; ce n’est pas en ma qualité d’Étre immuable que je me suis manifesté à eux.

And I appeared to Abraam and Isaac and Jacob, being their God, but I did not manifest to them my name Lord.

4 De plus, j’avais établi mon alliance avec eux en leur faisant don du pays de Canaan, cette terre de leurs pérégrinations où ils vécurent étrangers

And I established my covenant with them, to give them the land of the Chananites, the land wherein they sojourned, in which also they lived as strangers.

5 et enfin, j’ai entendu les gémissements des enfants d’Israël, asservis par les Égyptiens et je me suis souvenu de mon alliance.

And I listened to the groaning of the children of Israel (the affliction with which the Egyptians enslave them) and I remembered the covenant with you.

6 Donc, parle ainsi aux enfants d’Israël: ‘Je suis l’Éternel! Je veux vous soustraire aux tribulations de l’Égypte et vous délivrer de sa servitude; et je vous affranchirai avec un bras étendu, à l’aide de châtiments terribles.

Go, speak to the children of Israel, saying, I [am] the Lord; and I will lead you forth from the tyranny of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from bondage, and I will ransom you with a high arm, and great judgment.

7 Je vous adopterai pour peuple, je deviendrai votre Dieu; et vous reconnaîtrez que moi, l’Éternel, je suis votre Dieu, moi qui vous aurai soustraits aux tribulations de l’Égypte.

And I will take you to me a people for myself, and will be your God; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the tyranny of the Egyptians.

8 Puis, je vous introduirai dans la contrée que j’ai solennellement promise à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob; je vous la donnerai comme possession héréditaire, moi l’Éternel.’"

And I will bring you into the land concerning which I stretched out my hand to give it to Abraam and Isaac and Jacob, and I will give it you for an inheritance: I [am] the Lord.

9 Moïse redit ces paroles aux enfants d’Israël mais ils ne l’écoutèrent point, ayant l’esprit oppressé par une dure servitude.

And Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, and they listened not to Moses for faint-heartedness, and for their hard tasks.

10 L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

11 "Va, dis à Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, qu’il laisse partir de son pays les enfants d’Israël."

Go in, speak to Pharao king of Egypt, that he send forth the children of Israel out of his land.

12 Mais Moïse s’exprima ainsi devant l’Éternel: "Quoi! les enfants d’Israël ne m’ont pas écouté et Pharaon m’écouterait, moi qui ai la parole embarrassée!"

And Moses spoke before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel listened not to me, and how shall Pharao listen to me? and I am not eloquent.

13 Alors l’Éternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron; il leur donna des ordres pour les enfants d’Israël et pour Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, afin de faire sortir les enfants d’Israël du pays d’Égypte.

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, and gave them a charge to Pharao king of Egypt, that he should send forth the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

14 Voici les souches de leur famille paternelle. Fils de Ruben, premier-né d’Israël: Hanoc, Pallou, Heçrôn et Karmi. Telles sont les familles de Ruben.

And these are the heads of the houses of their families: the sons of Ruben the firstborn of Israel; Enoch and Phallus, Asron, and Charmi, this is the kindred of Ruben.

15 Fils de Siméon: Yemouel, Yamîn, Ohad, Yakhin, Çôhar et Chaoul, fils de la Cananéenne. Telles sont les familles de Siméon.

And the sons of Symeon, Jemuel and Jamin, and Aod, and Jachin and Saar, and Saul the son of a Phoenician woman, these are the families of the sons of Symeon.

16 Et voici les noms des fils de Lévi, selon leur ordre de naissance: Gerson, Kehath, Merari. La durée de la vie de Lévi fut de cent trente-sept ans.

And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their kindred, Gedson, Caath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were a hundred and thirty-seven.

17 Fils de Gerson: Libni et Chimi, avec leurs familles.

And these are the sons of Gedson, Lobeni and Semei, the houses of their family. And the sons of Caath,

18 Fils de Kehath: Amram, Yiçhar, Hébrôn et Ouzziel. Les années de la vie de Kehath: cent trente-trois ans.

Ambram and Issaar, Chebron, and Oziel; and the years of the life of Caath were a hundred and thirty-three years.

19 Fils de Merari: Mahli et Mouchi. Ce sont là les familles lévitiques selon leur filiation.

And the sons of Merari, Mooli, and Omusi, these are the houses of the families of Levi, according to their kindred.

20 Amram choisit Jocabed, sa tante, pour épouse; elle lui enfanta Aaron et Moïse. Les années de la vie d’Amram: cent trente-sept ans.

And Ambram took as wife Jochabed the daughter of his father's brother, and she bore to him both Aaron and Moses, and Mariam their sister: and the years of the life of Ambram were a hundred and thirty-two years.

21 Fils de Yiçhar: Coré, Néfeg et Zikri.

And the sons of Issaar, Core, and Naphec, and Zechri.

22 Fils d’Ouzziel: Michaël, Elçafân et Sithri.

And the sons of Oziel, Misael, and Elisaphan, and Segri.

23 Aaron choisit pour épouse Élichéba, fille d’Amminadab, sœur de Nahchôn; elle lui enfanta Nadab et Abihou, Éléazar et Ithamar.

And Aaron took to himself to wife Elisabeth daughter of Aminadab sister of Naasson, and she bore to him both Nadab and Abiud, and Eleazar and Ithamar.

24 Fils de Coré: Assir, Elkana et Abiasaf. Telles sont les familles des Coréites.

And the sons of Core, Asir, and Elkana, and Abiasar, these are the generations of Core.

25 Quant à Éléazar, fils d’Aaron, il choisit pour femme une des filles de Poutïel et elle lui enfanta Phinéas. Telles sont les souches paternelles des Lévites, selon leurs familles.

And Eleazar the son of Aaron took to himself for a wife [one] of the daughters of Phutiel, and she bore to him Phinees. These are the heads of the family of the Levites, according to their generations.

26 C’Est ce même Aaron, ce même Moïse, à qui Dieu dit: "Faites sortir les enfants d’Israël du pays d’Égypte, selon leurs légions."

This is Aaron and Moses, whom God told to bring out the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt with their forces.

27 Ce sont eux qui parlèrent à Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, à l’effet de conduire hors d’Égypte les enfants d’Israël; savoir, Moïse et Aaron.

These are they that spoke with Pharao king of Egypt, and Aaron himself and Moses brought out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,

28 Or, le jour où l’Éternel avait parlé à Moïse, dans le pays d’Égypte.

in the day in which the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt;

29 L’Éternel avait parlé ainsi à Moïse: "Je suis l’Éternel! Transmets à Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, tout ce que je te dirai."

then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, I am the Lord: speak to Pharao king of Egypt whatever I say to you.

30 Et Moïse avait dit devant l’Éternel: "Certes, j’ai la parole embarrassée, comment donc Pharaon m’écouterait-il?"

And Moses said before the Lord, Behold, I am not able in speech, and how shall Pharao listen to me?
