1 Beçalel exécuta l’arche en bois de chittîm. Elle avait deux coudées et demie de long, une coudée et demie de large, une coudée et demie de haut.
And Bezaleel made the ark of acacia-wood; two cubits and a half the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.
2 Il la revêtit d’or pur, par dedans et par dehors et il l’entoura d’une corniche en or.
And he overlaid it with pure gold inside and outside, and made a border of gold upon it round about.
3 Il moula quatre anneaux d’or pour ses quatre angles; savoir, deux anneaux pour l’une de ses faces, deux anneaux pour la face opposée.
And he cast for it four rings of gold, for its four corners: two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it.
4 Il fit des barres en bois de chittîm et les recouvrit d’or.
And he made staves of acacia-wood and overlaid them with gold.
5 Il introduisit ces barres dans les anneaux, aux côtés de l’arche, pour qu’on pût la transporter.
And he put the staves into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark.
6 Il confectionna un propitiatoire d’or pur, ayant deux coudées et demie de longueur, une coudée et demie de largeur.
— And he made a mercy-seat of pure gold; two cubits and a half the length thereof, and one cubit and a half the breadth thereof.
7 Il fabriqua deux chérubins d’or, qu’il fit d’une seule pièce, ressortant des deux bouts du propitiatoire.
And he made two cherubim of gold; of beaten work did he make them, at the two ends of the mercy-seat;
8 Un chérubin à l’un des bouts, un chérubin au bout opposé; c’est du propitiatoire même qu’il-fit saillir ces chérubins, à ses deux extrémités.
one cherub at the end of one side, and one cherub at the end of the other side; out of the mercy-seat he made the two cherubim at the two ends thereof.
9 Les chérubins, dont les ailes étaient déployées en avant, dominaient de leurs ailes le propitiatoire; et leurs visages, tournés l’un vers l’autre, s’inclinaient vers le propitiatoire.
And the cherubim spread out [their] wings over it, covering over with their wings the mercy-seat; and their faces were opposite to one another: the faces of the cherubim were [turned] toward the mercy-seat.
10 Puis il fit la table en bois de chittîm; deux coudées formaient sa longueur, une coudée sa largeur, une coudée et demie sa hauteur.
And he made the table of acacia-wood; two cubits the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.
11 II la revêtit d’or pur et il l’entoura d’une bordure d’or.
And he overlaid it with pure gold, and made upon it a border of gold round about.
12 Il y ajusta, à l’entour, un châssis large d’un palme qu’il entoura d’une bordure d’or.
And he made for it a margin of a hand-breadth round about; and made a border of gold for the margin thereof round about.
13 Il moula pour cette table quatre anneaux d’or et fixa ces anneaux aux quatre extrémités formées par les quatre pieds.
And he cast for it four rings of gold, and put the rings on the four corners that were on the four feet thereof.
14 C’Est en regard du châssis que se trouvaient ces anneaux, où devaient passer les barres destinées à porter la table.
Close to the margin were the rings, as receptacles of the staves to carry the table.
15 Il fit ces barres de bois de chittîm et les recouvrit d’or; elles servirent à porter la table.
And he made the staves of acacia-wood, and overlaid them with gold, to carry the table.
16 Il confectionna encore les ustensiles relatifs à la table: ses sébiles, ses cuillers et ses demi-tubes, ainsi que les montants dont elle devait être garnie; le tout en or pur.
And he made the utensils that were on the table, the dishes thereof, and the cups thereof, and the bowls thereof, and the goblets with which to pour out, of pure gold.
17 II exécuta le candélabre en or pur. Il le fit tout d’une pièce, avec sa base et son fût; ses calices, ses boutons et ses fleurs faisaient corps avec lui.
And he made the candlestick of pure gold; [of] beaten work he made the candlestick: its base, and its shaft, its cups, its knobs, and its flowers were of itself.
18 Six branches sortaient de ses côtés: trois branches d’un côté, trois branches du côté opposé.
And six branches went out of the sides thereof — three branches of the candlestick out of the one side thereof, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side thereof;
19 Trois calices amygdaloïdes à l’une des branches, avec bouton et fleur et trois calices amygdaloïdes à une autre branche, avec bouton et fleur; même disposition pour les six branches qui partaient du candélabre.
[there were] three cups shaped like almonds in the one branch, a knob and a flower; and three cups shaped like almonds in the other branch, a knob and a flower: so in the six branches which went out of the candlestick.
20 Le fût du candélabre même portait quatre calices amygdaloïdes, avec ses boutons et ses fleurs,
And in the candlestick were four cups, shaped like almonds, its knobs, and its flowers;
21 savoir, un bouton à l’origine d’une de ses paires de branches, un bouton à l’origine de la seconde paire de branches, un bouton à l’origine de la troisième paire: ainsi, pour les six branches qui en ressortaient."
and a knob under two branches thereof, and [again] a knob under two branches thereof, and [again] a knob under two branches thereof, for the six branches which went out of it.
22 Boutons et branches faisaient corps avec lui: il formait tout entier une seule masse d’or pur.
Their knobs and their branches were of itself — all of one beaten work of pure gold.
23 Il en fabriqua aussi les lampes au nombre de sept, puis les mouchettes et les godets, le tout en or pur.
And he made the seven lamps thereof, and the snuffers thereof, and the snuff-trays thereof, of pure gold.
24 Il employa un kikkar d’or pur à le confectionner avec tous ses accessoires.
Of a talent of pure gold he made it, and all its utensils.
25 Il construisit l’autel du parfum en bois de chittîm, long d’une coudée, large d’une coudée, conséquemment carré, et haut de deux coudées; ses cornes faisaient corps avec lui.
And he made the altar of incense of acacia-wood; a cubit the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, square, and two cubits the height thereof: its horns were of itself.
26 Il le revêtit d’or pur, sa plate-forme, ses parois tout autour et ses cornes et il l’entoura d’un bordure d’or.
And he overlaid it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and made upon it a border of gold round about.
27 Il y adapta deux anneaux d’or au-dessous de la bordure, à ses deux parois, de part et d’autre, pour recevoir des barres destinées à le porter.
And he made two rings of gold for it under its border, by its two corners, on the two sides thereof, as receptacles for the staves with which to carry it.
28 Il fit ces barres de bois de chittîm et les recouvrit d’or.
And he made the staves of acacia-wood, and overlaid them with gold.
29 II composa aussi l’huile d’onction sainte et le parfum aromatique pur, selon l’art du parfumeur.
And he made the holy anointing oil, and the pure incense of fragrant drugs, according to the work of the perfumer.
